WOW! I have that SAME card. In fact, I pretty much have the entire set of Topps from 1975 sitting in a shoebox in my master closet, including ALL of the Reds which became the Big Red Machine.

I don’t know how many of them would be considered “mint” as for awhile there when I was collecting them I had big rubber bands around them that may have left impressions.

But they’ve been sitting “free” for a few decades, so who knows! It’d certainly be interesting to see what they’re worth!

Sounds like a typical dealer. Nothing’s worth anything until it’s on THEIR shelf or in THEIR showcase.

I bet he’d say my 2008 batting helmet signed by the ENTIRE team AND coaches sans Manny wasn’t worth anything because it lacked that ONE signature. Hell, Torre, Mattingly & Mota ALONE give it decent value, not to mention EVERY OTHER member of that team!

Here's the best part. I have multiple issues of both cards! I was sitting on the toilet. I do my best thinking there. Dad died in 1998. Mom used to buy me those cards. She really appreciated me going to Tucson to visit with them because she knew I hated that fucking town. One afternoon a visit was dedicated to me getting stewed at the local strip club. Mom would go to Toys R' Us & buy the whole years' edition. I just found two rookie Jeters & two rookie Griffeys, in mint condition. I tried calling the dealer to rub it in just a bit. It went to a fax machine.

He didn't even know when Jeter's rookie year was. I just corrected him. He said it was 1992. Maybe '93. I said 1995. He was Rookie of the Year in 1996. But he got his first taste of the majors in 1995.

Is that a front for drugs? He should take the business more seriously. He could explain his income.

I was thinking of a brokerage fee. Maybe 10%. He mentioned 25% & my eyes must have gone vacant.

It's MY product. In some cases, I've been sitting on these cards for 50 years. Feel lucky to even be a part of history. Putz.
