Report: Rams Trade Quarterback Jared Goff For Matthew Stafford Syndicated Local – CBS Los Angeles 9 hrs ago LOS ANGELES (CBSLA) – Multiple sources are reporting that the Los Angeles Rams have traded quarterback Jared Goff to the Detroit Lions for quarterback Matthew Stafford. In late December, 26-year-old Goff got surgery after breaking and dislocating his right thumb during a game against the Seattle Seahawks. The 32-year-old Stafford was the fourth quarterback in N.F.L. history to throw for over 5,000 yards in a single season. www.pro-football-reference.com/players/G/GoffJa00.htmJust 20 TD's to go with 13 interceptions. 22 & 16 the year before. He's regressing & so is the team. Does it have to do with the loss of Todd Gurley? Goff isn't a great quarterback who can thrive despite a mediocre running game. www.pro-football-reference.com/players/S/StafMa00.htmStafford will be 33 in a week.

I like the trade for the Rams it's an improvement particularly when they say Goff and McVay weren't on the same page. The thing for the Rams is that they rush to pay guys big like Todd Gurley, Brandin Cooks and now Goff that aren't on the team. Stafford is a player and they should be in the top 4- 8 going forward so those two first round picks are looking like number 24- 32 in the first round. Something over 50% of first round picks in the NFL turn out to be busts. Rams should be a force for another 3- 5 years.
