June 24, 2018 11:39 am Dodgers' Chris Taylor: Misses another game by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire Taylor (hamstring) remains out of the lineup Sunday against the Mets, Ken Gurnick of MLB.com reports. Taylor said his hamstring felt better Saturday, when he was able to pinch hit, but he remains out of the starting lineup. He's still considered day-to-day. Enrique Hernandez will make his third straight start at shortstop. Share: Twitter Facebook I know from personal experience the hamstring is a very tricky thing. After it's strained and it feels healed up, at first it doesn't take much to strain it again. Nothing you can do for any strained muscle but rest it.

The good news is it's apparently not effecting his swing. June 25, 2018 10:18 pm Dodgers' Julio Urias: Bullpens on tap this week by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire Urias (shoulder) will throw two bullpen sessions this week and recently touched the upper 80s with his fastball, J.P. Hoornstra of the Los Angeles Daily News reports. The electric southpaw averaged 93 mph with his fastball prior to his significant shoulder injury, which required surgery, so he is clearly not close to his old self. While the Dodgers' rotation has been ravaged by injuries, they will exercise caution with their prized young hurler. It's possible he will begin a rehab assignment in July. Share: Twitter Facebook

June 26, 2018 8:42 pm Dodgers' Walker Buehler: Bullpen session Thursday by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire Buehler (ribs) will throw another bullpen session Thursday, David Vassegh of AM 570 LA Sports reports.
Buehler completed his first bullpen session Sunday and had a pain-free session Tuesday as he works his way back from a right-rib microfracture. There remains no official timeline for the young right-hander's return, but manager Dave Roberts indicated the team could briefly operate with a six-man starting rotation once he is activated, Ken Gurnick of MLB.com reports.

June 26, 2018 7:08 pm Dodgers' Chris Taylor: Still not starting by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire Taylor (hamstring) is not in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Cubs, according to Eric Stephen of TrueBlueLA.com.
Taylor delivered a pinch-hit, go-ahead home run in the eighth inning of Monday's game, but he is still not ready for a full nine innings apparently, so he will come off the bench again Tuesday night.

Taylor did come off the bench & delivered a pinch hit single.

June 28, 2018 2:04 pm Dodgers' Josh Fields: Lands on disabled list by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire The Dodgers placed Fields on the 10-day disabled list Thursday with right shoulder inflammation, David Vassegh of AM 570 LA Sports reports.
Fields last pitched Tuesday against the Cubs and has thrown only 13 pitches over the last nine days. The severity of the issue remains unclear at this point, and the 32-year-old will be eligible to come off the shelf July 7.

June 29, 2018 10:15 pm Dodgers' Walker Buehler: Optioned to High-A by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire Buehler has been optioned to High-A Rancho Cucamonga, Ken Gurnick of MLB.com reports.
Buehler did not look ready to return Thursday, when he allowed five runs in one inning of work against the Cubs. The plan will likely be for Buehler to stretch out at Rancho Cucamonga, and after a few starts in which he can get his pitch count back to where it needs to be -- assuming he performs as expected -- he can come back to the majors. Buehler will need to spend at least 10 days in the minors, so expect a return in mid-to-late July. Expect a corresponding move to be announced before Saturday night's game.

June 30, 2018 1:31 am Dodgers' JT Chargois: Called up by Dodgers by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire Chargois has been called up by the Dodgers, Ken Gurnick of MLB.com reports.
Chargois will replace Walker Buehler, who will return to High-A Rancho Cucamonga to stretch out. Expect Chargois to work in a mop-up role until Buehler is ready to return. He had a brutal 12.08 ERA and 2.29 WHIP in 12.2 innings for the Reds and Rangers in his previous MLB stints this season.

Funny - a dude who’s name is pronounced like the “Sham-Wow”, an “As seen on TV” product used to clean and absorb water from washed vehicles and other surfaces being called up and likely used in “mop-up” situations. Oh, the irony!

July 3, 2018 2:53 pm Dodgers' Walker Buehler: Due for at least two minors starts by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire Buehler will make at least two starts in the minors before returning to the Dodgers' active roster, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic Los Angeles reports.
After being sidelined for most of June with a right rib microfracture, Buehler bypassed a minor-league rehab assignment last week and was instead activated from the 10-day disabled list to come out of the bullpen and piggyback starter Clayton Kershaw. That plan proved disastrous, however, as Buehler was tagged for five runs over one inning to take the loss in what had been a tightly-contested game. With the Los Angeles rotation back to full strength following the recent returns of Kershaw and Rich Hill from the DL, Buehler was sent back to High-A Rancho Cucamonga and will make a start with the affiliate Tuesday. He'll presumably be stretched out in preparation for an eventual return to a starting role with the Dodgers, with Roberts perhaps willing to roll with a six-man rotation if the other five starters remain both healthy and effective. Look for Buehler to rejoin the big club shortly before or immediately after the All-Star break.

July 3, 2018 2:41 pm Dodgers' Pedro Baez: Return not imminent by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said Sunday that Baez (biceps) is "a ways away" from returning from the 10-day disabled list, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic Los Angeles reports.
Roberts didn't offer a specific timetable for Baez, but noted that Tony Cingrani (biceps), who threw his first bullpen session Monday since landing on the DL in early June, was closer to returning than the right-hander. That suggests that Baez will likely be sidelined through the All-Star break while he recovers from right biceps tendinitis. With three of the Dodgers' top relief arms in Baez, Cingrani and Josh Fields (shoulder) all sidelined, Daniel Hudson and Scott Alexander have emerged as the primary setup men for closer Kenley Jansen.

July 5, 2018 12:07 am Dodgers' Rich Hill: Exits with neck tightness by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire Hill left Wednesday' game against the Pirates with neck tightness after sliding headfirst into home plate, Pedro Moura of The Athletic Los Angeles reports.
Hill was pitching well prior to the injury, allowing two runs in five innings, allowing four hits and a walk while striking out five. He's considered day-to-day, but given his injury history, the Dodgers may elect to be extra careful. If he doesn't need to miss a start, he'll next take the hill Tuesday against the Padres.

July 4, 2018 8:25 pm Dodgers' Julio Urias: Fastball hits 91 in bullpen by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire Urias (shoulder) threw a bullpen session Monday, touching 91 mph with his fastball, Bill Plunkett of The Orange County Register reports.
Urias hasn't pitched at the big-league level since last May after undergoing shoulder surgery. His fastball average 93 mph prior to his injury, so it's a good sign that its velocity continues to climb, though he's still not back to his former self. He reportedly could be making rehab appearances in July, leaving him on track to return sometime in August.

July 4, 2018 7:56 pm Dodgers' Walker Buehler: To return after sim game by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire Buehler (ribs) will throw a simulated game Sunday and then return to the Dodgers, Bill Plunkett of The Orange County Register reports.
Buehler tossed three innings for High-A Rancho Cucamonga on Tuesday, allowing a run on two hits and a walk while striking out five batters. He'll return to the Dodgers soon after his sim game, provided that goes well, ending a month-long period in which he tossed just one disastrous inning for the team.

Dodgers' Pedro Baez: Completes another rehab outing by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire Baez (biceps) tossed a scoreless inning with two strikeouts in his second rehab appearance with Triple-A Oklahoma City on Saturday.
Baez has been sidelined with biceps tendinitis since June 15. While this was his second successful rehab outing, manager Dave Roberts stated that his reliever will need to throw full innings in back-to-back games before he is cleared to return to the majors. When Baez does return, he figures to slot back in as the Dodgers' primary right-handed setup man behind Kenley Jansen.

July 22, 2018 4:57 am Dodgers' Yasiel Puig: Begins swinging off tee by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire Puig (oblique) took swings off a tee at the Dodgers' spring training complex in Arizona on Saturday, and he is expected to be activated off the disabled list sometime during next week's series against Atlanta, Bill Plunkett of The Orange County Register reports.
Puig has been sidelined with a Grade 1 oblique strain since July 9, but it sounds like he is nearing a return following Saturday's advancement in his rehab process. The Dodgers' projected return date indicates that a rehab stint in the minors may not be necessary. Puig was slashing .265/.325/.462 with 11 homers in 76 games prior to hitting the disabled list.

July 21, 2018 6:25 am Dodgers' Walker Buehler: Return to rotation not clear by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire Buehler threw a five-inning simulated game with Triple-A Oklahoma City on Friday, but it is still unclear when he will rejoin the major-league rotation, Bill Plunkett of The Orange County Register reports.
Buehler was sent to the minors over the All-Star break after making a successful return from a rib injury July 13. The 23-year-old's health and performance in the majors (3.45 ERA and 4.5 K/BB ratio) are unquestioned, and the demotion to the minors was due to a crowded rotation and the Dodgers wanting to keep the talented rookie's usage in check. It is unclear when exactly Buehler will rejoin the majors, but there is little doubt that he will eventually get that opportunity at some point in the second half.

July 30, 2018 7:44 pm Dodgers' Ross Stripling: Headed to DL by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire Stripling was placed on the 10-day disabled list Monday due to a toe injury, Ken Gurnick of MLB.com reports.
It's unclear as to when Stripling suffered the injury, but he'll be sidelined for at least 10 days, and Dylan Floro will get the call from Triple-A Oklahoma City. Manager Dave Roberts stated Stripling will require between 10-to-12 days days on the shelf until returning to action, per J.P. Hoornstra of the Los Angeles Daily News.

July 31, 2018 10:25 am Dodgers' Julio Urias: Begins rehab assignment by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire Urias (shoulder) began his formal rehab assignment in the Arizona League on Monday, J.P. Hoornstra of the Los Angeles Daily News reports.
Urias reportedly touched 94 mph with his fastball, a good sign after the pitch was sitting down in the 88-92 mph range earlier in the month. The lefty got just five outs, though apparently that was due to weather delays. Given the length of Urias' absence, which has lasted longer than a year, expect him to spend several more weeks rehabbing, returning sometime in late August or early September.

July 26, 2018 5:49 pm Dodgers' Hyun-Jin Ryu: Tosses simulated game by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire Ryu (groin) threw a two-inning simulated game Wednesday and will pitch a three-inning simulated game Saturday, Bill Plunkett of the Orange County Register reports.
If all goes well during Saturday's session, Ryu will likely start a rehab assignment next week. The left-hander is expected to require multiple games at the minor-league level before he's able to come off the 60-day DL, so a mid-August return seems to be the target at this point.

If Buehler & Stripling have hit a wall, we have reinforcements on the way. Ryu was having a career year before getting hurt. Definitely a pleasant surprise Urias hit 94 mph on the gun. That was Ryu's big obstacle coming back from a shoulder injury. He didn't have the same velocity at first.

August 1, 2018 8:51 pm Dodgers' Ross Stripling: Eying return vs. Rockies by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire Stripling (toe) expects to come off the disabled list to start either Aug. 9 or 10 against Colorado, Pedro Moura of The Athletic Los Angeles reports.
Stripling was placed on the 10-day disabled list with a toe injury Monday, but he shouldn't remain on the shelf for long. If all goes well, Stripling is optimistic that he'll return sometime during the Dodgers' series against the Rockies from Aug. 9-12.

August 1, 2018 7:47 pm Dodgers' Justin Turner: Slated for activation by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire Turner (groin) is expected to return from the 10-day disabled list Thursday, David Vassegh of AM 570 LA Sports reports.
Turner landed on the disabled list July 23 with a right groin strain, but he'll come off the shelf after missing the minimum. He figures to resume his role as the everyday third baseman, even with the additions of Manny Machado and Brian Dozier.
