So you are saying you would rather have a single and/or a stolen base than a HR?
That makes no sense to me. Score runs any way you can, the easiest way is to hit it over the fence. The best teams in the league last year were those who hit the most HRs. The crappy teams hit the fewest.
Did you miss that in 5+ runs per game, our guys ranked in the middle of the pack? That suggests that we had plenty of blowouts, but in games we scored 5-10 runs, our team was nothing special. And our team led the NL in both runs scored AND team ERA, making us the best in both. Yet, we only won 92 games. Something needs to be improved, wouldn't you say? The only thing that needs to be “improved” is to win one 7 game series in October. this team is loaded, if the bullpen does their job we’ll be back to the WS again.

I dont know if Honeycutt gives Roberts advice on handling relief pitchers, but you know how I feel about that. Fergie came in the 8th and walked a hitter on four pitches, and Roberts gave him the hook. He'll burn out the bullpen yet in an extra inning game, not to mention he doesn't do much for pitchers' confidence.

Ferguson walks a guy on 4 pitches with a guy on first in a 5-1 game? Maybe he should be taken out and then shipped out. That’s absolutely pathetic. No way I’m blaming Doc for that.

12 players eligible for arbitration this offseason. Here they are and their expected salaries:
Pedro Baez – $3.3MM Enrique Hernandez – $5.5MM Joc Pederson – $8.5MM Yimi Garcia – $1.1MM Chris Taylor – $5.0MM Corey Seager – $7.1MM Ross Stripling – $2.3MM Austin Barnes – $1.3MM Scott Alexander – $1.0MM Max Muncy – $4.6MM Cody Bellinger – $11.6MM Julio Urias – $1.7MM
That's $53 million. Clearly they won't all be back.

Obviously we can scratch Garcia & Barnes off the list right away.

With Alexito Verdugo coming back. I'd look to trade Joc and also Baez. Baez will never be a reliable high leverage post- season reliever in my opinion. And, maybe have to make a decision on Kike since he and Taylor mirror each other and Taylor has one more year of arbitration and it looks like Lux will be playing everyday at 2nd.

Lefthanders hit .364 w/ a .976 OPS against Alexander. Isn't that supposed to be his job? He was way more effective versus righthanders. We have righthanders galore though.

'Cody, you're slated to earn 11.6 million dollars. Okay, I'm deducting 2.5 million dollars for batting .143 in the 2017 World Series.' 'Huh?' 'Another 1 million dollars for batting .000 in the 2018 NLDS.' 'But...' '$500,000 for batting .200 in the 2018 NLCS.' 'You can't do...' 'An additional 3 million dollars for hitting .063 in the 2018 World Series.' 'This can't be legal!' 'Finally, 4.7 million bucks for helping sink a 106 win team in the 2019 NLDS. Cody, you owe us $100,000. A check will be fine. Someone please show Mr. Bellinger the door.' 'Margaret, send in Kershaw.'

I think they bring back JMart for one more year. Maybe if they bring back Ryu too. If he pitches even close to how he did this year and can stay off the IL, I’d definitely like to see Ryu back. Putting all of our marbles on May & Goose as starters next year could be a huge mistake. Obviously we have Ferris & Kersh; Maeda very likely walks (especially after getting screwed on those bonuses!); Hill is likely gone. So that leaves us with Strip, May & Goose to fill our five man rotation. Ryu makes sense; but they also need to address a TRUE closer. Another year older Vulture is very unlikely to improve over this years version and we all know how that went. Team could use another power bat as well because you know Pollock is going to spend half the year on the IL again in 2020. GO DODGERS!!!

If he gets 25 million dollars a year & gets hurt, the Dodgers have minimum wage studs to back him up. It just depends on the years involved. I really like the idea of May or Gonsolin pushing Jansen.

No way Ryu gets 25 million a year. He has never pitched a full season. I see more of a Rich Hill type contract, maybe a little more.
