So realistically, how far you see the Dodgers going this postseason? I won't be surprised, or mad if they get bounced early. Kinda hard to expect the kids to carry this pitching staff like they've done all year, and the bullpen is gonna get worn out. Going to be fun to watch (hopefully), but if it's a quick exit, it should be a good off-season to look forward too. One thing in their favor is expectations. Despite winning 100 games, there's less expectation with this team than the others. Less pressure.

Gonna be a bitch this year though. Phillies looked pretty damn good tonight against the Marlins. I can see them knocking the Braves out, which is just fine with me. Hope our bats are on point. Gonna need to score a bunch every game...

Dodgers' Miguel Rojas: Making progress with hand/wrist Rotowire 14 MINS AGO Rojas (hand/wrist) is playing in an intrasquad game Wednesday at Dodger Stadium, David Vassegh of AM 570 LA Sports reports.
Rojas missed the final two games of the regular season after taking a pitch off his left hand/wrist last Friday in San Francisco, but the Dodgers are off until Game 1 of the NLDS this Saturday and the veteran shortstop should be ready to rock. Chris Taylor and Enrique Hernandez filled in at short in his absence.

Look like we are playing the Diamondbacks in the NLDS if this score holds.

Kinda hard to expect the kids to carry this pitching staff like they've done all year, and the bullpen is gonna get worn out. Going to be fun to watch (hopefully), but if it's a quick exit, it should be a good off-season to look forward too. Baseball is so unpredictable, unlike other team sports. There are so many variables involved, like the starting pitchers of both teams, lefty or righty, which teams are hot and which are slumping, that it's really hard to predict. The '88 A's were a much better team than the '88 Dodgers, but the Bash Brothers only managed one homer each and that's all the homers they hit off Dodger pitching in those 5 games. The '88 Mets were also superior but the Dodgers beat them also. The '66 Dodgers were heavily favored to beat the Orioles in the ws but, as one baseball writer so astutely put it, the Dodgers left their bats at home. After 2 runs early in the first game, they were shut out the rest of that game and then the next 3. This was a team that had won it all 2 of the past 3 seasons and the it was the Orioles' first pennant ever. And last year, no one thought the Monks would upset the 111 win Dodgers in the first round. You just never know. The Dodger rotation has really taken a beating since opening day, with both Catman and Pepperman on the IL and Mike Grove and Noah Syndergaard taking their spots. As I sad a few days ago, Grove improved but Syndergaard made us all groan every 5 days. Later, both Dusty May and idiot Urias went down. The idiot did come back and pitched well for the most part, but now he's a done Dodger. All the injuries and suspensions paved the way for the kids, Bobby, Pepperman and Emmit. We'll see if they crack under the pressure of the playoffs, or they have nerves of steel like Bob Welch did. I'm very confident in the bullpen. They'll have 2 more days of rest and they'll all have fresh arms. De-fang those Diamondbacks!

Congrats to the Snakes, our NLCS opponent! Those Beer Drinkers drank too much and now they'll be hungover till next March! I do root for the Snakes except when the play against our guys. It's likely to be Merrill Kelly vs Kersh in the opener. LIkely to be low scoring.

Dodgers' Bobby Miller: Starting Game 2 Rotowire 58 MINS AGO Miller will start Game 2 of the NLDS against the Diamondbacks, Eric Stephen of SBNation.com reports.
Miller boasted an impressive 3.76 ERA and 1.10 WHIP with a 119:32 K:BB across the first 124.1 innings of his big-league career in 2023. He'll now be trusted in the postseason, with Clayton Kershaw set to take the ball in Game 1.
Dodgers' Lance Lynn: Role uncertain entering postseason Rotowire 1 HR AGO Lynn threw four innings in a sim game Thursday, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports.
Manager Dave Roberts noted that the earliest Lynn could pitch in the NLDS against Arizona would be Game 3, but he didn't commit to using Lynn as a starter. Gavin Stone also threw a sim game Thursday, though Ryan Pepiot would be the likeliest candidate to take the ball if Lynn were passed over.

Dodgers' Ryan Pepiot: In mix for NLDS Game 3 Rotowire 16 HRS AGO Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said Friday that Pepiot is "in play" to pitch in Game 3 of the NLDS on Wednesday at Arizona, Eric Stephen of TrueBlueLA.com reports.
Pepiot could either work in bulk relief behind Lance Lynn or get the start himself as the best-of-five National League Division Series shifts from Dodger Stadium to Chase Field. Pepiot made only eight appearances -- three starts -- in the majors during the regular season but dominated to the tune of a 2.14 ERA, 0.76 WHIP and 38:5 K:BB in 42 innings.

In his postseason career, Lynn is 5-5 / 5.28 ERA & 1.64 WHIP in 58.0 innings. That's been inflated by his last couple appearances. But he wasn't all that before the last couple trips. Subtract 6.0 innings, 9 hits, 4 walks & 8 earned runs & you're left with 5-4 w/ a 4.50 ERA. Plus, how do we subtract his most recent appearances when it's NOW we're counting on?
I might start him & give him 2.0 innings. Max. Then yank his ass no matter how he's doing. Go with Pepiot.

Dodgers' Miguel Rojas: Returns to lineup Rotowire 2 HRS AGO Rojas is starting at shortstop and batting ninth Saturday against Arizona in Game 1 of the NLDS, Bill Shaikin of the Los Angeles Times reports.
Rojas missed the Dodgers' final two regular-season games after getting hit in the hand by a pitch. He was given extra time to recover thanks to the team's first-round bye, and he'll return in time for the start of Los Angeles' playoff run. The 34-year-old is slashing .300/.338/.429 with two homers and seven RBI since Sept. 1.
Dodgers' Michael Grove: Secures NLDS roster spot Rotowire 4 HRS AGO Grove is on the Dodgers' roster for the NLDS, Eric Stephen of SBNation.com reports.
Despite holding an unimpressive 6.13 ERA on the season, Grove has been solid since coming back from the injured list Sept. 23. Since then, he's logged five scoreless innings and struck out six batters while walking one, helping him to beat out Ryan Yarbrough for a spot on the NLDS roster.
Dodgers' Emmet Sheehan: Gets spot on NLDS roster Rotowire 4 HRS AGO Sheehan is listed on the Dodgers' roster for their NLDS matchup against the Diamondbacks, Eric Stephen of SBNation.com reports.
Sheehan has been dominant on the mound recently, surrendering just three runs over 13.2 innings while striking out 24 batters across his last three starts. The 23-year-old's hot streak helped him beat out Ryan Yarbrough for a spot on Los Angeles' pitching staff, though Sheehan has yet to be penciled in for a start in the postseason.
Dodgers' Ryan Yarbrough: Not on NLDS roster Rotowire 5 HRS AGO Yarbrough isn't listed on the Dodgers' roster for the NLDS, Eric Stephen of SBNation.com reports.
Yarbrough turned in an ugly performance in his season finale, surrendering nine runs in four innings while striking out just two batters en route to a loss Sept. 28 against Colorado. As a result, he'll be passed up for the postseason roster while Emmet Sheehan and Michael Grove both earn spots.
Dodgers' Kolten Wong: Makes NLDS roster Rotowire 5 HRS AGO Wong is listed on the Dodgers' roster for the NL Divisional Series, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports.
Wong has gone 9-for-30 with two homers and eight RBI since being picked up by Los Angeles in August. He likely won't get many starting reps in the postseason behind Mookie Betts, but he's emerged as a solid pinch hit option off the bench.
Dodgers' Amed Rosario: Left off NLDS roster Rotowire 5 HRS AGO Rosario isn't on the Dodgers' roster for their NLDS matchup against Arizona, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports.
After slashing .256/.301/.408 across 133 plate appearances since joining the Dodgers, Rosario will be inactive to begin Los Angeles' postseason run. Kolten Wong secured a spot on the roster and looks to be in position to serve as a reserve infielder against the D-backs.
