Shohei pops out to end it. 6-5 Cardinals' win. I was doing other things on my PC so I decided to something I havn'et done in forever: listen instead of watch. It was the Cards' broadcasters, something else different. I didnt see Mad Max's 2 errors but in fairness to him, it was the Fresh Prince's passed ball that led to the Cards' 5 runs.

Dodgers' Walker Buehler: Slated for 40-to-50 pitches Sunday Rotowire 2 HRS AGO Buehler (elbow) is lined up to throw 40-to-50 pitches in a rehab start with Triple-A Oklahoma City on Sunday, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports.
Initial reports indicated that Buehler would toss 4-to-5 innings Sunday, but it's since been clarified that the right-handed hurler will be held to 50 pitches or fewer. Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said Friday that Buehler could need around four rehab starts before he's ready to join the major-league club, so he figures to build up his pitch count over the course of the rehab assignment. Once Buehler is ready for big-league action, he'll slot into a Dodgers rotation that is led by newcomers Tyler Glasnow and Yoshinobu Yamamoto along with emerging star Bobby Miller.
Dodgers' Freddie Freeman: Collects three hits in loss Rotowire 4 HRS AGO Freeman went 3-for-5 with a run and an RBI versus the Cardinals in an extra-inning loss Saturday.
Freeman put the Dodgers on the board with a run-scoring single in the fifth inning, and he helped force the game into an extra frame by singling and scoring the tying run in the ninth. The All-Star first baseman is showing no signs of slowing down in his 15th big-league campaign, slashing .333/.500/.500 with a home run, four RBI and a 5:6 BB:K through 24 plate appearances. Freeman is in a great spot to produce batting behind Mookie Betts and Shohei Ohtani in a loaded Dodgers lineup.
Dodgers' Will Smith: Tallies three hits Saturday Rotowire 4 HRS AGO Smith went 3-for-5 with two RBI in Saturday's extra-inning loss to St. Louis.
Smith came through twice in run-scoring opportunities, knocking in a run with a single in the fifth inning and repeating the feat in the seventh. The All-Star catcher is off to a fine start to the campaign, collecting at least one hit in each of his first five games and slashing .455/.500/.545 with four RBI through 22 plate appearances. He's yet to sit out a contest and should have plenty of opportunities to produce this season while batting cleanup behind Mookie Betts, Shohei Ohtani and Freddie Freeman.
Dodgers' Gavin Stone hopes to bring more to plate vs. Cards Stats 4 HRS AGO
Dodgers' Mookie Betts: Remains scorching hot Rotowire 10 HRS AGO Betts went 3-for-4 with a solo home run, a double, two walks and three total runs in Saturday's extra-inning loss to the Cardinals.
Betts is on an absolute heater to begin the campaign, as he's homered in four straight contests and has reached base an absurd 18 times through 25 plate appearances. His long ball Saturday came in the clutch, pulling the Dodgers to within one run in the ninth inning against Cardinals closer Ryan Helsley. Betts is already paying huge dividends for fantasy managers who made a big investment in him in fantasy drafts -- he leads all players in homers (four), RBI (10) and walks (seven) while posting an astronomical 2.109 OPS through the Dodgers' first five games.
Dodgers' Yoshinobu Yamamoto: Bounces back in second start Rotowire 11 HRS AGO Yamamoto pitched five scoreless innings in a no-decision against St. Louis on Saturday, allowing two hits and no walks while striking out five batters.
Yamamoto faltered in his MLB regular-season debut against the Padres in South Korea on March 21, allowing five earned runs and lasting just one inning. His second outing went in the complete opposite direction, as the Japanese hurler struck out the side in a perfect first frame and gave up just two baserunners over five standout innings. Yamamoto may have gone deeper if not for a rare Dodger Stadium rain delay, though he did return to the contest following the 35-minute interruption. Fantasy managers who invested in Yamamoto in fantasy drafts should feel much better after this performance, and given how good he looked Saturday, it's quite possible that the right-hander's worst start of the year is already behind him.
Dodgers' Clayton Kershaw: Plays catch Saturday Rotowire 20 HRS AGO Kershaw (shoulder) played catch on flat ground Saturday, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports.
Kershaw isn't expected to pitch for the Dodgers until after the All-Star break, but it's a positive sign that he's throwing again. The team will be careful not to push the veteran left-hander too hard, though he's been picking up the intensity in his throwing program recently and expects to resume mound work sometime during May, per Jack Harris of the Los Angeles Times.
Dodgers' Brusdar Graterol: Throws from 150 feet Rotowire 21 HRS AGO Graterol (shoulder) threw long toss with Blake Treinen (lung) on Saturday from roughly 150 feet out, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports.
Manager Dave Roberts noted Thursday that Graterol still has a long way to go before being ready to return to the Dodgers' bullpen, but seeing him throw again is certainly an encouraging sign. The 25-year-old right-hander has been dealing with shoulder inflammation since early March and will need to continue progressing through his throwing program before a return timeline can emerge.

It was the Cards' broadcasters, something else different. I didnt see Mad Max's 2 errors but in fairness to him, it was the Fresh Prince's passed ball that led to the Cards' 5 runs. I believe Maxine actually had a third error in the 10th - an obstruction call that allowed the winning run to score from second (girls high school softball rule!). Daisy also gave FAR too long of a leash to Smelly, but what else is new? Good to see them fighting back all the way to the last out. But I fear we’re going to see more than a few games in the L column due to poor defensive play and Daisy’s continued ineptness. His annual “World Series win is the only acceptable outcome” speech has become tiresome and with the players acquired and money spent this year, there SHOULD be some fallout if he and Froggy come up short again. Doesn’t mean there will, tho! GO DODGERS!!!

Dodgers' Gavin Lux: Not starting against lefty Rotowire 54 MINS AGO Lux is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Cardinals.
Lux will once again sit down against a left-handed starter as Steven Matz takes the mound for St. Louis. Mookie Betts will shift to the keystone while Miguel Rojas receives a start at shortstop.
Dodgers' Jason Heyward: Out of lineup versus southpaw Rotowire 58 MINS AGO Heyward is not in the lineup for Sunday's game against the Cardinals.
Heyward will unsurprisingly on the bench for Sunday's series finale since lefty Steven Matz is on the mound for St. Louis. Chris Taylor will start in left field, pushing Teoscar Hernandez to right.
Dodgers' Max Muncy: Steps out of lineup Rotowire 1 HR AGO Muncy is not in the lineup for Sunday's game against the Cardinals.
Muncy is 6-for-21 with hits in each of the first five games of the season, but he has just one extra-base hit and has struck out 10 times. He'll receive his first day off Sunday with lefty Steven Matz pitching for St. Louis.
Dodgers' Will Smith: Receives Sunday off Rotowire 1 HR AGO Smith is out of the lineup for Sunday's game versus the Cardinals.
Smith has hits in each of the first five games of the season and is coming off a three-hit performance Saturday, but he'll receive a breather in the series finale against St. Louis. Austin Barnes will step in behind the plate and bat ninth Sunday.

Maxine with 10k’s in 21 AB to go along with his putrid D and arm. I used to really like and root for this dude. Now he just seems like dead weight without a real position on the field and zero chance of DH’ing on a team with O. Teams welcoming him in a trade seem like a HUGE longshot. GO DODGERS!!!

Lux - 2024’s version of Greg Brock. All the potential in the world, but a major case of the yips on the field and in the lineup. Perhaps the medias proclamation of being the team to beat might have been a bit premature. Especially when they still have to overcome the dynamic duo of Daisy and Froggy. GO DODGERS!!!
