Yikes! Kid for San, oops, LA looks pretty good at QB after a very productive rookie season. To think Miami passed on him to pick “glass boy” Tua infuriates me to no end. We’re 1 - 4 to start the season with Jacoby Brisquette, a guy that has never ever been better than QB3 on any of the previous stops in his non-existent career. How he ascended to QB2 in Miami just goes to show how clueless and fucked up that franchise is. I think I read the other day they’d been through something like 15 or 16 QB’s since Marino retired. Obviously, they’ve yet to find anyone even close to replacing him. Tua wasn’t and isn’t the answer and will likely join Leaf, Quinn, Smith and a host of others as first round QB busts. So sad that a once proud and SB winning franchise with the only perfect season in history hasn’t even sniffed a game in late January / early February for nearly 4 decades! GO DODGERS!!! 1970 to 2020 for the Chiefs. 1988 to 2020 for the Dodgers. Sometimes you just have to suffer.

I have always had a plan to get the Dolphins logo tatted on my right upper arm to go with the flying ball Dodgers logo on my left.
I hope I can have it done before my skin is too old, brittle and saggy to support the ink!

Gotta give some props to the Brisquette - played much better than I expected and would not be denied on that game tying TD.
Shame the officials didn’t see or call the two blatant pass interferences on the long balls he threw in overtime.
Defender CLEARLY got his hands and arms on the receiver before the ball got there and both would have very likely led to game winning TD’s.
Overall a pretty decent game in Vegas.

Man, 2020 seems so long ago. I was basking in the Dodgers, Lakers & Chiefs. We're back to being a Chiefs fan is painful. The Lakers haven't been a picnic so far either. They might be the oldest team in the NBA though.

They might be the oldest team in the NBA though. Mahomes doesn’t look like the same QB we have seen the last two years. Are D’s starting to figure him out or are they getting more complicated that make them harder to read? My boys, in the meantime, lose two straight on two last second field goals against one of the worst franchises in the league (with Miami a VERY close second) and another “meh” team with an aging QB. Tua will get some props for having his best game of his still young career. But he still threw two interceptions (one to the end zone, negating a possible score) and the second one play after the D had forced and recovered a fumble. Neither pass should have ever been thrown. I don’t really have a horse in the NBA but I do still follow the Lakers, who I used to fanboy for back in the Worthy years. I still have the poster he signed for me during his New Balance Foot Locker tour. Dude had hands the size of frisbees! GO RANGERS!!!

Mahomes sure doesn't look the same. Note to Patrick: your receivers should be wearing the same uniform as you.

And that includes his mom and sister! I know eeww! But damn - if I grew up in that house, I’d sure as hell been trying to steal a look at them naked. Hell - I did it with my sister (as did most of my teenage juvenile delinquent friends). One even scaled around the top floor gutters on our early 1900’s VERY high third story home / business just to try to see in her bedroom window. Another time, he hid under her bed. EVERYBODY wanted my sister! They’d even cheer for her over me when we would squabble. Some friends . . . GO DODGERS!!!

Glass boy Tua out again - this time with a broken finger on his throwing hand, once again proving that he is a major liability to this team that I saw coming a MILE away.
It’s truly amazing ownership, scouts, the GM and head coach turned a blind eye to his history of injuries in college and wasted a number one pick on this clown.
Now we get another few weeks of rubber biscuit who pretty much proved why he was never more than a QB3 on his previous team(s).
Once again, how he got promoted to number two for the Phins reflects 100% on just how screwed up this franchise is and will continue to be with its current make-up.
And they released their QB3 Sinnet who was probably the one dude in preseason that actually looked like he had a clue. As of today, they have NO backup for the biscuit.
An in-experienced head coach and GM, both hired no doubt to meet the PC NFL quotas by an owner who should stick to model trains as opposed to a professional football franchise.
Don Shula must be rolling over in his grave at the site and thought of what this once dominant club has become.
I was glad to see they passed on Watson. I very likely would have bounced to another team had they traded for him.
Reputation and lawsuits aside, he’s simply not as great as the pondits and experts make him out to be. He had two decent seasons and then won only three games his third.
And they point to his “depleted line” and “lack of receivers” that third year. Was that really going to improve in Miami?
Fact is - he’s another typical tier one college QB that thinks what worked there will also work in the NFL, which is run first, throw second.
His inability to read defenses and change plays led him to that 3 - 13 record, not his surrounding teammates. We’ve seen it a million times and Watson is no exception.
Once these faster, smarter and more physical defenses figured him out, he was done just like the dozens before and those to come after him.
It takes more than fast legs and a big arm to play and succeed in the NFL. And the ones that do have been few and far between for the last decade plus.

Vegas continues to sow what it reaps with another bunch of “head scratchers” from yesterday’s slate.
The Football Club over the ageless Tom Brady’s?
New England loses their opener to one of the worst teams in the league (my Phins) and is now contending for the top spot in the AFC East.
Buffalo looked very normal the last couple of weeks; even my Phins pulled off a W against one of the top QB’s and teams in the league.
Mahomes looked like Montana again yesterday night, but that was maybe only his second or third good game this season.
I mean c’mon - are we so naive to think that both he & Jackson just all of a sudden suck? And how does the 30th worst D in the league suddenly look like one of the best after losing to juggernauts like Atlanta and Jacksonville?
Nope - there are higher powers in place that are beginning to recover all those slot machine and table game revenues that were lost last year due to Covid.
And you can bet (no pun intended) we haven’t seen the last of these bizarre outcomes this season.
I won’t be a bit surprised to see most division winners being only a game or two over .500; and the new 17th game might be the deciding factor for many teams and titles.

49ers getting over some injuries so they're starting to play better. So frustrating that starters are always hurt.

Another enjoyable moment - seeing the captain of arrogance Cam Newton crash back to earth after a loss at home to the lowly Football Club.
After proclaiming “I’M BACK” to every camera that he could stick his face in front of (and there were plenty!) in his first game last week by running a one yard sweep around the right end and the throwing a one or two yard dump pass for TD’s, we got to see what he TRULY has left in the tank yesterday.
And it’s not much. He couldn’t get out of the pocket to run and couldn’t hit wide open receivers only five or six yards down field.
There’s a reason nobody wanted him after New England released him. As bad as Carolina was without him, they certainly didn’t look better WITH him.
Cam was an excellent QB in his early years and tho I never really cared for his bravado, I did appreciate that he almost always found a young fan in the stands to toss a TD ball to.
But the game passed him by several years ago and with his age and injury history, he ain’t catching back up to it. Time to hang up the cleats and call it a career.

Niners, I saw signed Devin Funchess to the practice squad. I've been waiting for a big- fast wideout so they can toss a couple down field per game. I also saw that the guy made some racist comments previously though.

Chiefs are winning with their defense & that's encouraging because you just know the offense is going to come around.
Kelce needed to catch that pass that resulted in a pick. It was embarrassing.
