For all LA's talented catching depth in the system, the AAA duo behind the dish is Rocky Gale and Cael Brockmeyer!!!
Bonus Fandom points for anyone who knows either one of those names... ;-)

Yes the catchers are at AA. Smith is doing ok, Ruiz has struggled so far at the plate.

If not - I’m out! Great show, though! GO DODGERS!!!

Yes the catchers are at AA. Smith is doing ok, Ruiz has struggled so far at the plate. And Connor Wong was just featured as the catcher of the week on Jim Callis' Prospect Pipeline Team of the Week. C: Connor Wong, Rancho Cucamonga Quakes (Class A Advanced)(Dodgers' No. 15 prospect).361/.439/.889, 9 G ,13 R, 13 H, 4 2B, 5 HR, 11 RBI, 4 BB, 17 K, 2 SB, 1 CSIt took Wong just nine games to match his home run total from 2017, his pro debut. He homered in each of his first two games and twice on Sunday, when he showed off his athleticism and versatility by playing second base. Wong is tied with Colton Welker (see below) for the Minor League lead in runs, and he sits atop the California League in homers, extra-base hits (nine), totals bases (32), slugging percentage and RBIs.THAT is quite the week! The strikeouts are a bit concerning though.

The show is actually called “Brockmire” and it is a no holds bar, unrated comedy on IFC. Azaria plays the title character, a former “Joe Buck” type MLB announcer with a heavy drinking problem that has a complete drunken mental breakdown while broadcasting a game. He is pretty much run out of the majors and is forced to take a job with a lowly, terrible minor league club of misfits owned by hottie Amanda Peet, who he naturally starts sleeping with. Pretty funny stuff with lots of cussing and a decent amount of gratuitous nudity. Seasons 1 & 2 were I believe only 8 half hour episodes in each so if you’re looking for a decent “binge watch”, you could knock this one off in a couple / few nights before Season 3 starts next week. GO DODGERS!!!

If Verdugo truly can develop his power outside of the PCL, he could be a centerpiece player and not just a complimentary piece.
He's one of my minor leaguers in my keeper fantasy league, so I'm praying this power is real!

Caleb Ferguson struck out nine in five scoreless innings in a no-decision for Double-A Tulsa. The left-hander, drafted in the 38th round in 2014, has a 0.87 ERA with 15 strikeouts in 10 innings this season.
“I’m not overpitching anymore,” Ferguson told Marisa Ingemi of MiLB.com. “Last year, I became too aware of everything and was trying to throw as hard as I can and beat everyone with whatever pitch I’m going to throw, instead of locating each pitch well. Trying to keep my body under control now, and focus on what I’m doing now to set up the next pitches.”

Pitching is what LA needs to develop. The positional side (outside of the middle infield) is quite deep, but behind Buehler there is little established prospect depth on the pitching side. Alvarez has not shown much development of his stuff, and White, Ferguson, Santana are just breaking onto the scene. One could argue White is somewhat established, but he still hasn't pitched even 100 innings and needs to fully establish himself at the upper levels. If some pitching depth develops along with all the positional depth the team has, there's no doubt the system should be near top ranked again next winter.
