Like said before, MK has found the "Fountain of Youth" and with a re-adjusted attitude and nearly 50 lbs meaner and leaner. On track for the comeback! There is only one person who saw this coming, and that's Matt Kemp. None of us; not the team; not the analysts. No one outside of Kemp himself knew this would happen. We could have hoped, but based on past performance and history there was no way to objectively see this kind of resurgence. It is Kemp who has to keep himself in playing shape. It is Kemp who has to keep his head in the right frame. It is Kemp who has to keep his focus. Hopefully he keeps it going. I will caution though that he is riding a current .425 BABIP. That's a number that is absolutely unsustainable. There are only four single season BABIP averages over .400 in the history of the game. Also, through May of last season Kemp hit .345 with a .381/.608/.989 slash line, 15 doubles and 10 home runs. Then he crashed to earth over the last four months. Let's see a sustained run through the majority of the season. Then I'll be really impressed. Although, I understand your concern, Matty Kemp had better believe in himself because no one else is going to believe in him if he doesn't do it first and foremost. But numbers aside, Kemp has been really attacking the strike zone with the intent of driving the pitch and that's a positive no matter what! Let's hope this is contagious and catches on to some other Dodgers! Time Will Tell~

Yes, I remember you hoping he would contribute as a Dodger this year. Didn't we all? I don't think anyone wanted him to flop if he stayed a Dodger. Now some of us wanted another salary dump to give us flexibility & maybe a shot at a better player. But no one wanted Matt to flop as a Dodger. That would be counterproductive.

Unless your name is Francis and you’re still “wooding” for Ethier. Of course, he couldn’t stand Puig his first few years, either. But Andre was and still is his “mon amour”. GO DODGERS!!!

Yes it's not sustainable. And with Matt it's not if he gets hurt, it's when. I like the guy, but, trade him asap while his value is high. They aren’t trading Kemp unless they are going completely in to tank mode. - I don't disagree, especially at this point.

we are basically a last place team with kemp, we can do that with out him. trade him now while he has value for some pitching, trade a few others for some hitters. I know easier said an done. bring up toles and rios and anyone else that might drive in runs

I don't think anyone expects him to hit .300 this year but he has certainly been the one bright spot in an injury filled dismal start. glad we held onto him. I agree. Worst case scenario is the team trades him and is able to remove his money and obtain something of value. Best case scenario the team starts to play well and he is a productive contributor in helping us win. Do you see anything else I might have missed? I see a couple worst case scenarios other than the two best cases that you gave us. 1. he gets hurt. 2. he goes into a slump after such a good start, exactly like last year. You aren't looking at this clearly.

June 27, 2018 6:20 pm Dodgers' Matt Kemp: Serving one-game suspension Wednesday by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire Kemp will serve a one-game suspension Wednesday against the Cubs for his actions during the game against the Rangers on June 13.
He appealed the suspension, but the appeal was denied. Joc Pederson gets the start in left field in his place and will lead off. Kemp will likely return to the lineup for Thursday's series finale.

I like Matty playing RF. I know he isn't as athletic as Puig but Puig keeps on making bonehead plays. With a loss in weight and defensive positioning Matty looks good out there. He is also threw out Rizzo the other day, lol. I would like to see Kike- Verdugo or if Joc isn't traded in LF/Toles in CF/Kemp in RF.

Puig is arbitration eligible & then becomes a free agent in 2020. Do the Dodgers give him a big contract & risk him going back to sleep? Could Verdugo take his place? How much is Grandal worth? If Muncy is the real deal, Bellinger might be our centerfielder. When Seager comes back, that makes Taylor expendable. I liked the Scooter Gennett idea. We would really be lefthanded heavy then though.
