Bulldog took his family to Fenway. Sshhh! I'm going to hit him up for a loan.
you're right, that was me. and it was not "boasting" like the other guy said. kind of uncalled for but whatever.
these poor baseball players, they are treated so poorly!!!
Aw come on, I didn't mean it sarcastically. I for one envied you. Whatever you paid for the tickets would probably have bought you a season ticket back in '96.

Dodgers' Cody Bellinger: Homers in spring finale
Rotowire Mar 27, 2019
Bellinger went 1-for-3 with a three-run home run in Tuesday's 9-2 exhibition win over the Angels.
Bellinger finished spring training with an .835 OPS and a team-high four long balls over 62 plate appearances. The 23-year-old consistently slotted in as either the No. 5 or 6 hitter in the Dodgers' final handful of spring games, making it reasonable to pencil him in for a spot in the bottom half of the lineup when the team begins its regular season Thursday versus the Diamondbacks.
Dodgers' A.J. Pollock: Hits fifth in third straight game
Rotowire Mar 27, 2019
Pollock batted fifth and went 1-for-2 with a walk, two runs and an RBI in Tuesday's 9-2 exhibition win over the Angels.
Pollock slotted in as the Dodgers' leadoff man in most of the team's early spring games, but he hit fifth in each of the final three contests. The lineups the Dodgers used Monday and Tuesday consisted entirely of regulars, so there's reason to think manager Dave Roberts may deploy Pollock in the heart of the order when the regular season opens Thursday with a four-game set against the center fielder's former squad, the Diamondbacks. If Pollock sticks as the No. 5 hitter for the majority of the season and health prevails, he would have a good chance of cruising past his previous career high of 76 RBI, but his stolen-base opportunities would likely suffer.

Dodgers' Clayton Kershaw: Another simulated game on tap
Rotowire Mar 27, 2019
Manager Dave Roberts said that Kershaw (shoulder) will throw a three-inning simulated game Saturday, Jorge Castillo of the Los Angeles Times reports.
Kershaw completed his first simulated game Monday without incident, so he'll be given a slightly longer leash this weekend while continuing to face hitters in a controlled setting. The Dodgers should map out the next steps in Kershaw's recovery program upon re-evaluating him Saturday, with a minor-league rehab outing perhaps coming after the second simulated game. The southpaw will open the season the Dodgers' injured list but looks on track to debut at some point in April if he avoids any further snags in his rehab.
Dodgers' Julio Urias: Perfect in final spring tuneup Rotowire Mar 27, 2019
Urias tossed four perfect innings Tuesday in the Dodgers' 9-2 exhibition win over the Angels, notching four strikeouts in the 42-pitch outing.
Urias completed an outstanding spring with his best start to date, finishing the exhibition slate with a 1.72 ERA, 0.51 WHIP, 15:3 K:BB and .098 batting-average against over 15.2 frames. According to Rowan Kavner of the Dodgers' official site, Urias sported a mid-to-high-90s fastball during the outing, roughly in line with the velocity he flashed in the 2018 posteason. Now well removed from the June 2017 shoulder surgery that threatened to derail his career, Urias is expected to start the Dodgers' fifth game of the season April 1 versus the Giants and could earn multiple turns while Clayton Kershaw (shoulder) and Rich Hill (knee) are both on the injured list.

Hated the outcome but glad we made the trip out west. Like you said - we may never get another chance to see our boys in a World Series - especially at our age 😝. We’ve gotten pretty spoiled this decade with the divisional titles and sure, we’ll contend again this. But nothing is guaranteed and a third appearance in a row isn’t going to get any easier than the last two. Game one tomorrow on our way to that goal. GO DODGERS!!!

So true. I just made my wager this morning for Dodgers to win it all. 7-1 odds.
This is the year I collect!!

Barnes hit a homerun as our catcher. Pederson had 2 as our leftfielder. Bellinger had one as the rightfielder. He could have hit that as our first baseman? Muncy hit one there.

We lost a lot of homers with Puig, Kemp & Grandal. Maybe. We gained a lot back in OBP, this team will be different. Seager is an upgrade. YUP!!! Pollock OBP I trust will be better. Hopefully JT all year. 2nd base Upgrade. Muncy will be a key part. Bench is incredible. This team winning the WS depends on the bullpen. Everything else is good enough.

We lost a lot of homers with Puig, Kemp & Grandal. Yeah, but it's just as well. So many of our homers last year were solo jobs. And this stat was pointed out on the MLB channel a few weeks ago: We scored 10+ runs in more games than any other team in the bigs last year, but 5+ games, we were in the middle of the pack, so the mere run total, though we led the NL, was pretty over rated. 14 homers in the first 4 games might be the record in the bigs. I know that 13 in 3 is. Though that's pretty impressive, it's not good for a team to be so one dimentional in scoring runs. Those two stats I listed above mean our offense tended to be all-or-nothing. We need to rely on more singles, doubles, triples, stolen bases and bunts.

So you are saying you would rather have a single and/or a stolen base than a HR?
That makes no sense to me. Score runs any way you can, the easiest way is to hit it over the fence. The best teams in the league last year were those who hit the most HRs. The crappy teams hit the fewest.

Did you miss that in 5+ runs per game, our guys ranked in the middle of the pack? That suggests that we had plenty of blowouts, but in games we scored 5-10 runs, our team was nothing special. And our team led the NL in both runs scored AND team ERA, making us the best in both. Yet, we only won 92 games. Something needs to be improved, wouldn't you say?

Last year's situational hitting definitely could have been better.
