BS. You been dissing him for over an hour. The guy was great. Was he? please see WS game 2, 5 and I am not "dissing him". He was great. Is he possibly the reason we didn't win the WS? is he "possibly" the main reason? _____ and you're just moving on from game 2 now?

Morrow postseason pitched in 14 of 15 postseason games. Had one bad inning in WS, and you wanna blame him. edit - and the bad inning wasn't game 7 That's interesting. We don't want to jump Morrow for having a bad inning because it wasn't game 7. We DO want to lament the loss of Morrow (after seven games) in early April. Hmmm. Was Morrow with the team in early April last year?

Wow, I guess I really ruffled some feathers didn't I? Not once did I say Arizona was going to win the division. I do think they're better than people are making them out to be. And while I said I question Arizona's rotation, I never said they aren't that good. Greinke, Ray, Godley, and Corbin maybe isn't as good as our rotation, but it certainly isn't bad either. Look, all I'm saying is that Arizona and Colorado are going to be a handful. But in the end I do think the Dodgers will win the division, probably not by 11 games, but somewhere between 4-7 games. I know that some people might not agree with that, but I really don't see the point in getting into an argument about it. To each their own. I agree with this. The Dodgers probably still win the division, but this team is not as good as the one last season.....yet. Perhaps a trade or a few call-ups change that. But, we don't have as much depth as last season and I doubt some of the guys who had career years last season are going to be able to repeat that success. I predicted a slow start when I saw the choices they made for the roster, and here we are. We need a spark.

BS. You been dissing him for over an hour. The guy was great. You still haven't answered. Without Morrow last year, how many games do we win? 103? 102? Less? More? Without Morrow being part of blowing games 2 and 5 in the WS, is there a chance we would have actually WON without him? I know how it is with you. The hard questions just never get answered.

"But, we don't have as much depth as last season ..."
Says who? Toles isn't depth? Verdugo isn't depth? Peter? Buehler? Stewart? Liberatore?
The matter of fact statements don't fly. Back it up.

"and I doubt some of the guys who had career years last season are going to be able to repeat that success."
Who had a career year? Grandal? Forsythe? Seager? Pederson? Puig? Utley? Hernandez? Gonzalez? Maeda? Ryu? We don't know yet what Bellinger's career will look like. The fact is the guys who DID have career years were FAR counterbalanced by those who didn't, & the team STILL won 104 games & reached game 7 of the World Series.

Maybe Grandal & Forsythe bounce back in their free agency years & have a career type season. Ryu too. Maybe Puig really turns on the jets to get an extension. If someone goes down with an injury, Verdugo comes up & is our third straight Rookie of the Year. There's just no predicting who will be the big surprises this season. Acting like some guys might topple, while everyone else stays on an even keel, is shortsighted. Negatively so.

Wow, I guess I really ruffled some feathers didn't I? It's called a discussion. Some of your points have credence; some do not. Hence the discussion. ***Not once did I say Arizona was going to win the division.*** And I don't think anyone directly said you did. ***I do think they're better than people are making them out to be.*** People being who? Most the talk I've heard from columnists, analysts and the like is that Arizona is the favorite for a wild card. Around here, I think most would say the same. But they did regress this winter, losing Martinez and Drury without replacing them with anyone of substance, so to say they are better than last season I think is a stretch. ***And while I said I question Arizona's rotation, I never said they aren't that good.*** Actually you did. You directly stated you "Don't think their rotation is that good". ***Look, all I'm saying is that Arizona and Colorado are going to be a handful.*** Arizona, yes. Colorado, no. Not if they don't get their pitching in order. ***But in the end I do think the Dodgers will win the division, probably not by 11 games, but somewhere between 4-7 games. I know that some people might not agree with that, but I really don't see the point in getting into an argument about it.*** It's not an argument. It's called a discussion. Support your side rationally and others will debate it rationally from their side. That's the point of the board.

Yeah, it always works out well to switch up a stance because of a seven game slump. Just ask Pederson... I'm not sure that Pederson is salvageable. But there are plenty of other guys who've made the right "tweaks" at the right time and it's paid off (I'm thinking Puig, Taylor, and Turner in the recent Dodger past). If what you're doing is not working, it's time for a change. Puig, Taylor and Turner had a winter to make the adjustments. You're talking about guys making in season adjustments after just a week of the season. I'm sorry, but that is never a good idea.

Of course not, I totally understand and agree with why we didn't sign those guys, primarily lux./compet. tax issues. If no compet. tax issues I'd think we'd have signed Yu. Morrow, given volatility of RP's way too much and long. Mac, meh, to me he's talentwise a very good #5 or backup, a luxury to have we could afford, but given the tax issues great move to get rid of him and Kazmir. Kazmir sucks. If I had to guess, I'd think an SP will go down, Buehler will save us, but if a 2nd SP goes down then that's a real concern. Mac would lessen the concern-lol. Then we agree. ***Overall, my orig. post is just acknowledging that the team is currently not as strong a team as end of last year (period, forget the money for a minute), and those three are the big reason.*** Okay. But I'd argue that that is like comparing an apple to an orange. If you want to compare the team as it is now to last season then I think the only way to logically do that is to compare it to the Dodgers team as it was last April. Comparing it to the Dodgers team as it was at the end of last season includes two players (Darvish and Morrow) that weren't even on the teams radar at this point last season. What Darvish/Morrow types might LA have by the end of the season this year? No one knows. So I'll agree with your statement, but I just don't see any rationale to the comparison. ****The team at end of last year was capable of winning the WS, the teams beg. of this and last year were not imo. Yes we can and likely will win the division without them imo, but we will need similar acquisitions via farm/trade etc. to go far.*** Which is what I'm saying and why I don't see the point to comparing the team as it is now with what it looked like at the end of last season. ***Without those 3 we saved $$$ but traded it for additional risk of failing to make playoffs.*** LA also acquired Kemp with a couple of those names, which gave the outfield additional depth though. And the team has a full season in the rotation of Wood (in particular) to cover any hole Darvish left. Consider all sides. ***I accept the risk because the $$$ saved now allow acquisitions late & future given, and save $$$ in saved tax. But there is risk involved in this I'm not ignoring.*** Neither am I. ***I hope that's clear, too lazy to proof it more. If holes, I'm sure you guys will find them, as will I. For now, enough.*** Crystal. And a good discussion.

Crystal. And a good discussion. Thank you, Hunter. One of the things I want to address, maybe it sounds simple, maybe not, the team by posters and others can be looked upon a few ways at least imo, one from Pres. Ops & GM/ AF & FZ, and another as Manager/Doc. One looks at talent and $$$, one looks at the talent/"horse flesh". That's it.

You directly stated you "Don't think their rotation is that good". That was clearly a mistake on my part. I'm not sure why I said that. Their rotation is very underrated and is a large reason why they're off to a good start.

It's gotta be doom and gloom, nothing else. I don't have an agenda, nor do I need "doom and gloom". I'm a die hard Dodger fan and I want nothing but the best for them. Last year was magical and I enjoyed every second of it. I just think they blew a golden opportunity to win the chip. Some questionable decisions doomed us in the series, IMO. It's hard to rebound from that. I would have loved for the Dodgers to go for it over the offseason- get Stanton, or get a set-up guy, or do whatever they needed to do to improve the team. IMO, they tread water instead and are hoping that the team plays well enough as constructed to get back to the Series. I just question whether everything will fall into place like last season for them. Everybody needs to take a chill pill and stop piling on. When I said some players had a career year I was talking about Chris Taylor, Yasiel Puig, Justin Turner, Alex Wood, and Brandon Morrow. I doubt that these guys will be able to repeat what they did last season. And how many games did the Dodgers win last year in comeback fashion? I'm not convinced that they'll be able to do the same this season. Of course other guys could bounce back and make up the difference. The Dodgers could make a trade that drastically changes the lineup or pitching staff. I am hoping for that! No need to nitpick everything I say by quoting each line and battling every word. I'm with you, I want the Dodgers to win. I'm not panicking, don't get it twisted. We've only played 7 games and I know the Dodgers will turn it around. They're too talented not to. But, don't take Arizona or Colorado lightly, because they're not chopped liver. They will put some pressure on the Dodgers to win that sixth straight division title. Things change quickly if you rest on your laurels.
