Apperantly the team is at $220 right now with these deals and we know the threshold is $208. I wonder what other veterans are going, Kike? Taylor? They are saying a starting pitcher. We'll see. I have to say that this isn’t exactly the “blockbuster” trade it’s made out to be. We take on half the albatross contract for Price who likely replaces Kenta in the rotation. We get a one year $27 million rental of Betts who hits a tick over .200 in the postseason, so at least that’s consistent with most of our starters. But are we to believe that the FO is all of a sudden going to change their strategies and pay Mookie $35 mil a year over 12 years (his counter to Boston)? Don’t see that happening. I’d agree with the Dog that the Cole and Rendon deals were absurd, but I certainly wouldn’t start engraving the Dodgers name on the 2020 World Series Champions trophy just yet. I guess I’m just one of those “glass half empty” guys and am tired of seeing the best team of the past decade continue to add onto the 30+ year drought. GO DODGERS!!!
Don't downplay this, JR. It's one of the biggest blockbuster trades in recent memory.
And Price wasn't healthy last Spring. Now he is. He's already throwing bullpens.
This is now the best lineup in the history of the Dodgers - that goes for Brooklyn and LA. That is fact.

@bnightengale The #Angels and #Dodgers still working to finalize their deal that now is expected to include Dodgers pitcher Ross Stripling. The Dodgers would send OF Joe Pederson and Stripling to the #Angels for middle infielder Luis Rengifo and two prospects. Still, a lot of moving parts. --------------------------------- Good for Ross he deserves to get a chance to start. Joe... 😂

Let's hold on just a bit. JR has a point. It's a fantastic trade for the Dodgers because only Dugie was traded and the farm is in tact. But, let's hold on a bit and see how Betts hits here and if indeed Price is healthy enough to be effective since it's still $48 million attached to him. Betts is way better than Joc but is Price better than Ryu.

But the chubby dude has been really good for the Dodgers. Some baseball people called his numbers ace like. We have one stud, a true ace in Buehler but then I think we have a couple of 3s even 4s depending on how Kershaw and Price pitch. I was ready to move on from Ryu at that contract but I don't know how effective Price will be until I actually see him healthy and pitching.

With Rengifo now there are a lot of players who can play 2nd base. Wouldn't be surprised to see Kike traded. Saves over 5 mill. Is there a need for both Kike and Taylor?

Analysts on MLBN are saying this is one of the biggest trades in MLB history.
Why are you downplayinbg it? You really need to wait to see if Betts will hit here? Not worried at all about that at all, he's one of the top 5 players in baseball. Lifetime .300 hitter with power, speed and multiple gold gloves in the OF. This is a big time trade.

I think Betts will hit and he will hit better than Joc, thank God. But will he hit as a that top 5 MVP player rate in the NL West I don't know. But, okay, I'll just wait to see what happens in- season.
