Couldn’t disagree more. Kimbrel has been really bad so far. ERA near 6.00, a WHIP through the roof. Dude, you’re just wrong on this one right now. Both guys you wanted have been absolutely terrible. I have more confidence that he turns things around compared to Jansen. At least he has more than one pitch and perhaps was trying to pitch through his knee issues prior to being put on the IL. Jansen has supposedly been injury free all year (other than his ticker issues which isn’t considered sports related). Yet he’s been more than hittable pretty much all season and by guys that shouldn’t be blasting 0 - 2 or 1 - 2 pitches over the wall. He’s NEVER going to hit 95 on the gun again, let alone higher. Most MLB batters, even scrubs off the bench, can time and hit a 90 mph fastball. 5 - 0 with a minuscule 1.32 ERA & 109 K’s -vs- 7 BB in 2017 to 3 - 3 (two of which were after he blew the save), an ERA near four and 60 K’s and 11 BB thus far in 2019. The oddity is that he’s either on or off. There doesn’t seem to be any in between. He’s either VERY hittable which usually results in a blown save and / or loss or unhittable. And the VERY hittable version needs to be eliminated if we are to win in October. And quite frankly (no pun intended!), I don’t see that happening. And based on Kimbrel’s last two years compared to Jansen, even considering his poor 2019 thus far, I’d rather see him closing things out for us instead of the baby bears. Just my opinion . . . as Dennis Miller used to say - “I could be wrong”. GO DODGERS!!!

Not sure if you will be right or wrong. I only know that so far Kimbrel has been terrible. If he was pitching like this for us none of us would be very happy.

Got this from mlb.com article on dodgers season "It might not matter if Jansen can't overcome his issues, but there's certainly no shortage of talented arms here, and it's worth noting that the '17 Astros got little from their elite closer (Ken Giles allowed 10 earned runs in 7 2/3 innings that October) and the '18 Red Sox didn't get what they expected from Craig Kimbrel (seven earned runs and eight walks in 10 2/3 October innings). If it's not the plan you want, it's also not one that can't be worked with."

I don’t want to get off on a rant here, but anyone (the Commissioner, Owners or Rawlings) who can look into the camera and say in all honesty that the balls being used this year have not “been enhanced” is the best actor since Morgan Freeman.
Four HR’s in FIVE STRAIGHT GAMES? Ridiculous!
GO DODGERS!!!

Four HR’s in FIVE STRAIGHT GAMES? Ridiculous! GO DODGERS!!! Well, the opponents haven't done it to the Dodgers the last 5 games. They are hitting the same ball. I do agree with you though........the balls are definitely somehow "enhanced". This year will likely break the MLB home run record set just 2 years ago. The total home runs hit the MLB stayed around 3,000 from the mid 60's to the early 90's. In 1993 it jumped to 4,000. In 1998 it jumped to 5,000. It went back to the mid to high 4,000s from 2010-2015. The numbers put up in 2016 and 2018 (5610 and 5585) are about the same as the numbers from 1999 and 2000 (5528 and 5693). 2017 set the high water mark of 6105.........Not sure where 2019 will end up. It looks like the enhancement is nothing new since the home run total is fairly consistent with those of the previous 20 years, with exception of 2 years ago.

Factor in the steroid usage of the 90’s and even up thru Braun’s MVP “theft” year - certainly some effect to the overall numbers there and then. MLB could easily break seven large this year. And more than a few players, including pitchers have commented that they are 100% certain the balls are “different”. I just hope they don’t do anything ELSE to them, come postseason. We all remember what happened in 2017 when the balls were “doctored”. Didn’t turn out too good for our boys in blue. GO DODGERS!!!

Bottom of the sixth and we have exactly ONE HIT off a team 25 games UNDER .500? And that hit was by OUR FREAKIN PITCHER?
It’s amazing how these guys can open a series with 15 runs and then basically shut down the next two games. Docs .200 Club lineup doesn’t really help matters, but this is ridiculous.
GO DODGERS!!!

The cardiac kids do it again! Kiké with the game winner on his bobble head night. It doesn’t get much better than that!

I can't believe there was a smattering of boos when Maeda gave up that homerun. Used to be LA fans were totally oblivious. They would cheer a rock. East Coast fans were considered 'knowledgeable,' so that explained the meanness. Why Richie Allen had to wear a batting helmet running the bases. Now we're just as bad. Maybe worse. It's a little embarrassing.

Getting a little spoiled. Expectations are high. No one is allowed to give up a run now.
Makes no sense to me.

Time for bed, hopefully SD doesn’t score any because maybe one of these runs might actually end up being meaningful.
