All the King's Men is on right now. Sean Penn & Jude Law. I've never seen this before. It must be about Huey Long though. An American demagogue in Louisiana. He got assassinated. 1935? I think. Rarely has a state been so monopolized by a single person. FDR feared him.

Was watching Nick Music a little while ago and have to laugh at their hypocrisy. They will cut / edit lyrics they find offensive and / or disturbing to their young audience.
For instance, there’s a video by a new artist named Nessa Barrett - she’s young, but pretty hot - and it’s title is “I Hope You’re Miserable Until You’re Dead”.
They cut the word “dead” out every time she sings it and even go so far as to “blur” it out when they show the title at the beginning & end of the video.
I had previously noticed them cutting out lines by other artists involving “going to a bar”, “drinking champagne” and other similar “adult” subject matters.
Yet they have no problem whatsoever showing a video with a clearly gay man who changes himself to a transvestite, including a full wig, make-up, eyelashes and ballerina like tutu / dress.
I saw another one with the openly gay Lil Nas-X where he is clearly having sex with Satan and his latest where he is dancing in a male prison with dozens of COMPLETELY nude (with their junk blurred) background dancers.
It’s simply amazing what does and doesn’t pass for acceptable these days.
I don’t really have a problem with homosexuality and while it sounds cliché, I do have more than a few gay friends, both male and female.
But the way it is being portrayed and literally being shoved in our faces these days, whether via music videos, mainstream network television series, commercials and print ads - I just find that as overkill.
It’s like the way Tarantino uses the “N” word in EVERY movie as many times as he thinks he can get away with it because it’s “art”.
Most of the time, it’s just simply unnecessary and is strictly pushing the limit to see just how tolerant their audience is.
I guess there’s a reason we have 200 + channels and dozens of “vintage” networks that we can turn to for movies and series from the “good old days”.
GO DODGERS!!!

“Secrets of Playboy” (on A & E) as well as “We Need To Talk About Cosby” (on Showtime) are both running as multi-episode documentary style programs that are both enlightening as well as disturbing for two men a lot of us looked up to as someone you’d never think in a million years as perverse.
At this point, three or four shows in, I’m still trying to decide which of the two was more monstrous.
On the Cosby side (who has had a number of appearances in a couple of the Playboy episodes), he drugged and raped more women than most men have consensual sex with in their lifetimes.
And for the most part, many of them don’t even remember anything after the drugs knocked them out.
This was “America’s Dad”, Dr. Huxtable who changed the perception of many as a successful black father and family man who we ALL rushed home to see at eight o’clock on Thursday nights.
How could this guy be a despicable serial rapist?
On the Hef side, while I always found him a bit “squirrelly”, some of the things being revealed about him are nearly as bad.
And while most of the girls there were there by choice, they were still seduced and encouraged to participate in sexual activities, a good deal of the time via drugs and alcohol.
One of his long time “girlfriends” was on last night and told of how Hef wanted her to watch “snuff porn” with him. I’m sure most here know what that is.
Another time, he had Linda Lovelace to the mansion and got her so drugged and drunk that she gave oral to a German Shepherd.
She recalled a number of orgies involving Hef, her and at least nine or ten other women. I don’t know about you guys, but even in my “rock star” prime I’d have had issues pleasing THAT many women.
Hef is dead and Playboy is no longer controlled by his family, so there’s not a lot of recourse for these women, other than telling their stories for what little closure they may need / get.
Cosby is out walking free due to a “technicality”, but this series is certainly going to open more eyes to his atrocities and hopefully put him back behind bars where he belongs and should live the rest of his days in misery.
GO DODGERS!!!

The Endgame debuted Monday on NBC and all I can say is WOW!!! Morena Baccarin (YUM!!!) stars as Elena Federico, a corrupt and virtually untouchable international arms dealer who is scooped up and transported by vault to the FBI in New York City.
She is interrogated by several agents, but she is always two steps ahead of them. She finally gets the one agent she has been wanting all along played by Ryan Michelle Bathé and they trade barbs all while multiple NYC banks are under siege by Elena’s operatives.
The backstories and internal plot twists are fast and furious and just when you think you might have something figured out, it turns out to be the exact OPPOSITE of what you thought.
I don’t know if this is a mini-series or if it expected to go more than one season.
And even only one episode in, I can see it takes some intelligence and investment to watch (something that unfortunately eludes a good deal of the “instant gratification” viewing public), but I am hoping that however long it does last, the entire story based on this opener is told and resolved.
DEFINITELY worth an hour each week, if only for Morena’s cleavage alone!
GO DODGERS!!!

Been watching old westerns a lot of the day. I had forgotten the comical aspect of what serial killers the heroes were. I was always a bit warped & never accepted these guys could kill with impunity. The Rifleman just came on. They have a stereotypical Mexican villain. I'm waiting to see how Lucas kills him.

Lucas got one of the Mexican villain's underlings to kill him. He usually saves the kill for himself.

I don't think it's ever taken me more than 30 seconds to identify a Gilligan's Island episode. This is the one where Gilligan turns into a radio. Then he saves everyone by getting them to leave that cave during a tropical storm.

Phil Silvers is in it.

Oh yeah. Silvers is a producer trying to escape civilization. The castaways can't convince him to go back. They put on a musical version of Hamlet. Silvers steals it.

The second season of The White Lotus started this Sunday on HBO. Only two returning players from the first season - the always quirky Jennifer Coolidge and John Gries as her cancer stricken and dying husband.
The resort this year has moved from Maui to Italy and new cast members include F Murray Abraham as a horn dog grandfather, Michael Imperioli as his married / soon to be divorced playboy son and Adam DiMarco as the grandson.
There are a number of other players, including several very hot actresses who’s names I did not recognize but am hoping to see more of, if you know what I mean.
I did confirm something about those “secondary” ratings. A female can show full frontal nudity and only receive the “N”.
This episode was listed with the “SSC” (Strong Sexual Content) as well and while there was a scene with Coolidge & her husband doing the nasty, it was more comical than sexual with zero nudity (thank goodness!).
But there was another scene where one of the males was changing into swim trunks and although somewhat fuzzy & distorted, you could still see his Johnson for all of a second or two. There’s your strong sexual content.
It’s odd to me and believe me I MUCH PREFER seeing a nude woman as opposed to a man’s junk, but why is one considered more “sexual” than the other?
I guess the ratings boards are just a bit more uptight about male -vs- female nudity.
Anyways, the season started with a bang and it looks like this will be another winner for HBO Original Programming.

I didn't even know that was a series. I saw the part where he dropped his shorts.
