Snowball had a pink streak running down her back. Are you bleeding? I couldn't find anything. July 4th I was combing through her fur, looking for any rough spots. Her fur is so thick now. I found some rough spots. I worked my way through the fur & there they were. Parasites. Ahhh!! Poor thing. I put some Advantage on her. By the next day you could see improvement.
She had to have gotten those from Soot. That cat is jet black. No way his owner sees that. I wish I knew who owned him so I could give that person a heads up. Your cat is crawling with parasites. I could put some Advantage on him. But who's to say his owner didn't already notice & I would be doubling the dose? That shit is pretty expensive too.

Snowball is obviously feeling better. Last night she slept on me & clawed my stomach twice as she was slipping, & my left cheek once. I had to pull her claw out of my face.
Today she clawed in on the back on my left hand. I was waiting for the blood & realized she came right in between two veins.

Those buggers are like little razor blades. Of course, ours NEVER venture outside or have to worry about defending themselves. And while I have heard and read about the cruelty of claw removal, our vet uses lasers which he advises are virtually painless and ours have never had any problems or issues without them. GO DODGERS!!!

GO DODGERS!!! I'm going to check into pet grooming. She just now lost her balance on my legs & was scratching & clawing to regain it. I yelled & stood up. She planted a claw in my chest. Right by where my heart is. The yelling scared her so much she let go & ran. Man, I look like I fell in a rose bush. Kitties have no idea how high maintenance they are.

They do make nail clippers for kitties and dogs but you have to be very careful not to clip them too short or they will bleed. The other problem is they don’t much like having it done. They also make little “caps” you can put over their claws. I’m not sure how well those would stay in place or if they would be shredded within a few days (or hours!). I was engaged to this chick a million years ago who had a mean old cat with claws. Every time we went out, her hands and arms looked like she’d been wrestling with barbed wire. She didn’t seem to mind it too much. One of the MANY reasons why we never made it down the aisle. A groomer might be your best bet. GO DODGERS!!!

Just so happens I called a groomer about half an hour ago. Only 10 bucks. I'll have Snowball there tomorrow.

I wouldn’t even try to catch one of ours for ten bucks, let alone clip their nails. GO DODGERS!!!

I wouldn’t even try to catch one of hours for ten bucks, let alone clip their nails. GO DODGERS!!! He made it look easy. I helped hold Snowball in place though. His shop was in a very rundown strip center in Gardena. I could see how he can get away with his very affordable prices. I was the only white person in there. Two nice older ladies had their little dog in there first. We passed the time of day while they waited for their doggy. Everybody marveled at how pretty Snowball is. I also asked if he would take a look at my other cat, maybe next week. Sleet's fur never grew back entirely from the mauling she took June 22nd, 2022. He solicited a tip from the two old ladies. (How much change would you like back?). Their bill was $40.00. They gave him ten. I tipped $5.00 on $10.00.

I'm finally cracking down on Snowball. She's a kitty. She likes to play. She rough houses. But Sleet grew up with Sly. He was old. She wanted to rough house too. She learned from Sly not to. This is just who she is. She's been staying in another room.
This morning she jumps on the bed with us. Right away Snowball is on her haunches. Shifting her little feet. Getting ready to pounce. Snowball is far from stupid. This is also a pissing contest. Whose human am I? So I grabbed Snowball's tail. She didn't get the implications until she went to jump Sleet. She couldn't move. She turned & hissed at me. She knew better than to take a swipe though. She left Sleet alone. SHE left the room.
Later they were both on the bed again & Snowball started in. "EH!" She stopped & went to the far corner of the bed. Pouting. I told her I'm not mad at you, kitty. Just don't screw with your auntie. They're both on the bed again.
Sleet turned 9 in June. Snowball will be around 2 in September. It's pretty amazing how smart they are. Sleet was mean to Snowball when I first brought her home. So I may have subconsciously sided a bit with Snowball in the rough housing. Thet's been a year ago this week. Time to move on.

Soot was outside when I got home from a doctor's appointment. He kept backing up as my truck pulled forward. He was waiting by the door when I went to open it. He kept hissing. But he didn't run. There was part of him that remembered me.
He didn't try to run in when the door was opened. I came back out with a plate of food. He hissed & then gobbled it up. That poor little feller hasn't put on an ounce of flesh since he used to hang out here. Whoever is supposed to be taking care of him is dropping the ball. I'm half tempted to get some more Advantage. So he can come back in here. But as long as he's out there, Sleet is in here. So it works out.

Oh, yeah. One more thing: Sleet's fur has grown back some since I got Snowball's claws trimmed.
Hmmm...

Soot has taken to running in again. He's stubborn. I took months to get rid of his fleas the last time. Now I lead him back out with a plate of food.

We had our Siamese for about a year before getting Axl from a friend. He was a single kitten & was born in a barn / shed. Lived and weaned in this same space, so he came complete with fleas. Took us weeks to get them off him and out of our first townhouse. GO DODGERS!!!
