We have a below ground concrete basement foundation. I’ve looked under both of our decks every day. I still don’t think she got out; but if she is somewhere in the house, she’s probably passed. Food, water & litter boxes are only looking like Izzie is using them. If she’s still alive, she’s found the best hiding place EVER! FIRE DAISY ROBERTS!!! Cool or not, it seems like you would be smelling her by now. I agree - it’s just SO very odd that she seems to have completely disappeared. At this point, all we can do is wait and if she’s out there or someone has taken her in (again, very unlikely as she does not like or respond to strangers) she’ll eventually either find her way home or not. A friend of ours had one of her cats disappear for six months. I certainly hope it isn’t that long, but I’d certainly welcome her back if it does. No activity around the food & water we put out so far or the blankets and litter box. FIRE DAISY ROBERTS!!!

Then it reverses. Sleet mostly watching. But she was playing with Snowball a bit. Snowball got between the loveseat & an end table. Sleet was swiping at her. I could just see Snowball's paw taking swipes back. I'm glad for Momma that she has her young friends. Six months?

I could just see Snowball's paw taking swipes back. I'm glad for Momma that she has her young friends. Six months? Yep - they’d pretty much given up on him and all of a sudden, there he was back on their front porch. My uncle told me today that one of theirs disappeared for several weeks and when he returned they could tell he’d been in a few battles, but was basically fine. Harper has NO claws, so I don’t imagine she would fare too well against any other animal besides Izzie, who she used to love to antagonize and roll around / nip with. Di said the one feeder that we have was showing signs of someone using it and that Izzie RARELY ate out of it. She’s trying to keep the litter box as clean as possible and hoping that Harper uses it soon because she can tell the difference between their “deposits”. If she’s up in the ceiling and only coming down to eat and drink, we’re still hopeful she’ll get over whatever snit she’s having and holding against us. If not - she’ll be the basement cat that lives in the ceiling! FIRE DAISY ROBERTS!!!

New colour fliers offering $500 reward went into every mailbox in our subdivision today as well as two local vets within a 1/4 mile of our house.
Still missing; no odor from basement. Di swears the feeder that Izzie NEVER eats out of is decreasing every day, but still no litter box evidence.
If she’s up in the ceiling and sneaking down for food, she’s either “backed up” again and sick (which may be why she’s hiding) or Di’s just imagining things / losing her mind.
It just rained her for the first time in several weeks and she HATES getting wet. If she’s still out there, maybe this will drive her back to our front porch.
Still in misery just not knowing . . . 😿😿😿

Tomorrow will be two weeks. I don’t think we’re getting her back. I think Di is taking it better than I am.
She doesn’t want to get another one. Izzie is 15 and upset as well.
Probably the last thing she needs is the stress of meeting a new “replacement”.
We may get another “pair” somewhere down the road, but for now we’ll just have to cherish Izzie for as long as she has left with us.

There’s still a chance that she’s still hiding out somewhere in our house or she’s out there somewhere. We may never know what happened to her - she could show back up tomorrow, next week or next month. We haven’t given up total hope. But two weeks is a long time to be gone and / or alone for a cat that was nothing but loved & pampered for ten years. If she has passed, we hope it was peaceful and painless. If she’s sick, we hope she recovers and returns. If someone else has taken her in, we hope they are as good to her as we were and that she’s happy in her new home. FIRE DAISY ROBERTS!!!
