I swear to God I'll go postal if Betts needs surgery. Kershaw too. We can't forget Clayton's arm injury.

I swear to God I'll go postal if Betts needs surgery. Kershaw too. We can't forget Clayton's arm injury. Guess all that BS about staying in Cali & playing for a contender by Scherzer was just that. Seager, too. These guys don’t give two shits about anything but their bank accounts. Who would knowingly go to a perennial loser like the Rangers? Our big moves have been Heaney and now a second stint with Hudson? It’ll be a miracle if we can even retain IL king Kershaw. I’m not mad, though. Maybe a year or two of sucking may lead to the exodus of Doc. And maybe then we’ll enjoy playing in mid October instead of just the first week. GO DODGERS!!!

Dodgers' Max Muncy reveals his elbow injury is torn UCL: 'I'm not recovering as quick as I would like'Muncy got hurt on the final day of the 2021 regular season Matt Snyder All-Star Dodgers infielder Max Muncy seriously injured his left elbow during the last game of the 2021 MLB regular season on a collision at first base. At the time, the word from the team was that Muncy had dislocated his elbow and that there was a chance he could play in the World Series, if they advanced that far. We never got the chance to find out any further injury details as the Dodgers were eliminated by the Braves in the NLCS. Here's a look at the play that sidelined Muncy for October: A torn UCL? That would be the ulnar-collateral ligament, which is the elbow ligament that when torn usually requires the notorious "Tommy John surgery" to be repaired. There are non-surgical ways to treat the injury and given that this is Muncy's non-throwing arm, it seems that's the route he and the Dodgers have chosen. It also seems like it'll be a long road back -- remember, even if he doesn't throw with that arm, it's quite integral to his swing -- even without surgery being necessary. We won't speculate as to how long. We'll just lay out how long we have until different key dates, assuming the impending lockout doesn't delay anything on the field. Spring training position players report generally around Feb. 20. That would be around 12 weeks or three months from now. ng training position players report generally around Feb. 20. That would be around 12 weeks or three months from now. Opening day for the Dodgers is March 31. That would be about 17 1/2 weeks away, so a touch over four months from now. Memorial Day weekend is roughly six months away. The All-Star break is about 7 1/2 months away. Speculate away how long it'll take Muncy to get back up to MLB game Muncy, 31, was a stabilizing force in the Dodgers' offense last year as the club through several major injuries and was still one of the better groups in baseball. He hit .249/.368/.527 (138 OPS+) with 26 doubles, two triples, 36 homers, 94 RBI, 95 runs and 4.9 WAR. He finished 10th in the NL in MVP voting. By Matt Snyder 49 mins ago 1 min Docs said the injury didn't require surgery at the time, but he'd have to be idle in the meantime. But how often do docs say "it's worse than we first thought"? Much more than the opposite! Why do the baseball gods have such a grudge against our team?

Edwin Rios Has Started Swinging A Bat After Season Ending Surgery
Edwin’s big swing could be back on the field in 2022 by AJ Gonzalez 11/04/2021, 11:00 AM
In a 162 game season, it’s easy to forget about the guys who got injured early on. We were reminded of Dustin May after he was seen throwing a ball after his Tommy John surgery that cost him his 2021 season. Now it’s time to remember Edwin Rios.
Rios was lost to a partially torn labrum in his right shoulder, ending his season back in May. This was a tough one for Dodger fans and for Rios. The slugger was struggling mightily before the surgery. His 2021 campaign ended with him going just 4 for 51, posting a .354 OPS. This was tough on Rios because when he was struggling, the fans were really getting on him. He was whiffing at a legendary rate.
However, when it came out he had been playing through a pretty serious injury, it sure explained a lot. Fans can be tough when a player is struggling, but to find out that his beautiful swing was hampered by a serious shoulder injury was heartbreaking for Rios.
The Beautiful Swing Returns Dustin May appears to be rehabbing with Rios, as he posted this video to his Instagram of Rios back in the cage, swinging the bat.
What Can A Healthy Rios Bring Again?
Rios had great success in limited 2020 play. This is a quote from a Dodgers Nation piece from last September!
“In only 75 at-bats this season, Ríos has 14 extra-base hits — 8 home runs, 6 doubles. At that rate, he is hitting a homer once every 10.6 at-bats, which is just ridiculous. To top it off, his average exit velocity of 92.6 MPH puts him in the top 15% of all hitters. In other words, if he puts a ball in play, you’ll hear it.”
That beautiful swing provides a tremendous amount of power. Rios will likely always be a high strikeout guy, but that’s okay. Rios brings the power. The Dodgers will be happy to have another power-hitting lefty back and add to the bench options for the 2022 season.

I didn't even know about this until this morning.
ey Seager, Rangers agree to 10-year, $325 million contract as star shortstop leaves Dodgers
Seager had spent his entire career with the Dodgers to this point
Matt Snyder By Matt Snyder & R.J. Anderson 22 hrs ago 2 min readFree agent shortstop Corey Seager has agreed to sign with the Texas Rangers, CBS Sports HQ's Jim Bowden confirmed Monday. Seager, who had spent his entire career with the Dodgers, will be inking a 10-year contract worth $325 million.
Seager is the second massive commitment to a middle infielder the Rangers have made in the last two days. On Sunday, they agreed to terms with Marcus Semien on a seven-year deal worth $175 million. Seager and Semien will, evidently, form Texas' double-play combination for most of the rest of the decade. The Rangers have also signed starting pitcher Jon Gray and outfielder Kole Calhoun in recent days as they attempt to overhaul a roster that finished 60-102 last season. The Rangers haven't made the postseason since 2016. They've finished last in three of the last four years, including each of the past two.
Seager, 27, entered the offseason ranked as CBS Sports' second best free agent. Here's what we wrote at the time:
Seager can really hit. He had the fourth-highest OPS+ among non-first-base infielders over the past two seasons, trailing only Fernando Tatis Jr., Trea Turner, and José Ramírez. He also ranked in the 80th percentile or better in 2021 in two important categories: 1) percentage of batted balls that had exit velocities above 95 mph, and 2) percentage of batted balls with a launch angle between 10 and 30 degrees. That he was able to post such numbers despite a trigger-happy approach (his swing rate was almost identical to Yermín Mercedes') is a testament to his feel for contact. If there are areas for reservation with Seager, they concern his past back woes and his long-term defensive position. He tends to struggle coming in on balls, and it's possible he'll have to slide to the hot corner sooner than later. The bat will play there.
Seager was drafted in the first round (18th overall) out of high school by the Dodgers in 2012 and debuted in 2015. Now after seven years with the Dodgers, he's a career .297/.367/.504 (131 OPS+) hitter with two All-Star appearances and a gigantic payday in his first foray into free agency. Last season, Seager missed a good chunk of time due to a fractured right hand he suffered when getting hit by a pitch on May 15. In the 95 games he played, he hit .306/.394/.521 (145 OPS+) with 22 doubles, three triples, 16 homers, 57 RBI, 54 runs and 3.7 WAR.

I said the Scherzer signing was insane. Pardon me for not being PC with this. This signing is retarded.

Twitter is all abuzz with Freddie Freeman rumors and sources are reporting he is very close to signing with the Dodgers - $180 mil for eight years.
Seems fairly reasonable in today’s market, but he’ll be 40 in that last year. I guess he may still be productive as a DH toward the end of the contract if the NL adds that rule.
I don’t know if we’d want a 40 year old playing everyday, even at first base.
If this is true and happens, I hope they have enough in reserve to re-sign both Taylor & Kershaw. We’re still going to need BOTH of those guys.
GO DODGERS!!!

But, really, I rather they go get a 3rd baseman. It was years before Beltre filled it and then years (I believe) until JT filled it.

Looks like CT3 is going to be locked up in blue for the next five. Knebel reportedly going to sign with the Phillies. Another money grab, no doubt. Hard to understand why guys leave a perennial contender to go to teams with little to no chance of postseason play. I mean really - how much is enough? Most of us get by an entire lifetime on what these guys make in a year (or even less!). And do so PLAYING A GAME most of us would give our sacks to play for a “career” at the league minimum. STOP THE INSANITY!!! GO DODGERS!!!

I think it was REAL close - believe I saw $100 mil over five years. That’s about as on the money as you can get. Now let’s get Kersh & Freeman locked up. GO DODGERS!!!

Now seeing $140 mil over five. $28 mil a year for a very good, but still, a UTILITY player. He’ll get more than his share of starts, but still . . .
That’s a helluva payoff for a “secondary” player.
GO DODGERS!!!
