Brandon McCarthy got absolutely hammered by the Giants in his last start. 3.1 innings, 12 hits allowed, 3 doubles, 1 homer, 1 walk, 8 runs (all earned), on 78 pitches. His once pretty ERA is 4.84 & his WHIP is 1.59.

May 6, 2018 6:55 am Braves' Brandon McCarthy: Crushed by Giants on Saturday by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire McCarthy (4-1) took the loss against the Giants on Saturday, surrendering eight runs on 12 hits and a walk over 3.1 innings while striking out two.
He was able to escape the first inning unscathed after getting Buster Posey to ground into a double play, but after that nothing seemed to work for McCarthy, who managed only four swinging strikes in his 78 pitches (53 strikes). The 34-year-old will get a chance to shave down his 4.84 ERA in his next start Friday in Miami.

Yu Darvish goes six and gives up one run to the mighty Redlegs (the same team that just swept us at Dodger Stadium) for his first win of the year. Baby bears take three of four here in Cin City.
Looking forward to some revenge here in September and we can return the favour for those uglies last week.
GO DODGERS!!!

Sergio Romo starts two straight games against the Angels this weekend. 2 1/3 innings, 6 K’s. Has the Red Devil lookalike found a new niche with the Rays?

Trayce Thompson is hitting .119 with a .148 OBP for CWS.
He's at .121 overall for the 2 teams.
I remember one guy picking him for the Dodgers opening day roster, LOL...

McCarthy pitched well in his last start. 6.0 innings, 5 hits allowed, 2 walks, 8 strikeouts, just 1 earned run. This was against the Cubs. Unfortunately for him though he was really bad against Miami in the start before that. So he only lowered his ERA to 5.05 from a season high 5.58.
Dee Gordon has cooled off. He's 12 for his last 60. That's a .200 batting average. And because he never walks (4 times this year), his OB% is just .330. He's gotten hit by the pitch just as often as he walks. You would think a guy who makes his living off doing the little things would be better at getting on base. His season long batting average is .304. .304 & .330 sounds about right for Dee.

For only the first inning. Rays are trying some crazy 💩 by using their pen in the first inning to get through the top of the order and then bringing their scheduled starter in for innings 2 - 6 or 7. Romo pitched two days in a row and was pretty much unhittable in both short starts. GO DODGERS!!!

"Yu Darvish, Cubs, 0-3, 5.56 ERA, 74 ERA+"
More sterling reporting from The Times. That article is dated May 21st. On May 20th Darvish turned in his second consecutive impressive performance & his ERA is now 4.95. I won't EVEN bother fact checking the rest of that hack's article.
Btw - he got the win too. 1-3.
