Still just 19.5 games out of last place. More importantly though, a mere 11.0 out of second.

DOOMED! Anyone seen Jeremy lately? Last I heard the Dodgers were worst and cheap because they moved last year's right fielder and only replaced him with that Bellinger guy LOL!

Not exactly the way I’d have liked to see our boys go into the break (three straight losses to the Madres? Please!), but we get Seager & Pollack back after the break and maybe our lineup can cut out most of the .200 club from daily appearances.
I hope we don’t go into the major slump we did back in ‘17 after starting strong like this. Our starting pitchers still look to be the class of the league, but the pen gives me pause. I’m sure some moves will be made to shore things up there in the next month or two.
Joc at first base hasn’t really worked out that well and I think his continued play there is going to hurt us more than his bat in the lineup is worth. They simply cannot expect him to learn and play a new position “on the fly” midseason.
As a former 1B myself, it’s NOT the “easiest spot on the field” where you “hide” your worst player. Quite the contrary, if you ask me. And I did it from Little League (5 years old) thru high school and then another 30 years or so in thousands of softball games.
Positioning of both body and feet around the bag, fielding 100 + mph grounders, liners AND throws, pop ups in foul areas that are different every few days away from home - it’s a bitch to learn and play.
And for the love of God - it’s time to give the Fresh Prince a REAL shot at playing every day with J as his backup and Barnes doing cleanup on Aisle 7.

Agree 100%. The whole idea was a stupid one. I feel bad for the guy, that was unfair.

I have full confidence that the Dodgers will get it together in time to win the Natural league West by single digits. The NL West division crown and the GG for Belli are all but assured. Anything more is just gravy and an early exit on the playoffs gives more adequate time to recover from Seager's leg falling off (the other one), Jansen's heart transplant, and for Pollock to get his new arm from the Empire.

20.0 games out of last place, which, ironically, is occupied by the 'expert's' preseason consensus as the Dodgers' chief rival this year: the Colorado Rockies. Yes, those Rockies. LA is 72-40 / .643. Colorado is 51-59 / .464. Every team (other than the Dodgers) are packed tightly in the NL West. San Francisco is 16.0 games back, Arizona is 17.0 back, San Diego is 19.5 back, & of course the Rockies are 20.0 back.
LA is 0.5 games ahead of the Houston Astros for best record in MLB.

Dodgers are 23.5 games out of last place. 18.5 out of second place. Pretty soon we'll need binoculars to find the rest of the field. Just before they're lapped, of course.

ANOTHER stellar pickup by the home office. A 34 year old lifetime .200 hitting catcher from Seattle for “cash considerations”.
I know he’s currently on the IL and hasn’t exactly been lights out since the baby bears acquired him, but couldn’t these “cash considerations” been used to sign Kimbrel or Keuchel or just about ANY OTHER available PITCHER?
And yes - I also realize he’s on the first bus to Oklahoma City, but for craps sake - can’t we get someone, ANYONE that actually HELPS or improves this team?
Once again - SMFH!!!

Kimbrel is hurt.
And Kuechel has been terrible.
Time to give up on this one, JR. lol.
We were right not to sign either.

38 - THIRTY EIGHT games over .500. Snakes in second place in the west AT .500 (59 - 59). Eric Burns on MLB-TV just called the Dodgers “boring”. All they do is win; they are EXPECTED to win. Yawn!
Methinks Eric needs a thesaurus so he can find another, more appropriate adjective. Like the EXACT OPPOSITE of “boring”.

Kimbrel is hurt. And Kuechel has been terrible. Time to give up on this one, JR. lol. We were right not to sign either. Kimbrel could have been huge for us in October and I feel certain a much better option than Jansen. He has seven saves in 10 appearances, with two losses. His ERA is also north of 5.5. His 17 K’s don’t really offset his 8 BB. His knee inflammation will pass. And I’d STILL be more confident with him closing in October than Jansen. Kimbrel’s issues have been missing half the year and physical, both of which can and will be fixed. Kenley’s are mental, IMHO, dating back to the blown save against Houston. His overuse by Doc has affected his arm and his cutter doesn’t cut like it used to. Those comparing him to Rivera were speaking nonsense. He has no real secondary pitch and has lost his ability to put guys away when he gets two strikes on them. Mark my words - he will be our Achilles heel come October. GO DODGERS!!!

Couldn’t disagree more.
Kimbrel has been really bad so far.
ERA near 6.00, a WHIP through the roof.
Dude, you’re just wrong on this one right now. Both guys you wanted have been absolutely terrible.
