They're saying Correa to the Gnats so that leaves Dansby. And, it's thought the Cards will get Dansby. I don't Correa wants to go lose in Fisco but if so Lux or a trade then. It's Lux like it or not. They've all but said they aren't spending this year. Gonna be a very different team this year full of prospects... Yeah, because we have to look at it through the lens that they ran away with the division by a gazillion games and always make the excuse that the playoffs are a crapshoot. So they'll go young and maybe win the division by like 5 or less games.

I get you. I was being sarcastic. It's not fear mongering but reality. I see it near where I live here in LA. That's why folks went out and shopped like crazy for guns on black friday. Last time I was in LA for the ‘18 World Series, I was AMAZED how much it had changed since we were there in 2011. The homeless compounds and camps were literally EVERYWHERE. We stayed at the VERY ritzy and expensive Omni Hotel, but within less than a block and then everywhere else we walked you couldn’t go two feet without tripping over someone laying on the ground or sidewalk. The Metro was just about as bad, with dozens of them at every stop and then walking up Hollywood Boulevard - well, you probably already know. Sad what this country has become. And the ditch we’re digging is getting deeper and deeper. GO DODGERS!!! Yeah, I just don't get why they let the mentally ill roam around mindlessly. It's cruel. I know it sucks but they have to force them in to an institution to protect them. The other people don't want to check themselves in to a structured living environment where they have to abide by rules. Others are just given money and food stamps so there's no incentive to get off the street or use it to stay high. There is zero accountability. I wrote about all this stuff in the community email that included the councilman's office, city attorney's office and local police station. We had a community meet and the city attorney assigned to my district was an asshole and if and when I see him again I'll tell him to his face, the councilman's reps were just blabbering about all sorts of crap and the cops looked mad about having to deal with the issue and us complaining. They've cleaned up my neighborhood but the homeless have posted in the adjecent ones, I guess I should be happy about mine and not complain. Anyway, I started thinking and came to the idea that this shit is on purpose. Obviously they "steil mony" but if the neighborhood goes to shit these developers can come in and erect these expensive apartment buildings and make a killing which they have already started doing.

Obviously they "steil mony" but if the neighborhood goes to shit these developers can come in and erect these expensive apartment buildings and make a killing which they have already started doing. 'Gentrifying.' And according to the plutocrats (like Caruso) we should be happy about it. They're improving the neighborhood. Of course some people who can't afford the higher rents might be displaced. But then Caruso can run for mayor on a platform that they'll fix the homeless problem, they helped create. I had two friends who lived in their offices. One did flooring. The other sold insurance. They both lived in their places of work. They couldn't afford an apartment AND an office. It was one or the other. When my parents moved to Los Angeles (1950) they were migrant farm workers. From my earliest memories, we always had a roof over our heads. What are the odds of that today? In their quest for more money, developers & speculators forgot about the people who put food on their tables. If it ever crossed their minds in the first place. Mental health institutions have had falling occupancies for decades. Now they hand some poor soul pills & there is no oversight. They take them or they don't. Your children walk past them on the way to school. How's that for priorities?

We've lost 2 big starting pitchers that were huge last year for us. No real shortstop anymore, no real third baseman and a huge gap in center field, and a bunch of 200 or under hitters. I wouldn't count on Ohtani as a lock next off-season. If this years signings are any precursor, dude will get a 500 million dollar contract from the Padres that he will turn down for even more somewhere else,lol...

@theathletic
The Dodgers are not pursuing shortstop Carlos Correa in part out of concern that a sizable portion of their fan base would not welcome the move, writes @ken_Rosenthal .
So where will Correa land? Don't rule out an NL West rival. ------------------------------ Fan base? Maybe too pricey which is understandable.

Selig was concerned with a high roller owning the Dodgers. I bet teams like the Padres never entered his mind. Preller has been huffing glue.

The Red Sox sign Japanese league outfielder Masataka Yoshida to a 5 year, 90 million dollar contract, after posting 15.4 million for the privilege of negotiating. Yoshida hit 21 homers last year. He's supposed to have great plate discipline. The article I read says he projects as an above average player. He's 29 years old.

Think I read something about him being posted in January.

Xander Bogaerts to San Diego. 11 years & 280 million dollars.
We might have to accept not winning the division next year. The good part is Preller is fucking that franchise up over the long haul. They have civil servants on the payroll now. Lifetime employees.

Wasn’t Machado touted as the “piece of the puzzle” that would take the Mads over the top? Last year, it was the big trades for Soto and Hader that were supposed to do the trick. Hell - look no further than our OWN once in a lifetime line-up and roster. A “dangerous” offense that could “explode” anytime it wanted to. What did we end up with? Another division title (💤💤💤) and another early exit in October. I guess the one thing the stains DO have going for them is they aren’t micro-managed by the puppet master and Pinocchio. GO DODGERS!!!

Which is another point. The Padres gutted their farm system to get Soto. Now they'll be over the luxury tax threshold. Can they do what the Dodgers have done & continue to stock their farm, while picking guys like Muncy & Anderson off the scrap heap? At best, I see the Padres having a very good run for a few years & then stumbling into the gutter.

The Red Sox give Kenley Jansen two years & 32 million dollars. Why? I'd say best days are behind him. I agree but I think he'll do better than Kimby did for us, looking like he was in the low minors. Jensen does bolster the Sox bullpen but not as much as he should. Age has caught up with him.

Think I read something about him being posted in January. I sure hope not. The Dodgers have always produced great starting pitchers to replace the old ones going way back to the late 40s. The team will have many imports for the '23 season than they've had in many years. I do realize however that it's the trend today, that teams will rely more on imports than their farms. Sad to see Cody go, but what other choice did we have? It'll be just our luck to see him bounce back in a Baby Bear uni. But there's one Japenese 3rd baseman who had an OPS well over 1.000 whose name escapes me. but at only 22, he hit like 55 homers and has great plate discipline. Obviously, facing major league pitching, his stats wouldn't be that awesome but he'd still do great. We'll have to wait and see how Miguel Vargas does.
