Yup. Dave is 'resting' Muncy after the game of his life. Hopefully Vargas does good. Yup. I always wonder why. Can't they wait an extra day for the scheduled day off. Anyway, in dummy's defense Muncy struck out facing the right hander in his at bat. This is why I can’t stand Daisy. He says and does one thing one week and then completely reverses course the next. Just over a week ago Trayce hit those three HR’s and was awarded another start the very next day. Daisy’s “not going to take that hot bat out of the order”. I believe Trayce went 0-fer, but still . . . Yet here he is in the exact same situation with a dude that has been struggling ALL this and most of last season, however, ABSOLUTELY RAKES at the Coke bottle and has a monster opener. Better give him the night off. There is simply ZERO logic in any of his or Fraudman’s decisions and while I hope and pray they will continue to underperform leading to one or both of their dismissals, I don’t see that happening anytime soon. If they falter this year, it’ll be due to “rebuilding”. If they somehow convince O to move south and still suck, it’ll be a “chemistry” or “mesh” thing. Daisy’s tenure is nearing a decade and a single, shortened season title is all he has to show for it, despite having one of the highest payrolls and some of the best players in the game for most of it. “Nice guy” managers may be loved by their players, but they usually don’t have too many, if any rings. I don’t see Daisy getting another. GO DODGERS!!!

Dodgers' Evan Phillips: Implodes in non-save situation Rotowire 4 HRS AGO Phillips was charged with three runs on three hits over an inning of relief in Tuesday's 5-0 loss to the Giants. He recorded all three of his outs via strikeout.
Over the weekend, Dodgers manager Dave Roberts told David Vassegh of AM 570 LA Sports that Phillips will likely see more save chances than the team's other relievers. However, because Phillips hadn't pitched since April 6, the Dodgers chose to get him some work in the eighth inning of Tuesday's game while Los Angeles was facing a 2-0 deficit. Though he struck out three batters swinging in the appearance, Phillips gave up three extra-base hits in between the punchouts, including back-to-back home runs by David Villar and Brandon Crawford. Though Phillips damaged fantasy managers' ratios Tuesday, he should still have some leeway as the team's preferred option in closing situations after he had allowed just two baserunners through his first three innings of the season while converting both of his save chances.
Dodgers' Dustin May: Troubled by free passes Tuesday Rotowire 5 HRS AGO May dropped to 1-1 after giving up two earned runs on two hits and four walks while striking out three over 5.1 innings in Tuesday's 5-0 loss to the Giants.
After opening the season with two straight quality starts, May couldn't meet the six-inning threshold after his struggles to find the strike zone pushed up his pitch count. He began the game with back-to-back free passes, with both LaMonte Wade and Michael Conforto coming around to score on Joc Pederson's one-out double. May tightened things up thereafter and ended the start on a positive note by retiring four of the final five batters he faced while inducing a double play along the way, but he took the loss after opposing starter Alex Wood and five Giants relievers kept the Dodgers' bats quiet for the night.

People complaining about Roberts & Friedman have got to understand this is just the way it is nowadays. There is absolutely no doubt Andrew (with Walter's financial backing) has built the strongest organization in baseball. People here have cited Roberts winning just one championship (in a strike shortened season) with the most talented teams in the league. MOST TALENTED TEAM IN THE LEAGUE. Dave told Andrew just what he wanted to hear in his interview for the job. Where I agree with dissenters is GM's build teams. Managers run the team on the field. That has fallen to the wayside. Not just with the Dodgers. With just about any contending team in baseball. The new corporate structure has geeks with pocket calculators running baseball now. Field 'generals' do as they're told. Look at the problems Jim Tracy had with DePo. DePo wanted Choi in the lineup. Tracy basically told DePo you don't know what you're talking about. Shut up & shove it up your ass. After the season, McCourt allowed DePo to fire Tracy. Then McCourt fired DePo. Joe Maddon did the same thing in Anaheim. He got canned too. The same people complaining about Roberts, complained about Mattingly before that. "DDF." That was a constant refrain. Torre before Mattingly, Grady Little before Torre. Tracy before Little. Johnson before Tracy. The only TRUE manager the Dodgers have ever had was Tommy Lasorda. Tommy presided over a 99 loss team in 1992. Two consecutive 73-89 seasons in 1986-87. I criticize 'Doc' too, because I despise lackeys. But let's get real here. Or maybe I'm just drunk.

I criticize 'Doc' too, because I despise lackeys. But let's get real here. Or maybe I'm just drunk. Haters gotta hate and someone’s gotta take the fall and heat. Did the players underperform? Yes, in many cases. But why was that? It all falls back to the one person responsible for getting them ready, motivated and prepared. And that has been Daisy and Fraudy and their insisted reliance on the geeks and their computers. Nothing is done and the games are not played based on instincts and / or gut feelings. Run creation is gone and it’s all or nothing every damn single night. And despite all these new rules - that is just boring as fuck baseball, especially on those “nothing” nights. The ideal that a pitcher is done after 70 or so pitches is absurd and relying on four to six other dudes to give you three or four innings EVERY night is a formula we have seen fail for the last several years. What’s scary is those late innings haven’t seemed to show up until late August or September in previous years and we’re seeing them already in April this year. We’ve replaced superstars with new superstars and all its gotten us is division titles. Postseason failure after failure. The only constant had been the Master and his puppet. And it’s beyond time that changed. Who was the last manager that actually got rewarded and extended for his ineptitude like Daisy has? I’m too lazy to look it up, but I’m pretty damn sure no manager since Lasorda has had a tenure and been extended like Daisy has. Not Grady, Tracy, Russell, Johnson, Torre or the original DDF. So why is ownership so hell bent and gaga over this SOB? I guess they are content with someone that just nods and agrees with their every whim, doesn’t complain or make demands and does it for a reasonable price. I’ve said it since he was hired and I’ll say it again - this franchise will never win a FULL SEASON title under Fraudy and Daisy. And they’ll be lucky to win 80 games this year. GO DODGERS!!!

Is it just my imagination, or are there more triples this year?
Outman is such a stud.
