33 games. Just 82 plate appearances. That's 2.48 per game. 5 walks. That's pretty predictable. 3 steals in 5 attempts. 3 RBI's. Wow. That's putrid. 13 games at 2nd base. 13 games in leftfield. Remember what a strong arm he had? All 13 of his outfield games were in left. 3 games at shortstop. 2 actually at DH. A few of his games weren't starts. They were platooning Dee. He entered 11 games as a substitute. Only got 3 at bats that way. He hit .077 versus southpaws. A .111 OB%. This was their regular second baseman.

A former 12th round draft pick who hit .171.
Dee had just 1 plate appearances as a leadoff hitter. 80 came batting 7th, 8th & 9th. He swung at the first pitch 37 times. He took the first pitch 38 times. That was always my beef with Gordon. He seemed like a nice kid. But please work the count. He said he couldn't. Who would throw a ball to him? That probably says more about his concept of the strike zone than any real strategy by opposing pitchers. Swinging at the first pitch produced a .235 batting average. A .235 OB%.
His career has never been the same since he got busted for steroids in 2016. He had a solid season in 2017. 201 hits. A .308 BA & .341 OB%. 60 SB's. But even including that, he's hit .280 over all. He only hit at least that high the one time. He's hit .268, .308, .268, .275 & .200. His OPS+'s place him beneath league average. This past season it was 39.
I thought about this because of probably losing Kiké this winter.
