Dodgers' Daniel Hudson: Won't return before NLCS Rotowire 18 HRS AGO Hudson (knee) is slated to throw live batting practice during the Dodgers' upcoming road trip and could return to game action if the team advances to the NLCS, per the Associated Press.
Hudson has been out with a sprained MCL in his right knee since July 5 and has pitched in just three major-league games this season. He only recently resumed throwing to live hitters, so he still has a ways to go until he could potentially be ready for game action. The Dodgers have already wrapped up a spot in the NLDS, but Hudson won't be ready to return for that series. Should Los Angeles advance past that round, however, the veteran reliever could be added to the roster for the NLCS, which begins Oct. 16.

Dodgers' David Peralta: Takes seat again Tuesday Rotowire 16 MINS AGO Peralta is out of the lineup for the opening game of Tuesday's doubleheader at Colorado.
Enrique Hernandez, James Outman and Jason Heyward will start across the outfield versus the Rockies and right-hander Chase Anderson. Peralta has slashed just .146/.180/.229 over his last 50 plate appearances dating back to Aug. 30 and may be losing his hold on the Dodgers' starting left field gig. This is his second straight absence against a righty.
Dodgers' Caleb Ferguson: Opener assignment Tuesday Rotowire 25 MINS AGO Ferguson will serve as the opening pitcher in the first game of Tuesday's doubleheader at Colorado, Eric Stephen of SBNation.com reports.
Ryan Pepiot looks poised to operate in bulk relief for the visiting Dodgers. Ferguson boasts a 2.47 ERA and 67:22 K:BB in 58.1 innings this season, but he'll probably only cover the bottom of the first Tuesday versus the Rockies.
Dodgers' Will Smith: Sitting out early game Rotowire 29 MINS AGO Smith is not in the lineup for the first game of Tuesday's doubleheader at Colorado.
Smith will presumably catch in the nightcap after Austin Barnes starts behind the plate and bats ninth in the early tilt at Coors Field. Smith is sitting on a .796 OPS with 18 homers and 72 RBI through 122 games this season.

Um - hello - Daisy / Fraudman? The Flea Market “opener” experiment seems to be a bust. Dude is NOT a starter and couldn’t even get out of the first inning.
May be time to chuck this strategy and just let Dr. Pepper start and throw until he hits that magical number of analytic garbage pitches you so worship and abide by.
GO DODGERS!!!

I missed it, but see the line now. What a train wreck. Hard to win when you just score once though.

Laugher in the nightcap. Unfortunately, the Injuns erase a six run deficit in the final three innings against the baby bears to reduce their magic number for home field advantage to just one.
Looks like we’re destined to be the number two seed; maybe they get knocked out in their opening round by one of the wildcards.
The Injuns are really the only team that give me pause. Unless somehow the local Redlegs make it in.
They took four out of six from LA, including two here in Cin City which they were up big and early in before the pen blew both.
Obviously the pen has improved significantly since that series, but they have thrown a LOT of innings and I don’t want to relive 2018 when they were as spent as a hooker after a weekend with Charlie Sheen.
With the analytic twins playing things strictly by that book, we can look forward to five inning starts and four inning reliefs just about every game.
No way they are going to let two or three rookies throw more than 70 - 75 pitches in October, no matter how well they are doing or how many runs we may be up.
Their strategies have pretty much worked for most of the regular season.
It will be interesting to see if they can continue to be successful come October.
I’d love to think that another postseason failure might lead to showing Doc the door, but I think we all know that isn’t going to happen.
It’s as if division titles are simply enough for this group and as long as fans keep filling the Ravine and buying those $350 jerseys and $25 beers, they’re good with that.
GO DODGERS!!!

Dodgers' Emmet Sheehan: Making another start Wednesday Rotowire 8 MINS AGO Sheehan is scheduled to start Wednesday's game against the Rockies at Coors Field.
Sheehan will make his second straight turn through the Los Angeles rotation after a brief stint in the bullpen. He turned in a gem his last time out this past Thursday against the Giants, striking out a career-high nine while allowing one earned run on no hits and four walks over 4.2 innings. Though he's pitched well of late, Sheehan hasn't hit five innings in any of his starts or relief appearances in the majors or minors since late July, so the Dodgers may not keep him in Wednesday's game long enough to qualify for a win.
Dodgers' Wander Suero: Activated and optioned Rotowire 2 HRS AGO Suero (back) was activated from the 15-day injured list and optioned to Triple-A Oklahoma City on Tuesday.
Suero is over his back issue following a two-week absence but will not join the major-league roster. The 32-year-old reliever holds a 7.88 ERA over five appearances during his time with the Dodgers this season.
