In a four part series shown last week on HBO, Pete Rose advised he hadn’t placed a bet in six months at the time of the taping / interview.
He continues to deny ever betting AGAINST the Reds, but I think we all know that’s about as believable as his decades of denial of betting on baseball.
He also continues to show zero remorse or attrition for his past as well as lobbying for his election to the HOF.
Pete made his bed. He needs to continue sleeping in it.

Long time Reds announcer and Hall of Famer himself Marty Brenneman stated “that would be a travesty” to close out the final episode. The HOF certainly has its share of louts and undesirables. Pete has records that will never be broken. Those records are noted and acknowledged in the HOF. The man that set them is not and may never be. I’m pretty much apathetic either way.
