Dodgers' Michael Grove: Rocked for nine runs Rotowire 10 HRS AGO Grove (0-1) took the loss Sunday in Arizona after he gave up nine runs on 12 hits with four strikeouts and one walk in 3.1 innings.
Grove surrendered runs in all four of his innings Sunday as the Diamondbacks jumped out to a 9-3 lead. The 26-year-old has allowed 12 runs with an 8:3 K:BB over 7.1 frames in his first two starts while filling in for Ryan Pepiot (oblique). With Pepiot and Tony Gonsolin (ankle) not appearing likely to immediately return from the injured list, Grove could receive another turn through the rotation.

Dodgers' Austin Barnes: Ejected Sunday Rotowire 16 HRS AGO Barnes was ejected from Sunday's game against the Diamondbacks in the bottom of the fifth inning for arguing with the home plate umpire, Juan Toribio of MLB.com reports.
Barnes went 0-for-2 to begin Sunday's matchup and was tossed in the fifth inning since he wasn't happy with the strike zone while behind the plate. It seems unlikely that the ejection will result in further discipline, so the 33-year-old should remain available as the Dodgers' No. 2 catcher moving forward.

The Dodgers patience may backfire this time. This is not a juggernaut of a team or close to the talent of previous ones. So, by them giving Muncy, Vesia and a couple others time to try to find themselves they're hurting the team in the meantime.
Muncy totally needs to go. He is a defensive liability as I argued a poster because I thought that the more 3rd base time he got the more errors he would commit. I mean at 32 in the majors you are what you are defensively. That in conjunction with not being a potent of enough bat to carry the team in the clean- up spot does it for me. His approach just doesn't fit hitting 4th, occasional homeruns but for the most part trying to draw a walk.
Vesia should just be demoted or used in lesser leverage situations. I've been hearing that he can't get guys out. That and anyone else in the pen that can't get outs needs to be demoted or have an IL stint or something because it costs runs and games.
Anyway this team is not as experienced and talented enough to possibly overcome those guys being given special treatment when other guys are producing and they're not. I mean guys have to think, "Fuck I'm busting my ass and this guy over here just keeps fucking up over and over!"

Anyway this team is not as experienced and talented enough to possibly overcome those guys being given special treatment when other guys are producing and they're not. I mean guys have to think, "Fuck I'm busting my ass and this guy over here just keeps fucking up over and over!" This, 100%. But Fraudman and Daisy cannot deviate from their Bible and will likely continue this absurd futility at least until May or possibly even June. Maxine is TERRIBLE at third and olés half the balls hit that way. He absolutely will not get in front of anything and when he is lucky enough to glove something, he either bobbles it or makes a weak / bad throw. Don’t even get me started on his bat. The pen is weak from top to bottom and with the exception of Phillips, hasn’t had more than one or two clean (no run) innings in ten games. That ain’t workin’. Even if and when we get Goose back (which I predicted would be later than sooner), we all know he’s never going to give us more than five or six innings, just like the other four starters we have. That’s the team we have and the way the front office has designed and set it up. We’ve had some of the best players in the game and the most “explosive” lineup for close to a decade now. But when that lineup CONSTANTLY swings for the fences, refuses to or cannot move runners over, we end up with 0’fer after 0’fer of hits w/ RISP and double digit LOB’s. Again, this is nothing new with these guys. Unfortunately, our starters cannot go more than six or seven innings and throw shut outs every night. And even if they could, you can be certain that Vespa, Mary, Delmonte or Gaterade wouldn’t have a “hold” between them. I hate to say it - but I fear just how bad this team is going to look against the brown stains, who will be getting Tatis back to go with their already formidable lineup. Sometimes all those bats and egos don’t work out (see LA Dodgers the last eight years). But sometimes they do and the stains have the incentive of us being their daddies pretty much since they were established. And there’s certainly been changes and additions to most of the rest of the league while we signed several past their primes (Peralta, Martinez & Heyward) along with a former fire baller that can barely throw 90. If they’re saving up for O, I get it; but somebody’s going to offer him $60 million + a year for at least ten years and I don’t think it’s going to be the Dodgers. I’m with Snoop and think this is going to be a long, disappointing year. I may even pass on going to see them here in June. Not sure I could stand the humiliation of being heckled by 10,000 Redlegs fans three nights in a row and the way LA is playing, they might just get swept here in Cin City. And it’d be by a bunch of nobodies - just look at their roster and you’ll see what I mean. GO DODGERS!!!

Dodgers' Miguel Rojas: Hitless in return Rotowire 1 HR AGO Rojas went 0-for-3 with a walk in a loss to the Diamondbacks on Sunday.
Rojas returned from a multi-game absence due to a groin injury and appeared to have no issues at the plate or in the field. However, manager Dave Roberts indicated before Rojas' return that the veteran infielder will likely be held out of the lineup Monday for precautionary reasons. Rojas has struggled to get going with the bat thus far, slashing .118/.211/.176 through 19 plate appearances.
Dodgers' J.D. Martinez: Knocks pair of extra-base hits Rotowire 1 HR AGO Martinez went 2-for-4 with a double, a triple, two runs and two RBI in Sunday's loss to Arizona.
Martinez isn't known for his speed around the bases, but his third-inning, run-scoring triple ensured that his streak of campaigns with at least one three-bagger (aside from the shortened 2020 season) reached nine. The veteran plated another run with an eighth-inning double, pushing his RBI total to nine on the season. Martinez is tied for second in the league with six doubles so far in 2023.

Sounds like we may have a new clean-up hitter in the works. Nah - let’s keep giving .100 hitting Maxine another four shots a game to drive in runs. It’s working so well so far. GO DODGERS!!!

Right now Muncy is like a frustrating J.D. Drew. Is that redundant? I agree he's ill-suited to the cleanup role.

I guess I know nothing. frikken BASEBALL!! Max is still batting .121 w/ 16 strikeouts in 41 plate appearances though. 2 RBI's in 9 games. Freeman has 2 RBI's. But he gets on base .511% of the time. The real run driving in production has come from Smith, Outman & Martinez. We need a longer lineup. Muncy smack dab in the middle of it doesn't help at all. That mini-hot streak he had last year seems to have fooled some people into believing he was getting better. The truth is he hasn't been the same since his injury. The Dodgers' games have been 8-2, 1-2, 10-1, 1-2, 13-4, 5-2, 5-2, 3-6, 8-12, 6-11. So there's been an upward trend in scoring when losing. Minus the last two losing efforts, the Dodgers have scored 41 runs in 5 winning efforts. 8.2 runs per game. 5 runs in 3 losses. 1.7 runs per game. What a wild discrepancy. Even after scoring 14 runs over the last two games, Max has gone 1-7 / .143 w/ 1 RBI in those games. 1-13 / .077-0-1 over the last four contests. The one redeeming quality has been 5 walks in those four games. It's early. But I wouldn't give him as much rope this year as Roberts did last year. Muncy has last year in the books now. And we all hope something good happens to the Dodgers' pitching staff. The #9 spot in the batting order is beckoning to Max.

Vespa in to load the bases with no outs and try to get the Gnats back in the game. Honestly, this bozo needs to go, but Daisy keeps running his sorry ass out there.
Who’s the next victim - let me guess . . . Mary? Gaterade? I see another grand slam this inning.
GO DODGERS!!!
