Just took the on-line test to be on Jeopardy. Pretty tough and I drew blanks on more than a few of the 50 questions that you have 15 seconds to answer.
I don’t see my phone ringing anytime too soon with an invitation to participate in the real game.
GO DODGERS!!!

Imagine being that big a closet case.

Started binge watching Yellowstone last week. My better half was able to get the first six episodes on DVD via the local library.
Then on President’s day weekend, Paramount ran the ENTIRE five seasons with back to back to back, etc. episodes over the three days.
We always thought it looked like it would be good when it debuted in 2018, but were afraid to devote any time to it because it seems every time we like and get hooked on a series lately, it doesn’t make it past Season One.
See the previous post on the NBC series Endgame. One and done!
And with this one being on a fairly new start up channel, we didn’t give it much hope.
Big fans of Kevin Costner, and he is excellent as the father of three siblings (two boys and a girl, played by Kelly Reilly who is not only hot, but has zero problems with getting naked!).
The Duttons own the Yellowstone Ranch in Montana which is now in its seventh generation and sprawls thousands, if not tens of thousands of acres near the national park of the same name.
The local Native Americans resent him (of course) and they along with other developers want to take some of his land to build an airport, casino / hotel and ski village.
Papa Dutton does NOT want to sell or give up an inch of his property.
This is a RUTHLESS family with MANY dark skeletons in their closet and they will do “whatever is necessary” to keep their land and ranch going.
I like to call it The Sopranos - Western Edition.
We’ve just started Season Four after a HUGE Season Three ending and cliffhanger (thank God we didn’t have to wait six or seven months for that!).
I can see why it has lasted through five seasons and continues to air. There’s a TON of cursing, significant violence and of course, the aforementioned nudity (which isn’t limited to Beth - the Dutton daughter).
Another thing about her - she’s TOTALLY BAD ASS and will say / do anything and everything when there’s something she wants or doesn’t want. She’s my favourite character on the show.
If you’ve got a few days to spare, I HIGHLY recommend picking up the boxed set on DVD or ordering Paramount Plus for the free month period they offer and watching every episode On Demand. I guarantee you will not be disappointed.
GO DODGERS!!!

I heard Yellowstone got cancelled. Did Costner ask for a raise?
There's a 'The Closer' marathon on right now. I love what a clever bitch Kyra Sedgwick plays.

I heard Yellowstone got cancelled. Did Costner ask for a raise? There's a 'The Closer' marathon on right now. I love what a clever bitch Kyra Sedgwick plays. There’s still eight episodes left to air in Season Five. Costner originally agreed to only ten episodes a season due to other projects and then it got to be very popular so Paramount and show creator Taylor Sheridan wanted more. Season Five will end up being 16 episodes and Costner has threatened to bail if they expect that many for future seasons. Although they are talking about spin-offs using some of the current characters, Costner IS Yellowstone and I would imagine they’ll end up caving to keep him a part of the show. We started 1883 with Tim McGraw and Faith Hill as Costner’s characters grandparents this week. Sam Elliott (who HAD to be a cowboy in a previous life) also stars and this series tells how the Duttons travelled from Texas to settle in Montana. Really good so far. It only ran 10 episodes and then we’re on to the latest 1923 with Harrison Ford and Helen Miren as his characters Uncle and Aunt. GO DODGERS!!!

Season Two of Perry Mason, starring Matthew Rhys in the lead and Juliet Rylance as his lesbian assistant Della Street started a few weeks ago on HBO.
The first season was very good and this year through four episodes is equally entertaining.
Perry takes on a murder case for two Mexicans who shot the son of a prominent, but crooked businessman in the early ‘20’s of Los Angeles. The victim was also into some very shady practices and deals.
I’m guessing the two suspects were paid off by the father to kill his son, but there are more than a few twists and turns yet to be discovered and / or addressed.
The cars are truly amazing, including one I’ve been trying to identify since last nights Episode 4.
It was driven by Della’s girlfriend, was a two seater coupe with a long front end, large center grill, doors that opened front to back and a trunk that curved to a center point above the rear bumper.
It had “Supercharged” chrome lettering along each side of the front hood which has me leaning toward a Chrysler, but so far I’m still stumped and looking.
Anyways - pretty good series and worth a watch.
GO DODGERS!!!

Yep - pretty sure that’s it - although the show is supposed to take place in the ‘20’s and there’s an awful lot of Model A’s and T’s running around. Most of the Auburns I’ve seen were mid-30’s; so much for period accuracy. GO DODGERS!!!

Watching Episode Five / Season Two of Perry Mason tonight and found it interesting to include a portion devoted to the construction of the LA Coliseum (named McCutchen Stadium in the series and being constructed to house the first MLB team in California).
The story is told that the country acquired the land via shady politicians and businessmen who “overtook” the land and housing occupied primarily via Mexican immigrants.
I believe it is well known that is part of the Chavez Ravine / Dodger Stadium story and have to wonder if this was done on purpose and / or as an “admission” of guilt or if was actually based on facts for that construction nearly forty years prior.
Were they SO ruthless as to pull this TWICE on the same people, or was this just a fictional account?
Fun fact - The LA Coliseum cost less than $1,000,000 to build in the early ‘20’s and was done so to house the outdoor events of the Olympic Games LA had been awarded to host.
GO DODGERS!!!

Been watching a documentary of Jefferson Davis all day. Learned some things about him I didn't know. The commentators have been painting him in a VERY sympathetic light. He still comes off as an asshole.

Stumbled on this classic old Rockford Files. It has this fake psychic. He uses Rockford. Has him bugged & followed. Then he gets 'feelings' about things that implicate Rockford in criminal activity. These shows are so cynical. Hilarious.
