Went to a concert Wednesday night and stood for three plus hours for the entire show. Just about recovered from that by yesterday when I spent four hours crawling around on a cold concrete garage floor cleaning, waxing and readying my bike for winter storage. Today, it’s do the same for the mower and then a full hand wash, dry and wax of my new truck. Thank God the work week starts tomorrow so I can relax a little. GO DODGERS!!!

Half an hour in & I've made a dollar. Ouch! Toys are stored for the winter. Four plus hours, but both vehicles can now fit in the garage (with the Hog nestled into her winter “corner”. New truck fits, but with less than a foot clearance both front and back. Didn’t even make a dime! But the bowl is full, hot tub is at a tasty 98 degrees and a variety of cold beers in the fridge. Winter sucks, but it goes by pretty fast these days, much like everything else. GO DODGERS!!!

Worked a 50th birthday party last Saturday. There were two parties. One an 18 year old's birthday party. The other a 50 year old's birthday party. I'm not on the schedule this week & didn't want to spend maybe my last shift in November carding kids. My boss was actually looking out for me & had me slated to work the party of 150. I took the party of 80 instead.
It probably worked out for both Eddie & me. I think he did slightly better than me. Parents were at his party. I didn't have to worry about parents looking out for me. Barely broke a sweat & made $125.00. Finished a bit earlier than Eddie & so helped him break down his bar.
Eddie is by far the most capable bartender they've paired me with. The party he worked was Spanish speaking. Mine was English speaking. It was perfect.

I am totally wasted. Maybe a 750 of vodka so far. You can't tell with me. I don't get automatically angry like some. It really depends on a lot of circumstances.
My tolerance is scary though.

My surviving brother is starting to scare me. He's been shaking between drinks for maybe ten years. Yesterday he said he doesn't eat much anymore & throws up a lot. Said he had switched to vodka after years of whiskey. His vomit is clear.
Our deceased brother followed a similar pattern. Got to the point he could drink but not eat. Like his body was rejecting nutrients. Mom & I had Dave committed the second time he passed out & quit breathing. I'm pretty sure the police killed him when an APB was put out for his arrest. To this day I view all cops with suspicion.
I promised to get John some Parkinson's medication I once took for Restless Leg Syndrome. It's worth a try. I should have him over more often too, to make sure he eats right. There's only the two of us left from our family nucleus. John never took that seriously before. Bet he will now.

Worked a funeral of maybe 160 today. Made $20.50. That was the last shift of this month.
December may be okay. Hopefully. But then it drops off dramatically until about May.
Hope I still have it in me to work next year. Sorta losing it. Showed up for work Thursday when the schedule said Friday. Luckily Tessa called me Thursday morning for Thanksgiving, so I had something to do. My brother John seemed relieved at the thought of not working anymore. I don't feel that way. I would miss it, even though people are sometimes annoying. They're funny too. I like the mind games. Keeps me fresh.

Oh! Talked to another employee & found out what a joke my supervisor Jorge was. All I said was he panics too easily & didn't know what the fuck he was doing. This other guy filled in the blanks. Two other employees nodded knowingly but were wise enough to not comment.
The upshot was he hides when it's busy. He shows up & nitpicks when it's slow. He's basically worthless. Okay. I figured that much.

I left more than that for our meal tonight at Carabba’s. We were the only ones at the bar and kinda felt sorry for the guy, but our bill was over $80 and I’ve always tipped 20 - 30%, especially when the service is good, the food is hot and prepared as ordered and my beer glass is filled to the rim. This guy batted 1.000 on all. Hopefully you get some decent holiday events and people are in a more giving mood as the Yuletide season approaches. GO DODGERS!!!

The departed was pretty old & so were many of the mourners. Usually these events have a minimum. $500.00 is the norm. After that I'm free. If they don't reach it, I cost $125.00. Unfortunately I don't see any of that. So what is the percentage of $20.50 on $158.00? 15%? Close to that? The problem wasn't the percentage. It was the volume. There were no kids. That's weird. What else did this other guy tell me? He had some really choice words for Jorge. I remember now. I asked who the manager on duty was. Jorge? He said no. Would you like me to call him? He had a sparkle in his eye. Like are you sick of him too. Then the other two guys laughed.

Worked a Christmas party today. Don't think we reached $500.00. I walked with $72.00. That's fair enough. Very nice people.
The next two days are double shifts. 11:00 AM again tomorrow. If I work till 1:00 AM that's 13 hours. They take out an hour for lunch on a double. So five hours at time & a half. I'll have to shift from one ballroom to another. I cut extra garnishes today.
This is Christmas money. Jerry is getting a Cody Bellinger jersey. Tessa is getting an air-fryer.

Got out a little past midnight. Four hours of overtime. Only made $148.00 total in tips on less than $1,200.00 combined sales. That's cool. I didn't really work.
A waiter mentioned this being the sales department's fault. That was completely unsolicited. He's right though.

Stayed up past 2:00 AM swigging vodka, reading the news, & asinine commentary on the news.
Waiting on a funeral party now. Work another function tonight. Then I'm off until Friday. That'll probably be the last shift of the year.
