Absolutely LOVED seeing these Shelby’s back in the day and especially this colour combo. Something about that pure white finish and large blue stripes just did it for me. Although the stripes on this one actually appear to be either VERY dark blue or possibly even black. Might have been my early subconscious introduction to the Dodgers. GO DODGERS!!! I thought it was tan & brown. My first car was a pale yellow 1969 Mustang fastback with a 302 in it. I really should have kept that car.

I thought it was tan & brown. My first car was a pale yellow 1969 Mustang fastback with a 302 in it. I really should have kept that car. You may be right - kinda hard to tell from the picture. We ALL have that one car we wished we would have kept. Mine would have to be my first - a 1972 Mercury Montego (counterpart of the Ford Torino). By the time my grandfather gave it to me, there was more rust than sheet metal left on the doors, fenders, trunk, etc. But I threw a set of Crager slot mags on it, installed riser air shocks, big white letter tires all around and of course SEVERAL killer in-dash stereos, one louder than the next. It was about as basic of a vehicle as they came. Small 250 six banger, bench vinyl & nylon front seat with the obligatory rip in the nylon, no carpeting, no power steering OR brakes. Just a beast! But it was my first and got me and my friends all over the city when we needed it to. Never broke down in the four or five years she was mine. British racing green except for the drivers side front fender, which I crashed on a snow covered country road after a date. The only replacement I could find was more of a yellowy lime green and I never got around to painting it to match because that job would’ve probably cost more than the car was worth. GO DODGERS!!!

That is TOO nice! I’m still hoping for a blue face Submariner from my better half as a retirement gift in a few years. Isn’t a gold watch the standard? Same stainless and gold band like this one (love that combo!); gold timepiece (of course!). I’d even settle for a gently used one if, of course it was certified and came with the original box and all of the other goodies. GO DODGERS!!! Leave hints around the house. Rolex brochures, with that page creased & the particular watch circled with arrows pointing to it. Be subtle, but not shy. She’ll probably just tell me to go buy one myself like she does most things I want. Ordered a new, authentic on field aqua Nike Miami Dolphins jersey with my name and number (6, of course!) on it for Christmas. Damn thing was over $400 with tax! GO DODGERS!!!

Why do I keep getting charged by 'Save America?' Oh well. We ARE saving America.

That’s the one. Seems a bit pricey for one that was manufactured nearly 35 years ago. I know they hold and even increase in value over the years. I looked at one in Destin a few years ago that was around the same price and it was only a few years old. We’re thinking about heading back down to Aruba for our 35th anniversary in a couple of years and they have some top notch jewelry stores down there selling for a LOT less than here in the states. The Movado I purchased there for around $800 goes for nearly double that in these parts. Of course, with a $10 large + Rolex, I might be subject to some tariffs and fees via customs, but I don’t think I got nailed for any on the Movado. GO DODGERS!!!

Couldn't you just wear it through customs? I would imagine I could - but the airport at Aruba is very small and HIGHLY congested and I’d be afraid it might get stolen right off my arm. They always ask if you have anything to “declare”; I’ll definitely look into what the limit is if I find one to my liking that is reasonable and see what I'd be on the hook for, if anything. Might only be a few percent or so, but if I can save several thousand buying one there, it’ll definitely be worth it. GO DODGERS!!!

Damn - that is nice, too. But I’m still leaning toward the blue face with the gold & silver band - it’s always been my favourite Rolex. GO DODGERS!!!

Went by Mattel just now. They're in El Segundo. They used to have this really neat store downstairs. It's not like it used to be. No diecast cars. Just dolls.
Oh well. My Mustangs & Cadillacs are out of stock at Fairfield. I was planning on getting one a month.

My fav has always been the ‘63 split window. I’m a REAL big fan of the new ones, too. They’re almost Ferrari like in appearance and the mid-engine is a very cool homage to the Italian roadsters. I actually have a photo which was taken around ten - fifteen years ago at the Corvette museum down in Bowling Green, Kentucky. It’s of the “concept” model they were in the very early stages of developing and is eerily close to what they started mass producing a few years ago. Kinda cool we got to see it over a decade before it actually started coming off the line. GO DODGERS!!!
