Guess Trevor is making a 'pitch' to the Angels, & half of MLB. Please don't do it Arte. Trout deserves better than what you've given him to work with so far.

Trout deserves better than what you've given him to work with so far. Mike is doomed to be one of those greats that never gets a shot at a ring because of the team and owner he was loyal to. Shame. I’d compare him to Kershaw, but CK’s been on contenders and pretty much great teams since coming up in 2008. It’s unfortunate that some of our greatest postseason losses have fell firmly on his shoulders. And evidently his back this year. GO DODGERS!!! |

Moreno will probably bid on every free agent pitcher out there thus driving up the price for all of them. He will not take the Dodgers winning the World Series lightly and will spend foolishly. And Trout winds up Ernie Banks. Signing Bauer would be a great start, but if Moreno ever wants his Angels back in the playoffs, he really better major on pitching this off-season. I shook my head last winter, when he signed Rendon for 3B and not an equally great pitcher. The Angels finished 25th in pitching and as we all now, pitching is at least 81% of the game. Rendon, Trout, and Ohtani are a great threesome, but it won't do the Angels any more good than Arod, Griffey and Buhner for the Mariners if they don't shore up the rotation and pen depth. They had Randy Johnson of course, but he was the Trevor Bauer of his day. One great starter and four mediocre ones won't cut it. Steve Carlton won 27 games out of the 59 games the '72 Phillies won. I'm hoping Bauer stays with the Reds cos it's fun seeing them a winning team again like the Big Red Machine of the 70s. Moreno better learn about the game before he signs anyone. Comparing Trout to Ernie Banks is perfect. |
