Dodgers' Justin Turner: Sidelined with back tightness Rotowire Sep 26, 2019
Turner is not in Thursday's lineup due to back tightness, Ken Gurnick of MLB.com reports.
Turner's back apparently tightened up during batting practice Wednesday, which helps explain his absence from the lineup over the past two games. According to Gurnick, manager Dave Roberts said Turner likely would have player if it were the playoffs, so it sounds like the Dodgers are playing it safe with four games left in the season. Jedd Gyorko is starting at third base in Thursday's series finale in place of Turner, who should be considered day-to-day.
Dodgers' Joc Pederson: Sitting vs. southpaw
Rotowire Sep 26, 2019
Pederson is not in the lineup Thursday against the Padres, David Vassegh of AM 570 LA Sports reports.
Pederson is 4-for-7 with three home runs and four RBI over the past two games, but he'll head to the bench with a lefty in Joey Lucchesi starting for the Padres. Kris Negron is starting in right field and hitting eighth in this one.
Dodgers' Gavin Lux: Retreats to bench
Rotowire Sep 26, 2019
Lux is not starting Thursday against the Padres, David Vassegh of AM 570 LA Sports reports.
Lux will head to the bench Thursday with a left-hander in Joey Lucchesi starting for the Padres. In his place, Max Muncy is starting at second base and hitting fourth.
Dodgers' Cody Bellinger: Gets breather
Rotowire Sep 26, 2019
Bellinger is not in the lineup Thursday against the Padres, David Vassegh of AM 570 LA Sports reports.
It appears to be a well-deserved day off for Bellinger, who has started the past 20 games, slashing .253/.349/.453 with four home runs and four steals over that span. Chris Taylor is manning center field and hitting third in his place Thursday.

Dodgers' Corey Seager: Exits with hamstring tightness Rotowire 12H ago
Seager was removed from Wednesday's game against the Padres with left hamstring tightness, Bill Plunkett of The Orange County Register reports.
The Dodgers labeled the 25-year-old's exit as precautionary, but it remains a concerning development since he missed a month earlier in the season with a strain to the same hamstring. The team figures to remain cautious with Seager over the final four games of the regular season with home-field advantage already locked up.

Utah's infamous "throwaway lineup." Which begs the question of what a throwaway lineup is if all you're going to do is bunt.

Utah's infamous "throwaway lineup." Which begs the question of what a throwaway lineup is if all you're going to do is bunt. With that bunch, bunting might be their best option. Tyler White still on the IL? He appears to be the only “scrub” missing. Poor Kershaw. He’s going to have to throw other no-no to have a chance at winning this game. Now watch - these guys will go out and score double digit runs! GO DODGERS!!!

Freese leading off, Maddon has Rizzo leading off. Seems to me that does guys have done well in the clutch driving in guys. I don't know I guess the new 3rd and cleanup order in the lineup is leading off

Turner out with a stiff back. Other guys playing an afternoon game after a night game. That happens a lot in baseball. You’re welcome.

Seriously bro, why do you always have to look for the negative attention.
What does Freese and or Anthony Rizzo batting LEADOFF have to do with:
"Seager not playing because of a hamstring. Turner out with a stiff back. Other guys playing an afternoon game after a night game."
Makes no sense whatsoever.

Sometimes all you need is one. Another spot-on perfect game by our oft maligned (including by yours truly) bullpen. Okay - so it was against the lowly Madres. A sweep is still a sweep. Let’s keep this going!
GO DODGERS!!!

Jr, seriously. Our pen is one of the best in the league. They have been excellent overall, that’s one reason why we have 103 wins.
Picking on Jansen makes sense to me, the rest of them as a group have been really good overall. Today another example. Forget sept 18th, things happen. Just go game by game, it’s really good.
