How are Sleet & Snowball? Wife’s been bugging me to ask. GO DODGERS!!! Thanks for asking. Snowball is fine. Sleet is staying outside & that bothers me. But she's a good little cat & still calls this home. I have that pellet gun in the back of my truck in the driveway. Snowball has gotten much more comfortable without the menace of Sleet. There are scratches all over my hands from how comfortable she's gotten. I call her 'Kitchen Kitty' because that's still her base of operations.

They will find those little nooks and niches and make them their “primary” homes. Harper loves to hide under our futon in my wife’s 2nd bedroom where she sleeps most of the time now. Since she’s the major breadwinner now and still has to get up at seven every morning, my restlessness and every two hour bathroom visits were almost as disruptive to her sleep as mine. Thank you, prostrate! Izzie loves the two far corners of our master bedroom. That room is the darkest in the house most of every day and she also loves the breeze from the ceiling fan which runs 24 / 7. Cats are really strange little animals at times. GO DODGERS!!!

My buddy Armando told me Sleet looked like she was rotting. He looked up a bacterial infection that's pretty bad. It scared me into rushing her to another vet.
When I took Sleet to this one guy, he charged $345.00 for a skin test (looking for mange) & four products. One was a shampoo & that ain't happening. Another was a disinfectant. I swab that on her face just about everyday. Then there was Revolution. But he had said she didn't have mange. I didn't use it because I had applied Advantage just days before. She weighs ten pounds. I didn't want to poison her. The last thing was an anti-fungal oral medication. I tried feeding her with a syringe & have the scratches to prove it. I put it on her food & she doesn't eat.
Today I spent another $380.00 with no new medications. They did another skin test. Sleet has scabies. I'll use the Revolution now. She probably got it crawling under the house. Or she could have gotten it from her sparring partner. Maybe she got it from Sly. He looked very bad towards the end. I had taken him to a third vet. They did a thorough workup on him. I just stopped short of a $450.00 chest x-ray when he was dying anyway. They said nothing about scabies.
These people are getting paid as much as doctors nowadays. Do I have to diagnose my own cat? Sleet was such a sweetheart throughout this ordeal. The one good thing from Sleet flipping Snowball the bird is Snowball isn't infected.
I'll apply the Revolution tomorrow morning when Sleet is eating breakfast. As long as I don't take a lot of time, she doesn't mind. This pet dermatologist said she should heal up some more from the mauling. Just apply the Revolution & come back in six weeks. We'll give her another steroid shot.

Proof the first vet didn't know about the scabies came when I opened the Revolution. There's just one application. That would kill fleas. Not mites. The dermatologist said an application every other week for six weeks.
I'll call both tomorrow to price compare.

We're all three on the love seat. Snowball is clearly afraid of Sleet. Lends credence to my theory Sleet was the one who slashed Snowball on the side. She's still giving Sleet another chance by not running away.
I think Sleet was half out of her mind for a while there. That first vet botched her diagnosis after the neighbor's cat beat her up. Sleet quickly claimed my lap though. This is MY human.

Sleet has tried approaching Snowball several times tonight. She seems peaceful. Like she knows she was an asshole to her before. One time Snowball was in my arms & you could see the terror in her eyes. Sleet has not reacted negatively to Snowball yet. I told Sleet she's afraid of you & you can't blame her.
This will take time.

Having Sleet & Snowball side by side, I see just how snowy Snowball is. Damn, she is white.

Sleet took a swipe at Snowball yesterday morning. Then last night Snowball took a swipe at Sleet. What can I say? Sleet deserved it.
She looks SO much better now.

Sounds like they’re getting used to each other and good to hear Snowball isn’t going to take any more shit from Sleet. Also great to hear Sleet is recovering and looking better than Bill the Cat (remember that daily comic with Opus the penguin?). Bloom County! Bill always looked like he’d tangled with something every night!) GO DODGERS!!!

There was a loud screech this morning. Was that mean cat back? I was rushing to the front door & tripped. When I got outside Sleet came out from under my truck. She seemed okay. I picked her up & took her inside. Snowball is still afraid of the bedroom. Sleet will be okay in here. I looked at her in the light. There were no new marks. She must have chased the other cat off. Whew!
After a couple hours laying on my chest she asked to go back outside. It was light by then anyway.

Ours have been MIA all day. Had a smoke detector start going off yesterday morning around 4:00 am.
I finally couldn’t take it any longer and around 5:30 am got up and changed the battery in it.
That worked for around an hour and it was back chirping around 6:30 am.
I closed the door to the bedroom and turned the white noise sound machine up a notch or two.
By the time I got up around one my better half was pretty pissed, so I got back up on the chair and disconnected the thing from the electric and removed it from the ceiling.
Pulled the new battery (9v) and did the old “tongue test”. Got a pretty good jolt, so off to Google to see why this SOB was still chirping.
Went through ALL of the suggestions, from turning off the breaker, to blowing out the innards with compressed air to pulling the battery terminals to assure they were connecting.
I even pulled and checked the wiring to make sure none had come loose. Nada - but the damn thing just kept chirping away.
I was just about to pull out another new 9v, but the one I had replaced was from the same package of four that I had purchased what only seemed like a year or two ago.
Then I checked the date - good until March, 2021 - DOH! The whole $20 pack of four was expired!
Went to Lowes and bought a new two pack of Energizers for nine bucks.
Kitties probably lost around ten hours of sleep time yesterday and are still pissed off about it, so they’re making up for it today and probably tomorrow by ignoring both of us.
GO DODGERS!!!
