Dodgers' Chris Taylor: Not starting Game 2

Taylor is not in the lineup Monday for Game 2 of the NLDS versus the Diamondbacks, Juan Toribio of MLB.com reports.
Taylor looks to be over the knee injury he suffered in the final game of the regular season, as he appeared in Game 1 off the bench. He'll ride the pine again to start Game 2, with Miguel Rojas starting at shortstop, Mookie Betts handling second base and David Peralta covering left field.

Except with Kershaw, who seems to have more troubles in the first inning than any other.
I wonder what his ERA is in the first as compared to all other innings pitched? I don’t know if he’s just “over” pumped or it takes him an inning to GET pumped, but I don’t think I’d want to see him coming into a game late to save or hold it. Remember when Daisy tried that against the Nationals a few years back?
Kersh served up back to back moon shots which cost us a game we were ahead in and the series.
I still think he’s got something left in the tank; but if he’s starting Game Four, he’d better be on a MUCH shorter leash than we saw on Saturday.
There’s not a lot of teams that can come back from a six run deficit, even in the first inning. It completely changes their extremely important mental aspect of the game and not in a good way. I also think that ball to Outman was an E and would bet dimes to dollars Cody would have caught it.
Game Two tonight is obviously a must win. Let’s hope Miller time is up to the task. We’re going to need a good six or seven out of him. GO DODGERS!!! He got one out in the first game. There aren't shorter leashes than that. The 86 mph 'fastball' he served up was enough for me. Maybe Cody gets it. It was hit at 115-116 mph though. Clayton was giving up bullets. One out after already surrendering five runs and then another run after that. I’d say if he looks as bad as he did on Saturday and the Snakes are scorching his pitches again, he’s done after two or three runs. It would definitely put a HUGE burden on the pen, but if this is our final game, we can’t be going down by five or six runs in the first again, especially on the road. GO DODGERS!!! |
