Many times careers are cut short & all you're left with are memories. For some reason I thought of Andrew Toney. He was a shooting guard for the Philadelphia 76rs. He could do it all. The game I remember in particular happened in 1982 or 1983. Toney was in his prime. The Lakers threw one defender after another at Toney, in a futile effort to shut him down. Included was Michael Cooper. Toney scored 46 points off the bench. They used to call Andrew the "Boston Strangler" for the way he manhandled the Celtics.
I don't know whatever happened to him after his career was cut short by foot injuries. But that was one explosive player.
I once had a conversation with Dan (bulldog) about Bernard King. King played for the Knicks, among other teams. He was unstoppable on a roll. So was Toney.
