I have to confess, I was getting nervous, knowing the Red Sox beat the Yanks 4 straight after losing the first 3 of the playoffs in '04. History has a way of repeating itself and the Dodgers have been on the wrong side of history plenty of times in their long history: Bobby Thompson, Don Larson, Hal King... but not 2024!

Injury after injury to the pitchers, especially the rotation, entering the post season with a 3 man rotation, the bullpen game last nite, and winning it all in the Yankee Stadium where the most hostile fans are (like those 2 idiots last nite), and Dodgers are the last team standing!

Great call using Buehler in the ninth knowing how he preferred pitching in the cooler temps and the effect those have on his curve. I may still not like Roberts or Friedman and their incessant analytics, but I gotta give props when props are due. Just dropped @ $300 on MLB.com for 2024 World Series Championship goodies! Nice to finally get one in a true season!
About Roberts, I saw a bunt with Lux with runners at 2nd and 1st in one of the games and I was astonished but content and then I thought the team had a chance. He didn't muck up the pen decisions so that's a big plus.
Buehler is the anti-Kershaw. Guy just has the dawg in him. Kershaw is a great human being, I've said it many times. But, when it comes to stepping on the other team's throat in the spotlight Buehler just has it.
Freddie Freeman is the best hitter I've seen in my life. Yes, there's athletes etc. but when it comes to pure hitting I haven't seen anyone like him. Dumb Braves!

Muncy's World Series.
20 PA's, 3 walks, no hits, 10 strikeouts. No runs. No RBI's.
He had a productive NLCS. His regular season was pretty good. For a .232 BA. But this is a position that needs upgrading.

But this is a position that needs upgrading. Problem is - who’d take him? I guess they could just release him and eat whatever salary they still owe him. He’s not a good defensive player at any position and even though he has produced offensively, albeit many times in blowouts or games LA was down by a bunch, that low .200’s average over the past couple of seasons make him an expendable liability. Re-sign Oscar Meyer, make a play for Soto and try a rookie at third. Better D at the hot corner should be a priority. GO DODGERS!!! |
