MLB reporting tricep tightness for Yamaha. So much for the proposed six man rotation. GO DODGERS!!! Doug McKain said that tricep tightness is often a precurser to Tommy John, but I highly doubt it in Yamaha's case cos he's being shut down before it gets worse. Its probably cos the tight tricep forces pitchers to put more stress on the elbow. The LA team of doctors and PT’s has sucked almost as bad as Daisy when it comes to diagnosis and treatment. I’m betting Yamaha is done for the season and will end up getting surgery. Yep - that’s me - glass half empty guy! GO DODGERS!!!

Dodgers' Blake Treinen: Gives up first runs of campaign Rotowire 2 HRS AGO Treinen (2-1) took the loss and was charged with a blown save Saturday against Kansas City. He allowed four runs on one hit and three walks while striking out one batter over two-thirds of an inning.
Treinen had been dominant coming into Saturday, posting a 19:2 K:BB over 13 scoreless innings across 14 appearances. However, he struggled with his control against the Royals, issuing three straight one-out walks. It appeared Treinen might get out of the jam when he fanned Adam Frazier for the second out of the frame and then backed MJ Melendez into a 1-2 count, but Melendez put together a brilliant 12-pitch at-bat that included six straight two-strike foul balls before launching a grand slam. Treinen's ERA jumped to 2.63 due to the poor outing, but given his overall body of work this season, he should continue to be a high-leverage option for the Dodgers.
Dodgers' Yoshinobu Yamamoto: IL stint probable Rotowire 13 HRS AGO Manager Dave Roberts said Saturday that there is a "high probability" Yamamoto (triceps) will be placed on the 15-day injured list, Mike DiGiovanna of the Los Angeles Times reports.
The rookie right-hander indicated he didn't think the injury was anything serious after being pulled from Saturday's start. While Yamamoto will undergo further evaluations Sunday before an official move is made, it seems likely that the triceps tightness will require Yamamoto to miss a few starts, even if an IL move is mostly precautionary. Luckily for the Dodgers, Bobby Miller (shoulder) is set to come off the IL this week and rejoin the rotation.
Dodgers' Yoshinobu Yamamoto: Doesn't consider injury serious Rotowire 13 HRS AGO Yamamoto (triceps) felt tightness during warmups but didn't think it was severe enough to miss Saturday's start and doesn't think the injury is serious, Mike DiGiovanna of the Los Angeles Times reports.
Yamamoto will undergo further evaluation after leaving Saturday's game, but he doesn't feel as though the injury is anything significant. Per Juan Toribio of MLB.com, the triceps tightness was the reason for Yamamoto's start being pushed back from Thursday to Saturday, meaning the injury has isn't necessarily new. With Bobby Miller (shoulder) expected to return and start Wednesday, the Dodgers could temporarily utilize a six-man rotation to give Yamamoto extra rest. We should have more clarity on Yamamoto's status in the coming days.
Dodgers' Yoshinobu Yamamoto: Exits early with triceps tightness Rotowire 16 HRS AGO Yamamoto was pulled from Saturday's start against the Royals with triceps tightness. He allowed one hit and one walk with one strikeout across two scoreless innings before being removed.
Yamamoto was initially scheduled to start Thursday but had the outing pushed back for rest purposes, though after Saturday's abbreviated outing it seems possible the rookie was dealing with some sort of issue. Yamamoto saw his fastball velocity dip to as low as 92.9 mph before being removed, Juan Toribio of MLB.com reports. Michael Grove will take over on the mound for the Dodgers. Yamamoto was scheduled to make his next start Friday at home against the Angels, though Saturday's injury puts that in doubt.
Dodgers' Max Muncy: Not close to returning Rotowire 19 HRS AGO Muncy (oblique) is at least a week away from swinging a bat and doesn't have a timeline for return, Mike DiGiovanna of the Los Angeles Times reports.
Muncy's recovery from a right oblique strain has been unexpectedly slow, and he doesn't seem particularly close to returning. The 33-year-old hasn't swung a bat in a few weeks and won't be cleared for swings for at least another week. Cavan Biggio and Enrique Hernandez should handle most of the work at third base until Muncy returns.

Dodgers' Joe Kelly: Shifts to 60-day IL Rotowire 21 MINS AGO The Dodgers transferred Kelly (shoulder) from the 15-day injured list to the 60-day IL on Sunday.
As a result of the transaction, Kelly won't be eligible to return to the Dodgers bullpen until the first week of July. The right-hander threw a 25-pitch bullpen session Friday, so he already seems to be making good progress in his recovery from the right shoulder strain that has kept him out of action since May 6. He could be cleared to begin a minor-league rehab assignment later this week or next.
Dodgers' Michael Grove: Shut down with lat injury Rotowire 23 MINS AGO The Dodgers placed Grove on the 15-day injured list Sunday with a right lat injury, David Vassegh of AM 570 LA Sports reports.
Grove presumably sustained the injury during his two-inning relief appearance in Saturday's 7-2 loss to the Royals. He gave up a run in the outing for a third consecutive appearance and now holds a 5.06 ERA over 37.1 innings on the season.
Dodgers' Michael Petersen: Earns first MLB call-up Rotowire 25 MINS AGO The Dodgers selected Petersen's contract from Triple-A Oklahoma City on Sunday.
The 30-year-old right-hander will reach the big leagues for the first time during a professional career that began in 2015. He earned his way to Los Angeles by delivering a 1.61 ERA, 0.72 WHIP and 31:6 K:BB in 22.1 innings. The Dodgers are likely to deploy Petersen in lower-leverage spots initially.
Dodgers' J.P. Feyereisen: Back in big leagues Rotowire 29 MINS AGO The Dodgers recalled Feyereisen from Triple-A Oklahoma City on Sunday.
Feyereisen and right-hander Michael Petersen will join the Los Angeles bullpen for the series finale versus the Royals, providing the club with some much-needed fresh arms in the bullpen after five Dodgers relievers covered the final seven innings of Saturday's 7-2 loss. Over his nine appearances with the Dodgers this season, Feyereisen has submitted a 6.00 ERA and 1.33 WHIP.
Dodgers' Yoshinobu Yamamoto: IL bound with arm injury Rotowire 1 HR AGO The Dodgers placed Yamamoto (triceps) on the 15-day injured list Sunday.
Yamamoto struck out a batter over two scoreless innings before he was lifted from his start in Saturday's 7-2 loss to the Royals after he had experienced tightness in his right tricep while warming up prior to the game. Roberts hinted after the game that Yamamoto was likely to land on the IL, and the Dodgers have made the move official prior to Sunday's series finale. According to David Vassegh of AM 570 LA Sports, Roberts suggested that Yamamoto will be sent in for further testing Sunday before an official diagnosis for the injury and a timeline for his return is provided.

5th inning. The only score so far is a solo shot by Ohtani.

All three Dodger runs were solo homers. Two by Ohtani. One by Freeman.
Glasnow pitched brilliantly. Both Hudson & Phillips have 1.93 ERAs. Evan picked up his 10th save.

MLB-TV just announced Mookie has as fractured right hand after being HBP. No surgery, but he’s probably looking at 6 - 8 weeks on IL. Looks like LA needs another SS - Rojas and Taylor will likely fill in until they get a trade done. Bo Bichette is being mentioned. GO DODGERS!!!

The earliest he can become a free agent is 2026. They would be getting a year & a half of him.

I wonder if the Twins might be interested in dealing Correa. His first season there was a disaster. He's rebounded nicely lately, but the Twins haven't been the power they hoped they would be. Lux would be one guy we could part with. Rojas could take his place until Betts returns. How real is Outman's resurgence in the minors? Because either he or Pahes could be another piece. Then maybe a pitcher. Mookie could go to second base or rightfield on his return. We're going to have to call up a pitcher with Yoshinobu going on IL. Kershaw is due back next month. Buehler concerns me.

I've been against trading for Bichette, but now it looks like a trade might be forced. An idea would be, during July when many trades are made to trade the player who replaces Mooky while he's out and then trade him again. The plot thickens!

According to David Vassegh of AM 570 LA Sports, Roberts suggested that Yamamoto will be sent in for further testing Sunday before an official diagnosis for the injury and a timeline for his return is provided. The MRI results were made known after the "tight tricep" was anounced and it's a strained rotator cuff and that Robby said Yamaha would be back later this year. I'm very inclined to agree with that cos I've been having physical therapy on a tight rotator cuff myself. It's really a mild case and it's getting stronger every day. I have 2 weeks of therapy to go and my full range of motion, which is about 98% now, might not be totally restored. They'll most likely tell me to keep up with the exerersizes for awhile. But I"m 65 and Yamaha is 25 so, after maybe 2 weeks of rest, he'll start PT and after 6 weeks, start a throwing program, then a few rehab starts and he should be back by August. I sense the 2nd half will have plenty of drama, as injured players return, like Mad Max. 3 players on the IL in 2 games! Grove has a muscle strain in his chest and strains can be so frustrating. Kersh and Dustin will both be back so it's shaping up to be a very dramatic August and September.

If LA trades for a SS, whoever is playing 2B (Lux? Kiké? Taylor?) could then either be moved to the bench or Betts could move back to RF and replace Heyward and his .200 BA. and weak arm. I don’t think Mookie’s EVER going to evolve into an elite SS or 2B. But he IS an elite RF. Shouldn’t he play in the position he’s MOST effective in, rather than one HE wants? There’s no “I” in team. I know Daisy wants to be everybody’s friend, but moving Betts to the IF was a mistake. GO DODGERS!!!
