Here is a special video for your changing icons LOL Tommy RoeWow, I remember that song coming out (funny how terrible and obvious the lip-syncing was-lol), looked it up, 1969. Liked it a lot. A lot was going on within the country then, and me personally, I was 15. My musical tastes were about to drastically change. Some months back I came across the video below, Buffalo Springfield on Hollywood Palace. Played it on the old site I believe. That change I'm talking about, in music and the culture, is to me captured perfectly by comparing Stills to Young in the video, their songs, body language, and attire. I absolutely love Stills the cowboy, Young the Indian. A nice production. And, the emcee is a hoot. I love history.

Seconded of all Thank you so much for introducing me or re-introducing me to YouTube I never knew they had all this stuff - things I'd forgotten about and haven't thought of in half a century and I really can't believe I just said that....however.... That is Atlanta's own Tommy Roe's Dizzy with that Bubblegum Pop, as it would be defined and The Hollywood Palace variety Show did you watch it on TV when it was first on? Yes, the emcee is Tony Martin who is singer as well. At that time, I remember The group on Smother's Brothers' show as well dress just like that, I like that fringe jacket Young had when I was a kid, those old Daniel Boone jackets myself. The Folk Rock Song "For What It's Worth" is written about the riots on Sunset, I don't know if you were old enough to remember the happenings coalescing round Pandora's Box (which is no more) at the foot of Laurel Canyon off of Sunset. and if you were a teenager under 18, it's off the street by 10pm unless accompanied by a parent, guardian etc.. From the first time I saw them at the Troubadour I Was impressed by; Steven Stills is a genius and guitarist, Young same notation both are so prolific, along with Richie Furay the folk movement was really big Dig the SF scene: With JA Surealistic Pillow

While I didn't personally experience the goings on on Sunset or in SF I was familiar with them, to some extent then via newspapers or TV, and later via minimal research. I was somewhat young then and a jock, and it really didn't affect me until about 1971. My sister and brother were right in the middle of it, they ultimately in hindsight kinda sucked me in.
Looking at that opening of AB, JS and White Rabbit, I can see how that scared the crap out of people. The dark rather strange attire, the song and lyrics, particularly compared to "bubblegum music", lol. D I CK Clark even brings it up, wow. Lot going on back then, and to come . I can't believe all the assassinations RIGHT HERE in the USA. Whewww!
An all-time fav video. Viva Santana!!!

Old Thunder drums Ginger Baker aka D'Artagnan one of the greatest groups I've ever seen.
Frank Beard ZZ oh yess have you seen guys in concert? The Moving Sidewalks Billy Gibbons prior band, use to hang out on the Strip at the Whisky back in the riot days.
Viva Las Vegas.....
He is Mr. Slick with a little number and the reason I picked up the guitar was because of him, and he changed my life...to me he was the greatest!

Just heard them humming, almost whispering this song on commercial during game. I LOVE STEVIE WINWOOD and Traffic. I should've paid tribute much earlier. He's in my top 5 artists, fwiw, Young, EC, Townsend, can't come up with #5 right now, it's Leon Russell.
