Dodgers' Andy Pages: Headed to Oklahoma City
Rotowire 38 MINS AGO
Pages was optioned to Triple-A Oklahoma City on Sunday.
Pages had a strong spring with the Dodgers, going 6-for-15 with two homers, eight RBI and seven runs scored while striking out five times over six games. The outfielder is one of the top candidates to earn a call-up to the major-league roster early in the 2024 season.Dodgers' Diego Cartaya: Sent to Double-A
Rotowire 46 MINS AGO
Cartaya (back) was optioned to Double-A Tulsa on Sunday.
Cartaya didn't appear in any contests in the Cactus League due to a back injury and he'll now shift his focus to being ready for the MiLB season. The catcher had a disappointing 2023 campaign, recording a .189/.278/.377 slash line with 19 homers over 355 at-bats in 93 games with Tulsa and he'll likely have to play better to earn an opportunity to be called up to the major-league roster down the road.
Dodgers' Hunter Feduccia: Sent to Triple-A
Rotowire 57 MINS AGO
Feduccia was optioned to Triple-A Oklahoma City on Sunday.
Feduccia has been unimpressive at the plate this spring, going 1-for-11 with a double, three walks, an RBI and two runs scored while striking out five times over eight contests. The catcher will look to produce a little more consistently at Triple-A in order to earn another shot with the major-league roster.
Dodgers' Nick Frasso: Optioned to Triple-A
Rotowire 1 HR AGO
Frasso (shoulder) was optioned to Triple-A Oklahoma City on Sunday.
Frasso is still recovering from procedures on his shoulder and hip and he's not expected to be ready to pitch until late in the season. Once healthy, he'll likely return to the mound with Oklahoma City, where he produced a 3.26 ERA and 1.36 WHIP with 13 strikeouts over 19.1 innings in four starts last season.
Dodgers' Ricky Vanasco: Sent to Oklahoma City
Rotowire 1 HR AGO
Vanasco was optioned to Triple-A Oklahoma City on Sunday.
Vanasco pitched well with the Dodgers this spring, tossing three scoreless innings, allowing one hit while striking out two batters over three appearances. The 25-year-old will now have to wait for his next shot to return to the major-league roster and his performance in Cactus League play certainly helps.
Dodgers' Landon Knack: Optioned to Triple-A
Rotowire 1 HR AGO
Knack was optioned to Triple-A Oklahoma City on Sunday.
Knack made two appearances, including one start, allowing two earned runs on one hit and a walk while striking out seven batters over four innings. The right-hander produced a 2.93 ERA with 38 strikeouts over 43 frames in 10 starts with Oklahoma City last year and if he repeats that production, he'll likely earn a shot in the majors sooner rather than later.
Dodgers' Dinelson Lamet: Set to pitch Sunday
Rotowire 7 HRS AGO
Lamet (visa issues) is scheduled to pitch in Sunday's Cactus League game against the Rockies, Eric Stephen of SBNation.com reports.
Lamet was a late arrival to spring training due to visa issues, but he's now in camp and will make his Cactus League debut Sunday. The 31-year-old had an 11.71 ERA in 17 appearances (four starts) between the Red Sox and Rockies last season, and he'll need an impressive showing during spring training to have a chance of making the Dodgers' roster.
Dodgers' Nick Frasso: Has surgery on right hip
Rotowire MAR 2, 2024
Frasso had a cleanup procedure on his right hip labrum and the Dodgers are aiming to have him back for the Arizona Fall League, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports.
Frasso is currently rehabbing from a labrum injury in his right shoulder that he got surgery for in November. Given the multiple procedures, it's unlikely that the pitching prospect will make his MLB debut in 2024. Frasso split time between Double-A and Triple-A last season and registered a 3.77 ERA and 1.27 WHIP over 93 innings.
Dodgers' Diego Cartaya: Dealing with back soreness
Rotowire MAR 2, 2024
Cartaya has not participated in spring training games due to back soreness, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports.
Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said that the team expects Cartaya to be ready for the start of the MiLB season. The prospect catcher is coming off a disappointing 2023 season with Double-A Tulsa in which he slashed .189/.278/.377 with 19 home runs and 57 RBI over 403 plate appearances.
Dodgers' Max Muncy: Returns to lineup
Rotowire MAR 2, 2024
Muncy (hand) is starting at third base and batting fourth for the Dodgers' spring training game against the Cubs on Saturday, Mike DiGiovanna of the Los Angeles Times reports.
Muncy had been held out for the past couple of games after getting hit in the hand by a pitch during Wednesday's contest against Texas. He resumed swinging a bat Friday and was never expected to miss much time. Muncy tied a career high with 36 homers last season and has already hit one out in six at-bats this spring.
Dodgers' Michael Grove: Gets work in relief
Rotowire MAR 2, 2024
Grove entered with two outs in the third inning of Tuesday's Cactus League game against the White Sox, though he's still being built up as a starter, Eric Stephen of SB Nation reports.
It's not unusual for a starter to pitch in relief during spring training, but Grove's outing was noteworthy in that manager Dave Roberts indicated he wanted the right-hander to get more experience coming into the game in the middle of an inning, suggesting his role for the beginning of the campaign has yet to be decided. The Dodgers beefed up their rotation with the additions of Tyler Glasnow, Yoshinobu Yamamoto and James Paxton in the offseason, so even with Walker Buehler (elbow) slated to begin the campaign on the injured list, there isn't a guaranteed spot in the Opening Day rotation for Grove. He made three late-September relief appearances last year and pitched five scoreless innings with a 6:1 K:BB, yielding just one hit in that span.
