Sleet is such a sweetheart you just can't but like her. But she's become outdoor kitty. Snowball is indoor kitty. I'm glad Sleet still calls this home.

Sleet was nosing her way in the door this morning when both Snowball & Sleet hissed & took swipes at each other. I picked Sleet up & took her into the bedroom. When it was time to leave, I picked Snowball up to keep her out of Sleet's way.

Snowball has two new infatuations. The bathtub & a closet in the hallway. How she got past & behind all those old VHS tapes on the second shelf of the closet is a total mystery.

They are amazing little creatures who get in and to places that seem impossible. Ours LOVE to go behind the entertainment center where there are more wires than our circuit breaker. Our master bathroom has a walk-in closet and the top shelf in it is a good eight feet up. I was getting something off of it the other day and found kitty footprints in the dust on the box. I have NO idea which one got up there or how she managed to do so. Would have loved to have caught them just to see their face and that look of “who - me?” on their face. GO DODGERS!!!

Sleet has a new scratch on her nose. A single scratch this time. I'm thinking Snowball did that. I was asking Sleet if she wanted to come in & left the screen open a crack. Sleet started hissing & taking jabs at Snowball. She couldn't reach her. Snowball's legs are thinner though & I think maybe she got Sleet. It makes up for a scratch Sleet put in Snowball's forehead.
They're both such sweethearts. I wish Sleet would just please knock it off.

Now that it's cooled off, the two cats are competing with each other. Sleet comes right in to get out of the cold. Then they compete for the human.
Last night Sleet knew to go to the bedroom. Good. She's a quick study. Three times she came out & ran back in in an obvious attempt to get me to follow her. When I finally did go in there, she slept on top of me.
Snowball laid on me in the living room. A couple of times I could hear her crying for attention.
Still, this could work out. They have designated areas.

Both of ours tend to go with my wife, especially if she’s sleeping in the other room, which is about 90% of the time. I usually end up with Harper when it gets colder because of the two of us, I tend to be the “hotter” choice. They both love to get in between our legs in a little ball and will usually stay that way all night. Even with me getting up multiple times during the night to drain the lizard, Harper will usually jump back up into the bed or just stay there and wait for me to get back under the covers so she can wiggle her way back between my legs. Funny little creatures! GO DODGERS!!!

She starts to sink down between my legs, & then digs her claws into my thighs to regain her position. The other day she grabbed on to something else. I shrieked.

Sleet came in early today. It was still light. She made her way to the loveseat post haste. Snowball was sleeping on top of the back rest. Sleet looked at her for a long time & then laid down. Snowball made no advances on Sleet. I picked Sleet up & laid down, putting her on my stomach. Everyone seemed satisfied with this arrangement until a neighbor fired up his truck to leave. Sleet then ran into the bedroom. She's been in there, alone, for maybe 2.5 hours. I looked in a while ago & she was sacked out. She looks very contented
One can only hope they're getting used to each other. The weather accomplished what I couldn't.

You can probably expect future “confrontations” from them as despite the fact our two lay side by side, against and on top of each other at times, they will still on occasion get into a hissing and wrestling fight at least once a week. It’s usually when one is sleeping and the other one wants to play and will start off as innocently as one licking or cleaning the others head or ears. That usually evolves into a hiss or two, and then one laying on her back while the other jumps and playfully bites her. Neither has ever drawn blood from the other and usually ten minutes later they’re side by side again. Izzie is usually the instigator and will start with the licking and then almost always end up at Harper’s “exit” chute. That ALWAYS results in “the face”, which entails Izzie’s mouth hanging wide open like she just smelled the most atrocious thing on earth. Which she did. She makes the same one when she’s cleaning her own “area”. We’ve never seen Harper make “the face”, but it’s probably because Izzie takes care of cleaning the “area” for her. Like I said before - strange little creatures! GO DODGERS!!!

Like I said before - strange little creatures! GO DODGERS!!! Sleet would jump on Sly's back all the time. If only she could see it from his perspective. An eleven year old cat whose territory was suddenly invaded by a kitten who would jump on his back. He would wrestle her to the floor & get her neck between his teeth. Then he would start licking her. The good part is Sleet coming back inside.

I guess Snowball claimed the kitchen cabinet because it was the one place neither Sly nor Sleet had left a scent.
Sleet just now ran in from the rain.

I was cleaning up & came across a bag the pound had given me. It had a blanket & toy grasshopper for Snowball. She quickly grew tired of memory lane & went after me again.
