He's in the insurance biz. "Shop" was just a turn of phrase.
Hope he did okay on the hotdog thing. He couldn't know this pandemic would come along when it did.

He's in the insurance biz. "Shop" was just a turn of phrase. Hope he did okay on the hotdog thing. He couldn't know this pandemic would come along when it did. Weve been lucky enough to be in positions that haven’t been effected by the plague. My company discontinued doing work at customer premises at the start of the year as I was pretty much the only individual that was still doing this and couldn’t possibly handle working the entire state. Since then, I’ve been doing everything by phone, email and fax and the company itself has never been busier. I received almost 75 new assignments this month alone & normally only handle 35 - 40. My wife works for a large insurance company as a worker’s compensation claims supervisor and she’s been relegated to working out of the house as well for the last few and probably next few weeks. People are still working and getting injured on the job, so she doesn’t really have to worry too much. She’s been promoted twice already and is in line for another after less than three years there. I sometimes feel a bit immasculated because she make over double what I do, but I get over it. When we first got married, I was making triple what she did and that continued for probably our first 15 or so years. Now she’s the big breadwinner and we could easily live off of her salary alone, so anything I make is just “bonus” money for vacations, new toys, etc. With no kids, we pretty much do whatever we want, buy whatever we want, whenever we want. Only 1 1/2 years left on our mortgage and a little more than that on our Benz. My truck & Harley are both paid for. Other than being captive in our own house, life is pretty good. GO DODGERS!!!

I am sick to death of my daughter's emotional baggage. Don't know if I mentioned before getting counseling in my 30's for unresolved issues with my father. Dad was a very distant man. Funny guy in a lot of ways. But he kept his own family at arm's length. Except for Mom. He sure loved Mom. But once I realized those therapy sessions were bash Dadathons I sort of backed away. They would bring up Dad & I'd get quiet until they stopped. They caught on. I loved my father.
I dumped Tessa's mother & that has haunted me. Made her VERY bitter too. Obviously that bitterness was handed down to our daughter. Why not come to counseling with me? Why Daddy? Nothing is wrong. It's all in your head. Then I would mock jacking off. Like - SUURE.
She hasn't spoken to me in two months, in our picture perfect relationship. Fine. I can do without you too. Where I draw the line is her keeping her son away from me. Using Jerry as a pawn. Just like her mother did with her. My father didn't get along with his father & so I never knew the man. That isn't happening again. Right now the only conduit is my former mother-in-law. I sent a thinly veiled threat through her grandmother today & her eyes got really big. No word from Tessa yet. She thinks I won't do it. I'll send another message through Shirley soon. Remember when you were 16 & ran away? Remember when Daddy said he didn't know who else was driving that car he was paying for? Remember him saying he might have to take it back unless we started talking? Remember him taking it back from the parking lot of your school? Yeah. Parents sometimes have to do painful things to get their point across.

So glad I ripped up the carpet & laid bamboo flooring down. Sly turned 16 on the 25th. Poor little guy. He's wasted down to about 10 lbs from 19 lbs. He just ralphed all over the floor. I had to move him real quick after the first deposit. He was ready to make the second on a rug. I moved him to the floor. Makes for easy cleanup. Unfortunately that meant accidentally kicking over a bottle of vodka. Donations are appreciated.

Replacing our Berber with hardwood flooring for our entire first floor was the best $4 large I ever spent. We still have a couple of area rugs which the two idiots never fail to find at least a quarter of the time. But they clean-up pretty easily and can be rolled up and replaced fairly easily. GO DODGERS!!!

I think I may have suffered a mild stroke during the night. My right foot keeps dropping when I walk. I just tried different shoes & they help muffle the sound (Comp! Clomp! Clomp!), but the foot is still dropping.
At least it doesn't hurt.

I see the general practitioner every month since a brain hemorrhage, but don't always tell him everything. The rheumatologist is forever trying to give me prescriptions. Even redundant ones. But I might need a CT Scan & don't think he's capable of doing that. I'll make an appointment with him to find out. No hurry. What's done is done. Right now this is more of an irritant than anything else. Emailed my daughter with the news. (Crickets...).

Had a pill pusher as my last primary care physician. Hadn’t been to the doctor in years, but back when they were really pushing cholesterol checks (well over a decade ago) I decided to have mine done. My wife picked this guy as he was close and neither of us go to the doc very often. My visits are normally limited to excess loss of blood or something being broken. So I go to this dude and naturally, my cholesterol is through the roof and he wants to put me on one of the biggie pills at the time. I ask if there’s anything else I can do myself to avoid going on pills. He gives me a list (change of diet, more exercise - the usual) and says he wants to see me back in six weeks to check on my progress. Other than that, I was found to be in perfect health. Good ticker, blood pressure excellent and even better than it should have been for my size and weight - tell him it’s always run a little low since I was born. So I leave, start following his program and go back six weeks later. My cholesterol was found to be much better and close to what it should have been. Now, it seems my blood pressure was significantly higher and the cure? Pills. I again said thanks but no thanks and haven’t been to see him or any other doctor since. I did have to go to an Urgent Care after my mom’s neighbors dog bit and nearly took my finger off - again, heavy bloodletting. I don’t trust any of them - it’s all about what they can proscribe and get their kickback from. Went thru my three weeks of Covid (before I or anyone even knew what it was) without even a phone call to a doc. Took some standard over-the-counter drugs and slugged my way thru it without a visit or hospitalization. It sucked, but I made it without dying. Hope all goes well for you - alcohol and a good bowl usually fix most of my ails. GO DODGERS!!!

Finally got a haircut today. What a relief. The barber rook my temperature. Only one customer was allowed in at a time. She gave me her number so next time I can make an appointment in advance. She does very good work. Said she had been closed for two months.
I'm kinda glad if this ataxia thing is permanent that it only did this much damage. What if it was a hand instead of a foot? I would be totally screwed. Already I don't have the same coordination in my left hand as before the brain hemorrhage. Luckily I grew up in an era when being lefthanded was considered evil. The teacher would put me at the back of the class so I wouldn't bump elbows with the norms. So you learn to use both hands, which I do when bartending.

Write with my right hand, but deal cards, dribble and shoot basketball left handed and can hit a baseball from either side of the plate. I also water and snow ski, snowboard and surf “left footed” (left foot dominant). But I play guitar right handed, tennis and golf and can only throw accurately right handed. Pretty bizarre! GO DODGERS!!!

GO DODGERS!!! I seem to do most things overhand righthanded, underhanded lefthanded. My oldest brother would make fun of the way I handled a pencil. I had a field day with his use of silverware. Found a silver spoon yesterday. Hey. What's this black stuff? Tarnish? COOL! Thanks Mom.

Feels weird to wake up without anxiety. As the alcohol would leave my system, it was replaced with anxiety. I would take a Gabapentin, Valium, Benadryl & maybe Tramadol, go back to sleep for maybe an hour & wake up feeling like a million bucks. Now I just wake up feeling like a million bucks.
No shakes. I never got those. John was amazed by that. He had them really bad.
Why does this family drink so much? Mom & Dad didn't. Dave wouldn't have made it this far if he hadn't been killed at age 39. He already had some liver damage.
I was thinking about George Floyd getting choked out like that & my 'buddy' the corrections officer putting his knee in my neck. That's a very helpless feeling. All I could do was dare him to snap my neck. As loaded as he was that was an iffy proposition. I just didn't like feeling helpless. Maybe I'll take a martial arts class to replace my drinking time, & IF I can ever get back to work.
Finally got a response from unemployment. They're processing my application. That only took two months.
My oldest cat Sly is in a bad way. I noticed last night he chewed a hole in his own belly. I'll swing by the vet today to see what we can work out. He slept on my lap last night. He's a sweet little guy. He made it to 16. I've never had a pet live that long.

Just took a walk & figured it out. It's my right calf malfunctioning. I can bend my toes down but not up. It's kinda numb. That's why I'm landing so flatfooted.
