Like I said earlier. The way I see it Kersh decides his legacy, I believe that. I see LAD making a ridiculously fair offer and another team offering more.
I want to see what happens.

Clayton holds all of the cards this year IMO. If he has a down year or heaven forbid, has an injury, he won't opt out and still get his annual $30 million. If he has a Kershaw type year he will get what he wants from whoever is willing to pay it. The Dodgers may have some difficult decisions to make this off season either way. Good post. The team has played well without him. However, he is a great starting pitcher asset. I think the pressure to re- sign him will come from the fans. I think the team offers him a good deal but not one that will put them in a bind in the future.

True he will still be expensive if he doesn’t opt out; but even including his salary they have close to 60 million coming off the books. True a lot of that will go to arb raises (most notably Seager), but they would still be able to add a big time FA without raising the payroll much, or at all. Seager's not getting a lot based on his most recent medical history. But I'd still be reluctant to signing Kershaw up for too much based on HIS recent medical information. He hasn't lost nearly as much speed as a lot of posters here seem to contend. He HAS missed significant time with his back though. Good point.

They will be raked over the coals by them if they follow up an off season where they mostly stood pat with an off season where they let one of the greatest Dodgers ever walk.

It's funny, towards the end of the MLB board, there was "discussion" regarding young players pre-FA being way underpaid and older players in their later years being way overpaid. Now here we are with Corey and Clayton.

May 23, 2018 8:17 pm Dodgers' Clayton Kershaw: Sim game scheduled for Saturday by RotoWire Staff | RotoWire Kershaw (biceps) is scheduled to throw a simulated game Saturday, Ken Gurnick of MLB.com reports.
Kershaw was able to get through a bullpen session with no issues Wednesday -- saying he felt healthy after throwing for longer than was originally planned -- so he'll continue to ramp up his throwing program over the weekend. If all goes well during Saturday's simulated outing, the ace could be cleared to embark on a minor-league rehab assignment shorty thereafter (assuming one is deemed necessary).

Trade him now while he still has value and before he gets hurt again. I heard it’s realistic to think that way. GO DODGERS!!!
