Papa, the long version.
Ok, got me a cat story too, backatcha billy (and JR).. Had me a cat named Papa, smart brawler thug from middle of SFV, ruler of the "hood" there lol, that made it about 7 years back up in a canyon in Chatsworth after moving here. Had to teach him about coyotes, used to have about 3 a night at least howling. The look in his eyes when he first heard the coyotes was priceless, he knew. Something finally got him. Owls, rattler, or the wiley ones. Too bad.

Now, this is when radio was an art-form, man this take me back when I first started in radio listing to Huggy Boy, Hunter-Hancock, Magnificent Montague, The Boss with the Hot Sauce!! Good memories... Thanks CK! In the late '90's I'd call into the stations like KLOS and the knockoffs of such "classic rock" stations as them at the time and request songs long after they'd stopped doing requests. I was relentless and eventually they'd play a request of mine, occasionally anyway. I was a PITA, meh, I had a point to make. lolol I'd talk with the DJ and bring up stations like KPPC, KMET, KLOS from early '70's mentioning ALL genres (rock, R&B, blues, country, etc. ) were played back then together, not some idiotic play list some marketing type/computer based on "ratings" and demographics would pump out. The DJ's I'd talk to all had history from the earlier era, all missed it as much as me and you. You are right, it was a true ART FORM. Smashed. Too bad. |
