It was a slaughter when I jumped in the shower. Got out just in time to hear Muncy hit a homerun.

After hitting his MLB-leading 6th home run of the season, Cody Bellinger has now hit 70 homers over 302 games since 2017, tying Paul Goldschmidt for most in the National League during that span.

Yimi gives up a homer. Dodger bullpen numbers get worse, if that's possible.

BP exposed. We win though. Stewart, Kelly & Yumpin Yimini all with double digit ERA’s close to or in excess of 15. Serious concerns there. And Kimbrel still unsigned. We can’t continue to average eight or nine runs a game. C’mon, Kasten and company. Time to crack open that change purse and get us another proven arm down there. Urias and Strip will not be able to throw every day and you can pretty much guarantee Kersh and Hill will be on pitch counts their first few outings. Ryu has been our only starter to go more than five or six so far this year. As bad as the pen has been, imagine how shredded they’ll be by June if they’re throwing three or four innings EVERY SINGLE game between now and then! GO DODGERS!!!

Maeda was pitching great for five innings, and even hit in the top of the 6th and he got a double, so why did Roberts take him out of the game? It makes zero sense. I can't figure out the mazes of Roberts' mind.

Why didn't Roberts send in a pinch hitter? And BTW, Nolan Ryan isn't a fan of the pitch count, and who'd argue with him?

And BTW, Nolan Ryan isn't a fan of the pitch count, and who'd argue with him? I certainly wouldn’t. But we’ve seen this out of Doc since he became skipper. Remember the Stripling no-hitter? And I know you remember Gsme 4 of last year’s World Series. Hill at 71 pitches pulled, game & World Series lost. His unorthodox managing is odd, to say the least. Our pen was pretty much spent by late in the season last year and it showed in the WS. And we had a MUCH BETTER pen last year, IMHO. This bunch will be done before the All Star break the way Roberts has been using them thus far in 2019. And they’re not nearly as good as last years bunch. It gives me pause . . . GO DODGERS!!!

I'm not worried about the bullpen, it's just an early season slump. Just look at the world champion Red Sox! Their pitching has allowed an MLB worst 67 runs! But we know that won't last. When Roberts took Hill out of that game 4, I shouted, "get back in the dugout, Roberts!" I think he walked the leadoff hitter, K'd the next, then out came Roberts with the hook. I don't know if he listens to Honeycutt's advise on handling pitchers, but he needs to get over his paranoia of pulling pitchers after they allow just a single base runner in the late innings. I recall listening to a game WAY back in 1973 against the Cardinals. I just looked up the game on baseballrefernce.com. Don Sutton went into the 9th inning leading 3-1. The first two hitters reached base, and Walt Alston went to the mound and elected to keep Sutton in. With runners on 2nd and 3rd and no outs (better than the bases loaded IHMO), Sutton preceded to K the side, including Mike Tyson and win the game! No, not THAT Mike Tyson!

I was at Game Four and couldn’t believe he was “hooking” Hill. You are correct - he DID walk the lead off hitter and then K the next. But he had done the same thing at least two or three (maybe more - I did have a few cold ones that night) innings prior and each time he got out of them, allowing only one run through six and a third. The thing that killed me was the 71 pitches. 71!! And a pen that was completely gassed after the marathon game three. Just made ZERO sense to pull Hill at that point. I was getting a Dodger Dog at the left field stand when Puig jacked his three run homer. We were all going bat💩 CRAZY thinking this would tie up the series and who knows what might have happened next. Instead, we had to sit there and watch those dirty Sox chip away and eventually take the game and Series right from our hands. Game five was just a “formality” with Kersh and his usual postseason woes. I have said I understand it’s early and have seen both the Sox & once mighty Cubs struggles. I also agree they will both likely turns things around but they have the proven horses to do so. This pen of ours isn’t even in the same league and even if it gains Strip and Urias, they can’t throw every or every other night. Does anybody here thinks guys like Floro, Alexander, Ferguson, Kelly and Garcia can hold a one or two run lead late in the game to get the ball into Jansen’s hands? They haven’t shown that they can so far. And Jansen is still a big question mark in my book. His cutter is not cutting and a 93 mph fastball is going to end up in the bleachers more times than we’d like to admit. Here’s hoping Ferris can give us a decent seven or so today. He certainly was cruising in his first start before the fourth inning melt down. If that happens again today, we could be looking at a football score outcome. Now watch - today will be a 1 - 0 or 2 - 1 duel. GO DODGERS!!!
