I told the story of the promotional 45 record I got after Bill Singer's no-hitter. Vin Scully made me a Dodger fan more than anyone else. God bless you, Vin. Thank you for a lifelong passion.

I told the story of the promotional 45 record I got after Bill Singer's no-hitter. Vin Scully made me a Dodger fan more than anyone else. God bless you, Vin. Thank you for a lifelong passion. He was the ONLY guy LA needed in the booth. Never needed any back and forth banter with another announcer. He would give you the play by play while mixing in stories from the past and present without batting an eye. And he was NEVER a biased “homer” like SO many of team announcers are. You’d never think he was a fan of ANY team or player, whether he was calling games for the Dodgers or the NFL or any of the other events he covered. One of my regrets was I never got to meet the man, shake his hand and tell him what he meant to me growing up. I’m sure I could have done so dozens of times in Vero, but never thought about it any of the 25 - 30 games we went to there. I guess I should have made more of an effort, especially in 2008, their final season in the Grapefruit League. What a career and even in his 90’s, joining and posting on Twitter for a new generation to see and be entertained. There will never be another. Rest In peace, Vin. GO DODGERS!!!

Grew up hearing him and watching the team for free when they were on Fox channel 11 or KTLA channel 5 whichever or one first and then the other. I remember the first summer and first game I tuned- in to. The team was playing at 3 Rivers Stadium vs the Reds and I was like this guy is good. Never tuned off from then.

That would have been Riverfront Stadium.😜 Although they were almost identical in size and layout (like most stadiums were back then), Three Rivers was up in Pittsburgh. GO DODGERS!!!

Totally LOVE the VIN arm patch our boys will wear the rest of the year. Just ordered one (and a 2022 All Star Game) via eBay.

Watching when Vin received the Presidential Medal of Freedom from Obama. His eyes were red, he was so touched. What a great man Scully was.
