Shohei is 3 points behind Luis Arraez in the batting race. He very well might win the Triple Crown.
One more extra base hit to 100.

They shouldn't use him as anything more than a relief pitcher. Seriously. Two injuries in his career so far. Both pitching related. He's worth too much to our offense to risk that. Look at what's happened to our pitching staff.

With the Dodgers' pitching injuries, which could amount to entire pitching staffs, it's simply a miracle their record is best in the bigs. The Horsies could tie Dodgers for best record with 2 games left, but still! I sense a whole new attitude on the team and have a feeling they'll survive the first round of the playoffs and beyond. If they go all the way, I"ll change my screen name.

If only he had pitched this year, then he'd have the most incredible season in baseball history, without debate You certainly have to wonder if he has the same offensive season if he would have pitched this year. And I continue to wonder if it’s worth the risk of allowing him to both pitch and DH next year. They didn’t have a single pitcher make it through the entire season without spending some time on the IL. Does LA sacrifice all that offense for 12 - 15 wins on the mound? Their history with pitchers and their conditioning and unprecedented injuries doesn’t exactly scream “take that risk”. If they want to get more than offense with Oh, let him start shagging flies in Glendale. He’s probably talented enough to play just about anywhere, but the OF is a good place to start. FIRE DAISY ROBERTS!!!

Dodgers' Teoscar Hernandez: Ties career high with 32nd homer Rotowire 3 hrs ago Hernandez went 3-for-5 with a two-run home run and a stolen base in Friday's 11-4 win over the Rockies.
He got the rout started by taking Cal Quantrill deep in the first inning. Since missing a handful of games earlier this month with an ankle injury, Hernandez has been locked in, slashing .321/.410/.604 over his last 14 contests with four homers, two steals, nine RBI and 10 runs. The 31-year-old also tied his career high Friday with his 32nd long ball of the year, and he has two more games at Coors Field to try and establish a new personal best.
Dodgers' Shohei Ohtani: Breaks record held by Ichiro Rotowire 3 hrs ago Ohtani went 4-for-5 with a double, a home run, two runs scored, four RBI and a stolen base in Friday's 11-4 win over the Rockies.
While he took full advantage of a game at Coors Field with his bat, it was Ohtani's second-inning steal that allowed him to claim another record. With 57 pilfers on the season, Ohtani became the new single-season leader among Japanese-born players, topping the 56 steals recorded by future Hall of Famer Ichiro Suzuki in his 2001 AL Rookie of the Year and MVP campaign. The rest of Ohtani's numbers aren't too shabby either -- with two games left on the Dodgers' regular-season schedule, he's slashing .309/.390/.651 with 54 homers, 130 RBI and 133 runs. Luis Arraez's .314 batting average is all that's standing between Ohtani and a Triple Crown season.
Dodgers' Ben Casparius: Fans seven in bulk relief outing Rotowire 3 hrs ago Casparius (2-0) picked up the win Friday, giving up two runs (one earned) on six hits and two walks over 4.1 relief innings in an 11-4 victory over the Rockies. He struck out seven.
Making only his third career big-league appearance, the 25-year-old right-hander took the mound at Coors Field after opener Ryan Brasier worked the first inning. Casparius wasn't daunted by the environment, tossing 55 of 85 pitches for strikes and setting a new career high in strikeouts. While he's unlikely to play a big role in the postseason for the Dodgers, Casparius may have put himself in the team's pitching plans for 2025. Between Double-A Tulsa and Triple-A Oklahoma City this year, the 2021 fifth-round pick posted a 3.35 ERA, 1.25 WHIP and 106:46 K:BB through 88.2 innings before providing Los Angeles with a 2.16 ERA, 1.56 WHIP and 12:4 K:BB in 8.1 September frames.

I seriously wouldn't leave Yamamoto in there for mor than 3.0 innings. You want him to get some work in. Not take chances in an amusement park.

Dodgers' Ben Casparius: Optioned to Triple-A Rotowire 1 hr ago The Dodgers optioned Casparius to Triple-A Oklahoma City on Saturday.
Casparius performed well during his bulk-relief outing Friday, giving up one run and striking out seven batters over 4.1 innings. However, the Dodgers will send him back to the minors in an effort to stack their bullpen with as many fresh arms as possible. Justin Wrobleski will be the choice to take Casparius' place on the active roster.
Dodgers' Justin Wrobleski: Recalled from OKC Rotowire 1 hr ago The Dodgers recalled Wrobleski from Triple-A Oklahoma City on Saturday.
Wrobleski owns a 6.40 ERA and 1.42 WHIP through 32.1 major-league innings on the year, though his numbers are heavily inflated by a 10-run outing he endured Sept. 1 against Arizona. He'll return to Los Angeles to give the Dodgers a fresh multi-inning option out of the bullpen, replacing Ben Casparius.
