I feel so bad for this woman.

It's understandable if people don't have the patience to read through this rambling diatribe. Her mind is obviously going in 15 different directions at the same time.
My mother had a nervous breakdown at age 22 in 1948. Back then they institutionalized you. Not like today where they have you sleeping on the sidewalk & eating out of trash cans. Her mother died of cancer in 1936, when Mom was ten. Her & aunt Margie were the only two left at home to care for their mother. Their father had run off. Mom got married at age 15 to have a roof over her head. Harley abused her. One time he thought it would be a lark to tie a dead rat to her toe while she slept. The crowning glory was having one of her sisters & nephews smeared all over a Kansas highway. I have the news clipping in our family Bible. Mom received 30 shock treatments. 15 electric. 15 insulin. She told Harley she wasn't going back to him. He promised she would never see their daughter Linda again. With her record, Harley found it easy to keep his word.
Linda died May 5th, 1987 in a mental institution. She was running from the staff, fell & hit her head. That was their story anyway. Ever notice how slow nursing homes & such were to install cameras? Linda had been diagnosed as a paranoid-schizophrenic. She was 42 when she died.
Mom & I had my brother Dave institutionalized in 1995. He had already been diagnosed as a paranoid-schizophrenic. He lived in Tucson, not far from our parents. God bless Dad, he just wasn't much help. Mom called me out here in LA crying. "I don't know what I'm supposed to do." I didn't want my mother to feel alone. "I think you know what WE have to do. Dave has become a danger to himself." It was the second time he had ingested so many drugs & with so much alcohol he had stopped breathing. He was sentenced to six months in maximum security. It was an outside contractor to the state. Within a month he had been transferred to minimum security & then a halfway house. I'm SURE they were still billing the state for maximum security. He went into the backyard to have a smoke, & just walked out the gate. About an hour later the supervisor noticed the little guy was gone. The police were called, an APB went out & Dave was "found" dead. The medical examiner listed his cause of death as "Unknown." 39 years old. The police knew my brother because he was still a troublemaker when he first moved to Tucson. He was totally harmless & weighed 130 lbs at the time of his demise. He laid in the morgue for six days with "Dave" tattooed on his arm. Those master detectives supposedly couldn't ID him.
Just yesterday this agitated woman came into the liquor store I use. "Don't call the police on me! They're trying to take my family away!" "Don't worry about me. Your secret is safe." She thanked me & went outside. A customer & the clerk were laughing nervously. I said my brother had been committed & the laughter stopped. I feel for these people. So much it hurts. If a society is judged on how we treat the defenseless, we're royal fuckups. While Britney is quite obviously out there, what is the deal with her parents making her work? Shouldn't she get a couple years off to get her shit together? There's part of me seeing her side.
