Dodgers' Will Smith: Expected to bat third Rotowire 9 HRS AGO Yeah, I was thinking he would. So, the everyday lineup will probably look like this at the top: 1. Betts 2. Freeman 3. Smith 4. Muncy 5. Martinez

Dodgers' James Outman: Has chance to make roster Rotowire 5 HRS AGO Dodgers manager Dave Roberts implied Saturday that there's a chance Outman could make the Opening Day roster, David Vassegh of AM 570 LA Sports reports.
Roberts calls Outman "big-league ready", but said "how [the Dodgers] shake out is a different question." The outfielder has performed well over the Cactus League season, and homered for the second time this spring on Saturday. Even if the 25-year-old makes the roster, he won't be guaranteed significant playing time, but he's a name to monitor in deeper fantasy leagues and is talented enough to consider in keeper and dynasty formats.

Dodgers' J.D. Martinez: May see some time in OF Rotowire 11 HRS AGO Dodgers manager Dave Roberts hasn't ruled out Martinez playing some outfield this season, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports.
Martinez played primarily in the outfield for the first seven seasons of his career before transitioning to designated hitter in 2018. Last season with the Red Sox, he played all 139 of his games as the DH, and he hasn't played the outfield in a regular-season contest since Oct. 3, 2021. However, the veteran started in left field in Saturday's Cactus League contest against the Cubs and made a nice running catch on the first play of the game. Though Roberts' comments suggest Martinez could occasionally play defense this season, it's uncertain if he'd do so often enough to gain outfield eligibility in fantasy leagues. One reason the team may want to put Martinez in the field from time to time is that doing so could help get catcher Will Smith's bat in the lineup on days when he needs a break behind the plate.

Could Daisy be more wishy-washy? If the kid is ready and continues to hit like he has, why WOULDN’T you play him? We had a .200 hitter in CF for the last two years. Thompson and Taylor didn’t exactly light things up in the OF in 2022 either. The only decent and consistent hitter we had out there was Mookie and Doufus continues to flirt with playing him at 2B. So who in the hell else do they have? Martinez? Not an every day outfielder. Lux? Out for the year. Rojas? Infielder. C’mon, Daisy - use that thick Rubik’s cube of yours for a change and stop letting some book and computer tell you who and who isn’t ready for prime time. GO DODGERS!!!

Dodgers get 15 hits, Dustin May sharp in win over Reds
Story by Bill Plunkett, The Orange County Register • 3h ago
THE GAME: The Dodgers had 15 hits, including home runs from Jonny DeLuca, Ryan Ward and Michael Busch, as they pounded the Cincinnati Reds, 8-1, at Goodyear Ballpark Sunday afternoon.
PITCHING REPORT: Right-hander Dustin May was dominant over four scoreless innings. He allowed just three baserunners — two on infield singles and one on a walk — while striking out seven. … Left-hander Victor Gonzalez struck out two of the three batters he faced in a perfect inning. … Right-hander Phil Bickford also pitched a scoreless inning.
HITTING REPORT: Busch was 2 for 19 this spring before his two-run home run in the fifth inning. … De Luca also had a bloop double. … Steven Duggar had three singles in his three at-bats. … Jason Heyward was on base twice with a single and a walk. … James Outman drove in two runs with a double in the Dodgers’ five-run fifth inning. Outman leads the Dodgers this spring in hits (nine) and is tied with Freddie Freeman and Hunter Feduccia for the lead in RBI (eight). … Chris Taylor did not have any of the Dodgers’ hits. He was 0 for 3 with two strikeouts and is now batting .115 (3 for 26) this spring with 10 strikeouts.
DEFENSE REPORT: Heyward continues to show he’s more than capable of handling center field defensively. He made a nice sliding catch in the first inning, running in to snag TJ Friedl’s sinking liner.

Freddie Freeman just turned up lame the timing of the wbc is horrible Dodgers News: Freddie Freeman Forced Out of WBC Game with Hamstring Issue Story by Clint Pasillas • 4h ago Freddie leaves Team Canada's contest vs Columbia early. Less than ideal news out of the World Baseball Classic as Dodgers All-Star first baseman Freddie Freeman was forced to leave Team Canada's match early after appearing to run gingerly in the 3rd inning. The early report is he suffered a slight hamstring issue. Hopefully the issue was caught early enough and it doesn't affect his season with the Dodgers in any way. In a best case scenario, Freddie just needs to drink a little more water in Arizona. Freeman has been away from spring training with the Dodgers while participating in the WBC for Team Canada. He has just 2 hits in the tournament so far. He joined the Canadian squad as a way to remember and represent his mother who passed away when he was a kid. The Dodgers released a moving conversation with Freeman on the subject.

It doesn't look bad. Hopefully it isn't.
The Dodgers sure got a quality person in Freddie.

It doesn't look bad. Hopefully it isn't. The Dodgers sure got a quality person in Freddie. I think I remember both Kemp and Puig having “slight” hamstring pulls. I also remember both of them being on and off the DL (as it was called them) several times thoughout those seasons. Like Vassegh posted on Twitter - there’s no such thing as a “slight” hamstring pull. A pull is a pull. And this isn’t the first Dodger to be burned in this exhibition “tournament”. If I was the owner of a team investing hundreds of millions in a player, they’d have a non-participation clause for crap like this. GO DODGERS!!!
