But such a sad story. I remember the talk when he got tired after 2 or 3 innings, dominant as he was. Many people said he didn't like that Nolan Ryan was making more money. Finally, they did find arterial blockage in his shoulder but didn't think it was anything to worry about other than put him on the IL, but he collapsed on the field before a game with a stroke at 30! He recovered but never could pitch well enough for the majors and barely good enough for AAA. He was having by far his best season. He was paid the remaining money on his contract but lost it in some bad investments. He was eventually living on the streets just a few blocks from the Astrodome till I think a player found him. I think he was an evengelist or something like that. Also sad, he passed away of COVID 2 years ago

Leon Wagner was pushing a shopping cart through the Crenshaw District the last years of his life. His minor league career was legendary. I think he held the Angels' single season record for homeruns until Bobby Bonds tied or broke it.

Win #100 for the mighty Dodgers!! And the first team ever to have 4 straight 100 win seasons in a row, discounting the '20 COVID season, or it certainly woul'dve been 5 in a row. This team has overcome so much since April. First, both Pepperman and Catman went on the IL which meant that MIke Grove and Syndergaard had to pick up the slack. While Grove improved a lot, Thor only proved that he was washed up, and we'd all groan every 5th game. On top of that the bullpen blew game after game, and at one point it was ranked 29th in the bigs. In total, the pen blew 34 leads. It was all looking pretty bad till the trading deadline. We got Kike back, Eddy Rosario and Ryan Yarbrough and the emergence of Bobby, Pepperman, Emmit and the Outman. The rotation did nearly a complete facelift from opening day and the pen is now ranked #2. This is the first LA Dodger team to score 900+ runs. I've enjoyed this team a lot more than last year's team with 111 wins, even before the playoffs. There's a 6 day rest till the playoffs start and this team, without Cody, the Turner brothers, Andrew Heany and Tyler Anderson. The remaining Dodgers are thinking, "the fans were so mad at us last year, we can't let them down again". Last year's team didn't have any real issues to overcome, save for losing the Walkman, but he was easily replaced. Saturday nite!!!

Been battling some dipshit on Twitter over the 2020 title.
I wonder how morons like this consider that title as “Mickey Mouse” when EVERY team played the same 60 games and had the same chance as the Dodgers?
All but two postseason games were played on the road. And we also had to win more games (13 -vs- 11) than any team in the history of the game.
I HATE arrogant assholes like this clown but he’ll never admit who his team is (I guessed the Stains, which he denied) and what their trophy case looks like.
GO DODGERS!!!

Dodgers' Bobby Miller: Goes four innings in finale Rotowire 6 HRS AGO Miller did not factor into the decision Sunday, allowing one hit and one walk over four scoreless innings against the Giants. He struck out four.
Miller finished the regular season strong, allowing just four runs over his final three starts (17 innings) while issuing just two walks and striking out 20 in that span. The 24-year-old right-hander will wrap up his rookie campaign with an 11-4 record, 3.76 ERA, 1.10 WHIP and 119 strikeouts over 22 starts (124.1 innings). Miller has established himself as a fixture in the Dodgers' rotation -- he's currently slated to make his playoff debut in Game 2 of the Divisional Series against either Arizona or Milwaukee.
Dodgers' Evan Phillips: Notches 24th save Rotowire 6 HRS AGO Phillips picked up the save in Sunday's 5-2 victory over the Giants, striking out one over a perfect inning.
Phillips will wrap up the regular season having allowed just one earned run in his last 18.1 innings, going 9-for-10 in save opportunities in that span. While the Dodgers employed a committee at times this season, the 29-year-old Phillips emerged as their top closing option in the second half. He'll wrap up the campaign with a 2.05 ERA, 0.83 WHIP, 66:13 K:BB across 61.1 innings while converting 24 of 27 save chances.

Yeah. We're all broken up about that. If healthy he'd have been #2 in the pen behind Phillips.

Kapler got fired? I hadn't heard. Mr. Kotter was showed the door. As much as I loathe Daisy, I’m certainly glad we did not opt for Captain Bananahammock. But then again, maybe he didn’t suck Zorro’s (Zaidi) taint the way Daisy does Fraudman. Saw Speedy had a good outing, which is encouraging but should also be cautious about. He was throwing to a bunch of guys who had ABSOLUTELY nothing to play for other than giving their lame ass fans one last chance this year to spout their even lamer “Beat LA” chant. 100 wins - I’d never believed that when the season started. Congrats to another division title. Now, maybe try to make it back to and win another WS title. GO DODGERS!!! The difference between the two geeks running the VaGiants and Dodgers is that like Billy Beane, Friedman was a decent college player so it must help him evaluate talent and uses metrics as a tool to assist him. Where Zaidi is just a straight up geek that seems to be all about crunching numbers. I get a sense that Zaidi is running out of time.

That would have been the end of him.

So realistically, how far you see the Dodgers going this postseason? I won't be surprised, or mad if they get bounced early. Kinda hard to expect the kids to carry this pitching staff like they've done all year, and the bullpen is gonna get worn out. Going to be fun to watch (hopefully), but if it's a quick exit, it should be a good off-season to look forward too.

They cannot afford to take even a single game off and are going to have to rake close to eleven games in a row. One bad game in a seven game series can be damaging. Two could be “adios, amigos - see you in Glendale”. GO DODGERS!!!
