I let Soot out at 9:30 PM. I went to get a drink of water & he got up & walked to the door. It was kinda nice outside. I told him - "See you tomorrow."

Sleet was playing with Snowball this morning. She laid on her side & reached under the coffee table to claw Snowball. Then Snowball ran away. That was nice to see.

There's a new cat out there. A kitten. Black & white. I just fed her. Wife took the two idiots to the vet yesterday for annual checkup and shots. They do NOT like or appreciate that annual trip and are a joy to try and catch and get into their carryalls. $170 for ten minutes and four shots. And they now charge 3% if you use a credit card to pay. What another hose job - wrote them a cheque. GO DODGERS!!! |

Sleet has caught on to the new pecking order. No whining. No cheap shots at Snowball's expense.
Now Snowball has to catch on that Sleet WILL fight you. Play or not. Sleet just chased Snowball out of the room.

If anyone wants a lark, put a mask around a cat's neck. Hehe. Snowball is beside herself with joy.
That black cat walked in with Armando this morning. He was amazed at the brass this cat has. I said I guess I'm just the crazy cat lady from The Simpson's.

You can see Sleet changing. Sly was ten years old when I got her. So she was never that playful. I noticed her playing with things. It looked forced. Like - 'Daddy seems to like this.' Right now she's laying at my feet. Snowball keeps trying to pick a playful fight. Sleet fights her off & hisses. Then she goes back to laying at my feet.
After that terrible ass kicking she took from a neighbor's cat last summer, Sleet knows Snowball is playing.

Right now she's laying at my feet. Snowball keeps trying to pick a playful fight. Sleet fights her off & hisses. Then she goes back to laying at my feet. After that terrible ass kicking she took from a neighbor's cat last summer, Sleet knows Snowball is playing. Izzie is the “fun” one of ours. She’s constantly getting toys out of the box and swatting them around. She has a few that she thinks are her “babies” and they are constantly on either our first or second floor. She carries them around in her mouth while making this silly noise the whole time before she then lets them drop on the floor. What’s really funny is one toy that my sister bought for our original two cats (Murphy & Axl) dozens of years ago. They were both fairly young and neither of them wanted anything to do with it. But as soon as Izzie started investigating the cat toy box and discovered “the gremlin”, it has been her favourite one and rarely leaves her side. Harper continues to be the anti-social loner she has always been. She spends most of her day alone sleeping in one of our secondary bedrooms upstairs. She’ll come down for daily treats and maybe a couple additional times to look out the windows or whap a ball or toy around for a minute or two. Then it’s right back upstairs to sleep. She rarely will crawl up on either of us for loving or pets / scratches. She’s always been this way and at ten plus we don’t see her changing her personality anytime soon. Maybe as she gets even older she might see that she needs a little human attention, but I’m not putting any chips on that bet. GO DODGERS!!! |

Snowball really wants to go out. I really want to let her out. Just a few concerns though.
1 - She's so pretty someone will steal her for sure.
2 - There are so many new cats out there lately. She's bound to get her butt kicked. Which would further lead to someone stealing her. 'Look. No one is taking care of this poor little kitty.'
3 - Cats have a way of dying around here. Someone is killing cats. Three next-door died mysteriously.
4 - Sleet has become an indoor cat since getting her ass kicked & finally warming up to Snowball. Snowball would be going out there alone. And all I have to do is remember how badly mauled Sleet was.

I noticed a sore at the base of Sleet's tail yesterday. Today I noticed a couple small bald spots on her ass. Are you alright kitty? Then it occurred to me this is Snowball's work. She is constantly playing with Sleet's tail.
Sleet is a real sweetheart.

I noticed a sore at the base of Sleet's tail yesterday. Today I noticed a couple small bald spots on her ass. Are you alright kitty? Then it occurred to me this is Snowball's work. She is constantly playing with Sleet's tail. Sleet is a real sweetheart. Keep an eye on that - Izzie had the same thing but after a couple of days it got worse and infected & that’s when we took her to the vet and found out it was a spider bite. Poor thing ended up with a spot the size of a silver dollar that looked like it had been thru a meat grinder. Vet recommended not bandaging it so it could heal; we had to hold her over the sink and use the dish sprayer to keep it clean, which she did NOT enjoy. GO DODGERS!!! |
