Lakers' Anthony Davis: Questionable to return Thursday Rotowire 44 MINS AGO Davis (groin) is questionable to return to Game 6 against Phoenix on Thursday, Mike Trudell of the Lakers' official site reports.
Davis wasn't completely ruled out, but it be a bit of a surprise to see him take the floor again with the Lakers falling behind by double-digits quickly in the do-or-die situation. It could mark the end of the season for Davis, who struggled with injuries for a good chunk of the 2020-21 campaign. He tallied one rebound and one assist in five minutes of play.
Lakers' Anthony Davis: Headed to locker room Rotowire 52 MINS AGO Davis (groin) went to the locker room in the first quarter of Game 6 against Phoenix on Thursday, Mark Medina of USA Today reports.
Davis played just five minutes and didn't attempt a shot before having to leave the game due to his groin strain. He hasn't been ruled out of the rest of the game yet, but it would surprising to see him back on the floor as he was limping his limited appearance to start the contest. Kyle Kuzma and Markieff Morris could see increased minutes for the rest of the contest.
Lakers' Andre Drummond: To head to bench Rotowire 2 HRS AGO Drummond is expected to move to the bench in Game 6 against the Suns on Thursday, Shams Charania of The Athletic reports.
Drummond's time in the starting lineup looks to be over, at least for now, as the team is planning to start Marc Gasol in a do-or-die situation. Across 21.0 minutes per game so far in the series, Drummond has averaged 9.0 points and 11.0 rebounds per game.

Lakers battle to 77-64. How much did that take out of them?

Looks like the Lakers lost. It's 113-100 with about 30 seconds to go. The Lakers shot 10-34 / .294% on three pointers. If I never hear about "spacing" again it will be too soon. Either get a real three point shooter or knock it the fuck off. Run actual plays. What a novel concept that would be.

Lakers' Anthony Davis: Can't return to series-ending loss Rotowire 4 HRS AGO Davis (groin) played only five minutes against Phoenix in a Game 6 playoff loss Thursday, finishing with no points, one rebound and one assist.
Davis bravely gave it a go despite being obviously hobbled by a groin injury, but it didn't take long to realize that the superstar forward wasn't going to be able to continue. The disappointing ending culminated a difficult campaign during which Davis missed extensive time due to injury and finished the regular season with his lowest scoring average (21.8 points per game) since his second year in the league. Davis scored 34 points in each of the Lakers' two playoff wins and remains perhaps the most central piece of the team's future plans.
Lakers' LeBron James: Logs first career first-round loss Rotowire 5 HRS AGO James totaled 29 points (11-26 FG, 3-10 3Pt, 4-6 FT), nine rebounds, seven assists, two steals and two blocked shots over 41 minutes in Thursday's Game 6 playoff loss to Phoenix.
James was more assertive as a scorer in the contest than he had previously been in the series, taking 26 shots and finishing with his highest point total since March 18. However, he has outshined by Devin Booker -- who scored 47 points -- and couldn't carry Los Angeles on his own following the exit of fellow superstar Anthony Davis (groin) early in the first quarter. James finished the series with per-game averages of 23.3 points, 8.0 assists, 7.2 rebounds and 1.5 steals, but those numbers weren't enough to help him dodge the first first-round playoff loss of his storied career.

James wasn't all that assertive. A few of those shots came very late in the game. When it was already out of reach.

I've known people like Davis before. Hypochondriacs. If they aren't absolutely 100% they won't even try something with an open mind. Anthony might have limped out there, but anyone watching the game knew it was just a show. He wouldn't stay in the game.
I thought back to when I had a broken ankle & was hiding from my supervisor at work. I hadn't told him yet.

I tore both my ACL & MCL running to first base one night playing softball and basically DESTROYED my left knee. Players on my team said they heard it “pop” all the way from our third base bench. Hobbled off the field, watched the rest of the game and drove my manual five speed Toyota MR-2 home nearly 25 miles. Stopped by a friends house and had pizza and beer before heading home. Woke up the next day to a knee the size of a bowling ball; immediate surgery that afternoon and eight months of rehab. Street Clothes is just another U of K puss that will probably never play an entire season or live up to his overhyped abilities. GO DODGERS!!!

You're BIG. Get closer to the basket & work for high percentage shots. You're NOT Steph Curry.

Magic Johnson Blasts Dennis Schroder: "I Don't Think He's A Laker. I Don't Know If They're Gonna Sign Him Back Or Not, But I Don't Think He Brings The Winning Mentality And Attitude We Need."
Orlando Silva 9 hrs ago
Magic Johnson had harsh words about Dennis Schroder and his performances with the Los Angeles Lakers this season. After getting traded from the Oklahoma City Thunder, the point guard appeared to be that third-string the Lakers needed to defend their NBA title.
Well, that never happened, and the German player ended this season on a really low note. The Lakers Nation punished him for his poor games against the Phoenix Suns (he went scoreless in Game 5), and Magic jumped on that train.
"I don't think he's a Laker. I don't know if they're gonna sign him back or not, but I don't think he brings the winning mentality and attitude we need. He had a chance to show that in this series. And to me, he failed in this series."
As the greatest point guard in NBA history and one of the five best players in the franchise history, Magic has the credentials to talk about whoever he wants. Unfortunately, Dennis didn't really live up to the expectations, especially after turning down a 4-year, $84 million extension contract from the team.
His continuity with the team is doubtful right now. After this season, the Lakers will have plenty of questions to answer. Dennis failed to rise when Anthony Davis and LeBron James were sidelined, which hurt his chances of getting a big contract.
The scenario doesn't look promising for the point guard, at least in Los Angeles. When a legend like Magic Johnson calls you out like that, you know something was wrong.

That's chickenshit, Magic. You pick someone, who at best was the third wheel on a bicycle, & lay it on his doorstep. I'm glad they didn't give him $21,000,000 a year, for sure. But how much do we reasonably put on Schroder for the cluster fuck the Lakers became?
So this means that in all likelihood, Harrell & Schroder are gone. I'm wondering if Vogel survives this. I don't see how.

So I guess Kareem took a shot at LeBron. So far LeBron has been wise enough to not fire back. James had posted a meme of three Spidermans. They were all pointing at each other. Virus? Flu? Cold? What he was saying is he doesn't believe in the pandemic. Okay. I'm not going to argue that here.
Kareem thought that was socially irresponsible. He really laid into LeBron. LeBron has that coming, IMO. He comments on EVERYTHING. It's just the way younger people (not by NBA standards) tweet their every thought. I had a cheese sandwich for lunch & think it gave me gas. I have to pee SOOO bad. Am I getting fat? NO ONE CARES! Shut the fuck up & play basketball. If I wanted the world according to LeBron James, I would follow you on Twitter. Dimwit. Win some damn games for a change.
Hopefully James emerges a more prudent man. I don't care about your politics. I don't give a shit about your personal life. Just win.
