Dodgers' Mitch White: Still not throwing Rotowire 13 HRS AGO White (shoulder) has not yet picked up a baseball in camp, Juan Toribio of MLB.com reports.
White is suffering from a bout of shoulder soreness, and it is not yet clear how serious the issue is. The right-hander is one of the organization's top pitching prospects but isn't expected to break camp with the club, so there's little reason for the Dodgers to rush him along while the soreness persists.
Dodgers' Joe Kelly: Throwing from 90 feet Rotowire 13 HRS AGO Kelly (shoulder) has thrown from 90 feet on consecutive days, Juan Toribio of MLB.com reports.
Kelly appears to be rounding into shape after being shelved at the start of camp due to shoulder soreness. The veteran suffered from the same issue last season, and it's unclear whether the Dodgers are simply being careful with him or if there remains some carryover into the start of spring. With plenty of time to go until Opening Day, however, there's a strong chance that Kelly will be ready to pitch by the start of the campaign.
Dodgers' Chris Taylor: Expected to log time at hot corner Rotowire 13 HRS AGO Taylor is likely to see some time at third base this season, Jorge Castillo of the Los Angeles Times reports.
Third base was one of a few positions Taylor didn't play last season, when he logged time at second, shortstop, left field and center field. He's expected to see time at all those spots again in 2021 while adding the hot corner to the mix. Justin Turner is set to be LA's everyday third baseman once again, but he's likely to rest often enough for Taylor to get an occasional chance to fill in at the position.

Dodgers' Zach McKinstry: Hopes to fill utility role Rotowire 13 HRS AGO McKinstry is aiming to break camp with the Dodgers as a utility player, Rowan Kavner of Dodger Insider reports.
With Enrique Hernandez now in Boston, the Dodgers have a need for a utility-type player to fill his shoes. McKinstry primarily played middle infield during his time in the minors, but he has also seen time at third base and all three outfield positions. The 25-year-old slashed .300/.366/.516 with 19 home runs and 78 RBI across two minor-league stops in 2019 and looked good in spring training last year, so he has a legitimate shot at making the Opening Day roster.

Personally, I think it was a mistake to let Kike go. His numbers were nothing to write home about, but he had many intangibles that don't show in the box score. He was our modern day Darryl Thomas and a fan favorite. Now he's the predicted leadoff hitter at 2B for the Red Sox. I plan on watching him when the MLBTV is available for this season. All that said, McKinstry proved to be a good utility player also and with a little more playing time should be in Kike's league.

And I also don’t see him keeping that lead off position in the lineup if he reverts to his .200 BA as an everyday player. His range at 2B is also suspect. I always liked the guy as well and he had some huge hits and moments in blue. But he was never going to be a starter for LA and would have been a major overpay for a “utility” player. We still have Taylor, new addition McKinstry and a host of possible additional candidates who make it out of Glendale to fill those shoes. I wish Kiké the best in Boston, but it will be interesting to see how long he keeps his place as a starter and leadoff batter. GO DODGERS!!!

Derrel Thomas. That brings back memories. He used to make basket catches. One time he pissed off Reggie Smith (my favorite Dodger at that time) so bad Reggie ripped up a toilet seat & threw it at Derrel.
Before he became a Dodger, didn't he hurt Bill Russell with a dirty slide into second? Think so.
He wound up a doorman at a strip club in Gardena. Jim Hill used to go in there too. Ron's Barbary Coast on Western Ave.
Later he was a high school baseball coach & was convicted of drug charges.
I was the only white guy in that strip club. They had one emcee with a very unique style. As a joke, he handed me the mic to cover for him while he took a leak. He heard himself from the head.
"That's Winky, that's Winky, that's Winky! Sho 'nuff. Sho ya right. That was her time. Just lettin' ya'll know, tippin' ain't no crime."
He came out of the John busting up. I even sounded like him.

Same thing happened with me and James Worthy. He was at a local Foot Locker right after he signed with the Lakers signing posters & promoting his shoe line. Both my hands together didn’t equal one of his. My hand looked like a newborn baby in his. GO DODGERS!!!

Dodgers' Keibert Ruiz: Remains away from team Rotowire 3 HRS AGO Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said Sunday that Ruiz remains without a clear timeline to report to camp while he looks to resolve visa issues, Juan Toribio of MLB.com reports.
According to Toribio, Ruiz has left his native Venezuela and has arrived in Dominican Republic, hoping the change in countries will expedite his migration to the United States. While he waits for the proper paperwork to get resolved, Ruiz has been working hard on his own to stay in shape, according to Roberts. The 22-year-old catcher is expected to open the season at Triple-A Oklahoma City, where he'll be able to play on an everyday basis.

No wonder tickets sold out in two minutes last Saturday! I don't think there were 201 fans at the A's park about six miles from me. I had a mind to drive there and just in case, buy a ticket, but it would've been a wasted trip. I realize fans need to spread out to prevent Covid, but there had to be less than 11% capacity there today.
Now onto a happier note, two pitchers Orel Hershiser is very high on really looked good today, Andre Jackson and Mike Grove. I've been tracking Grove since he was drafted in '19. Orel said that if the minors weren't cancelled last year, he could be at AAA by now, and who'd argue with him, a major league pitcher? He's our #18 prospect and I'll be tracking him this year. Obviously, he has Josiah Gray and four other pitchers ahead of him, but Orel's remarks make me pay attention to him.

I saw the little taped / squared off areas they had in the grass behind the outfield wall and thought “how ridiculous”! I know these facilities don’t have even close to the capacity of big league stadiums, but I thought most held at least four to five grand. If they’re limiting ticket sales to only a couple hundred, that’s like only around five percent capacity, which again I find ridiculous, especially with the mandatory face diapers everyone is still being forced to wear. If it’s not that, then I’m betting a lot of ticket brokers are going to be eating a lot of tickets by fans who aren’t going to be gouged to watch one or two innings of their favs and five plus innings of scrubs. GO DODGERS!!!

Dodgers' Chris Taylor: Slowed by stiff neck Rotowire 2 HRS AGO Taylor is dealing with a stiff neck and will be unavailable for a few days, Eric Stephen of SBNation.com reports.
This appears to be more of a case of early-spring caution than any particularly serious injury. If the issue does wind up worse than initially feared and lingers into the regular season, the Dodgers have a deep enough roster to cover for Taylor if he's forced to miss time.
Dodgers' Joe Kelly: Returns to camp after illness Rotowire 16 HRS AGO Kelly resumed his throwing program at Dodgers camp Sunday, Bill Plunkett of The Orange County Register reports.
Kelly left camp Friday after falling under the weather, but he returned Sunday and was able to resume throwing. He has had a slow start this spring as a result of shoulder soreness, but the right-hander should have ample time to ramp up before Opening Day.

Dodgers' Will Smith: May share duties behind plate Rotowire 21 MINS AGO Smith is expected to pair with Austin Barnes in a timeshare at catcher for the Dodgers this season, Jorge Castillo of the Los Angeles Times reports.
Though Smith is considerably more explosive offensively than Barnes -- the former slashed .289/.401/.579 with eight homers last season, while the latter put up a .244/.353/.314 line with only one long ball -- the Dodgers value Barnes' defense to such a degree that they played him over Smith behind the dish frequently during their run through the postseason in 2020. In that scenario, Smith was able to shift over to designated hitter, but with the DH not expected to be utilized in the National League this season, he may get less starts than most full-time catchers. "If you look at timeshare, I guess [Barnes is] a backup, but I don't see it as such," manager Dave Roberts said Sunday. "I think it's a 1 and 1A. They're both very valuable, and I think that we've done a good job of using both of them and exploiting strengths and things to help us win baseball games." That doesn't make it clear exactly how playing time will be divided between the two, and Smith is productive enough to be a valuable fantasy contributor even if he's out of the lineup a few days per week, but the situation bears watching early in the campaign to get a sense of how things will shake out.

Dodgers' Gavin Lux: Regular role on tap Rotowire 16 HRS AGO Manager Dave Roberts said Lux will play regularly this season, and the team isn't "too concerned" with him facing left-handed pitching, Jorge Castillo of the Los Angeles Times reports.
The 23-year-old appeared to be in line for the starting spot at the keystone in 2020, but he didn't make the Opening Day roster and ended up with a .595 OPS in only 69 plate appearances. The offseason departures of Enrique Hernandez and Joc Pederson opened up significant playing time in Los Angeles, and if Roberts' comments are any indication, Lux will have the chance to earn the starting job at second base to open 2021. Early success against left-handers could keep him in an everyday role rather than being limited to the strong side of a platoon.
Dodgers' Clayton Kershaw: Set for Friday debut Rotowire 18 HRS AGO Kershaw will start Friday's Cactus League contest against Kansas City and is scheduled to throw two innings, Jorge Castillo of the Los Angeles Times reports.
The future Hall of Famer will get his first opportunity to face opposing batters in 2021 during Friday's exhibition game. Though fellow fantasy studs Walker Buehler and Trevor Bauer have already made their spring debuts, Kershaw remains the odds-on favorite to get the ball on Opening Day against Colorado.

And rightfully so! I thought he was capable of hitting mlb pitching when he was called up last year, a work in progress. Chris Taylor is best as a sub and start against lefties as he's always been since he joined out team. One thing I do'nt understand is that how he, a righty fielder, only hits lefty? I realize there are many players like that. I'd think he'd be a switch hitter. Right now, he's probably in the #8 spot but I think he'll be in the .273/.474/.348 range before too long.
